Egg on my face, my female friend's Tron tape is a blank tape that recorded the movie. Gonna wait for the re-release of the dvd. That means I can go to work on Algar. biggrin.gif

Gonna have another delay on getting back on this table. I had the money set aside to purchase the movie and then my telephone craps out on me (not to mention my dvd player, but that's irrelevant) so I have to use the money I set back, and then some, to get the new phone. Good news is that I got so much work from projects including 3 large bags of video tapes to convert, that I should still get the video real soon. biggrin.gif

My projects aren't going to hold me back from completing this table, it's the 'money got used for replacing a broken thing' thing that has caused the delay. Story of our lives. biggrin.gif

out of curiosity, no one has made any mention of the new movie. Did it bomb that bad? I have yet to see it so can't make an opinion...

It's worth watching. There's some boring long-winded dialog at times, but it has it's moments.

in general, I liked it - certainly better than when we waited 20 years for a new Star Wars film! (could anything ever be as much of a disappointment as The Phantom Merchandise?)
I liked the fact that they assumed you've seen the first film...i.e. for a sequel 20 years on, they didn't keep trying to fill you in on what happened in the first film, but if you've never seen it you may be a little confused by parts of the story.
I didn't like the "love interest" - totally unecessary, and very boring/predictable. I wish films could just tell a story without it have to become a love story - the only film in recent years that I was impressed with deliberately refusing to have a love interest was "I, Robot"...when he starts showing her his scars I remember thinking, "Oh, here we go...zzz", but they just used that bit to enhance the story & they was no hint of it turning into a love story.
Tron Legacy also has a good soundtrack - though whether watching it on a 3-D IMAX screen with their incredible sound system made it seem better I don't know.

I'll definately watch it again.

Regards,
Dan.

One thing I almost forgot: I may be changing the playfield design some. I am not real happy with the current design of the playfield objects and placement and will be doing some redesigning. The general "neon" effects and images currently on the table will still be applied for the most part (making room for better plastics). biggrin.gif

Started the redesign of my Tron table. So far so good, but ran into some minor graphical glitches. Any thoughts on what is causing this? Any input is appreciated! biggrin.gif

The left slingshot rubbers aren't looking like they are supposed to, and the right slingshot posts aren't looking the way they are supposed to. The rest of my posts and rubbers are turning out right.

for that top area you could put an image of a tron disc onto a ball then have us hit things with the 'disc'... just a thought

The upper playfield at the top end of the table will be used for the MCP battle so it is possible. I am planning on using "Tron disc" shaped lights for the left and right 2 Bank targets.
