Good work destruk,

also thanks for explaning how the scoring works on the display by the switches on the playfield so now we can move the screen to the second monitor for us FS users.

The original Pinball2000 designers do not want the "video" to appear on a second screen where a backglass normally would be. You need to understand that the "video" is meant to appear as an interactive element with the playfield itself. To have the video on a "second" screen would totally ruin the intended effect of the game elements where the player shoots the pinball at animated targets in the video that appear to be floating "magically" on the playfield itself.

If you have Future Pinball installed, please play a game or two of Dark Quest as that is the best example on a computer of what Destruk is trying to create in VP9 for Star Wars Episode 1.

Best Regards,
Todd.

I guess I don't understand why you would want the video display on a second screen? All that is behind it is the two ramps and a VUK - can't even see the ball get kicked up because there is a metal plate in your line of sight - between the VUK saucer and where you are. If it's simply to avoid having to rotate what appears in the video display, that's an easy way of getting it on your cabinet, and that I can understand. I don't know if it's possible to move vpdisco to a secondary display though, as in 2002 they weren't as common as they are now, and I haven't tried it.

ok, good news is the vpdisco display can be moved to a secondary monitor. However, it is designed to be ran at 320x240 (for now) and you aren't able to resize the window without also resizing every individual graphic and font it uses, as well as changing all the font sizes and placement to accommodate a different size. So it'll be small on your cab on the secondary display.

I've been working a lot on the in-game graphics - anything that isn't a game mode. It took awhile, but I think I'm happy with them now.
Here is one sample of many... (don't want to spoil it, but yeah I'm still working on this game)

obviously still have a few transparency parts to 'fix' - but this will overlay another animation on a black background as it is, so maybe not that important.

Another video - spinners and jarjar stuff is done - I'll just need to add the moving point scores and letter animations to knock those rules out of the way. wink.gif

Damn destruk that is amazing looking! I can only imagine the amount of work that you've already put into this table already! This looks great.

Have you started building the actual table in VP yet? I can't wait to see what the two look like when combined.

I could be wrong here, but if you distorted the shape of the video, it would appear upright in FS mode? Kind of like those logos they put on sports fields.

For cabinets it could be done like the real thing - put an extra monitor above the playfield, mirror the video and reflect it off the glass. Homemade Pin2K.

I didn't distort anything. What you probably mean is the inclination on the z axis of the display doesn't look correct to you, that is a guess. It has the exact proportion ratio to the real machine with the same colors (for all comparison purposes) and speed and operation will be the same, that is a fact. It will not be 100% identical in every way to the real machine, that is a limitation.

I was thinking of trying my buddies pocket projector to put an image on the glass. I'll try it when I get the chance.

You would have to invert the monitor and it would probably be a pain in the arse.

Seriously, let destruk get back to his topic and make a new topic to talk about possible FS senarios.

I don't see how it is off-topic. I think the projector would be a cool idea if it worked. There wouldn't be much to talk about in a new thread, because we don't even know if it is possible. Oh well, I guess this thread is for 4:3 discussion of this table only. Sorry.

I don't mind at all, really - I'm working on more graphics so it's not like this topic is preventing me from getting work done. Feel free to continue talking about your projector system idea Rawd and let me know if I can help.

Ok, cool. My friend is coming over here today, and Ill ask him to bring it over. I am pretty sure that it has VGA inputs. Not really sure how well it would project on the glass, but if it works well, it might be something for us FS users to consider.
