Notes on installing LG 32 inch computer monitor.
1. if nothing else, black foam core board would work as an easy bezel.
------
2. Personally, i would just put a tiny finger sized access hole in the cab side.
-----
3. That monitor has a standard vesa mount, so you may be able to implement that in the mounting might make life easier
No, the LG-32inch monitor did not need to be de-cased.
So, the rails and frame seen in that video ... AtGames re-designed those and it's all perfectly formed plastics and metal-framing now.
1. I removed the old (now blown) AtGames 1080p LCD-Panel from the supplied AtGames plastic/foam Bezel-Frame/Glass-Holder. With a slight modification, the Bezel-Frame can be re-used (which is good because it is also the Glass-Holder-Support and the glass is pretty heavy).
2. Turns-out, you can get to the button from the back and underneath. And like you said ... it's set-it and forget-it anyway. Seems fine with no hole..
3. The cabinet has two horizontal MDF supports, that were really just to keep the upper-cabinet ridged. For now, I used them (with some 1x4's and dense-foam on their tops) to build a cradle (of proper height) for the monitor. Plastic side-rails kept as is, and re-installed modified Bezel. I didn't spend much time on it, but it turned out ok.
This solution provides the actual 32-inch LCD-panel being only about 1-2mm off-center (you can't really tell). At some point I will likely re-visit this, but I wanted yall to know this works for a quick install. It should be OK for a little while, but I don't think the LG's back-case is really designed to support the full-weight of the monitor (that's what the VESA-mount is for).
I will then take your advice and buy/build a simple flat-ish mount that attaches at the 100mm VESA-mounting point. The left plastic rail will have to be modified or removed to allow the monitor to shift-over another 1-2 mm. There will still need to two attachment points on the left to support the left-side of the Bezel/Glass-holder-Support (they are built-into the left plastic rail). This will take some parts-collection and planning before it tear it apart again.
