Thanks PB!

Next exciting step forward in development on the 'Animated Backglass' theme is the 'UltraVPServer'..

Please find below an 'Animated Backglass' of the 'SafeCracker' Pinball machine for Virtual Pinball created and based on this 'UltraVPServer' technology developed by our Spanish Friend Manofwar ..
Based on UltraVPServer.exe which got the instructions from the Table itself.

I installed and tried it today and works absolutely FanTasTic! yahoo.gif

'SafeCracker - Animated Backglass by Manofwar' based on UltraVPServer'

Thanks StrangeLeo for letting me know! wink.gif

Enjoy! good.gif

I haven't tried this yet dutchman, but this is my question? Does this allow the script to call images to be shown like a slideshow, or is it able to get calls directly from the rom, for example: could i code an animation sequence for the bad cats backglass that is called when the solenoid pulses from the rom?
You may not understand what i mean, but i'm just curious how it works. I guess i should try it.

Unclewilly .. If I'm not mistaken it's able to get calls directly from the rom .. I'll send you the table including script to look at.
It's a combination of an .xml, .png and .uvp file (see attached).

Please find attached how the directory sequence should be unzipping the files.
Simply 'doubleclick' the UltraVPServer.exe to start it & start the SafeCracker Table.

Cheers,
FD.

UW pm'ed you with a link ..

Cheers,
FD.

Hi guys.
I try to explain a little on the Ultra VP (UVP).

UVP is a small program created by Manofwar, our particular Guru on the spanish VP scene.
It works in conjunction with Visual Pinball, and makes the same functions as Pinserver does, but, upgrade with is own editor.
At this moment, only a safe craker testing script is done, but when it will released, it comes with the editor.

The editor, on the same way as VP, has the adventadge to place everything on the backglass, as score rolls, lights, animated gadgets as the spider of Elvira.Scared Stiff, and also, all things may be scripted.
The installation is very easy indeed if you want to try it (still is a beta..and no editor included right now, but you can see how it works)

Download the zip, and uncompressed it wherever you want in your PC.
Then, execute UVP.exe, and a pront message appear saying that UPV has been correctly installed on your comp.

Place the SafeCraker table (VPT) in the same place as you had the tables, and the rom (in case that you don't have it) also in your current rom directory.
Then....adding the info necesary on Hyperpin as always do...(place the Wheel image, Playfield and Backglass in their respective hyperpin directories), and adding the code for the hyperpin xml data.

Now, execute it and enjoy.

Also, if you want to see it firts on VP only.....make the same, and execute the table on VP. The backglass will apear on the second monitor....and animated will be...(joda's stile...ou yeahhhhhhh!!)

Cheers.

Please find attached a YouTube link showing some of the Backglasses I've done over the last couple of weeks while busy upgrading the 'old'
'Flying Dutchman's Backglass Paradise'.

The upgrade of the site is completely driven by the endless effort of 'maguiar' and hoped to be released soon.

So here's a little teaser .. wink.gif

'Flying Dutchman's Backglass Paradise - Update'

Enjoy it! smile.gif

Here's my second test-result with an Animated Backglass controlled by the 'UltraVPServer' as described earlier.

This 'Animated Backglass' of the 'Black Knight' Pinball machine for Virtual Pinball is created and based on the 'UltraVPServer' technology developed by our Spanish Friend Manofwar.

Thanks StrangeLeo & Manofwar to help me out with some script adjustments getting the tables going! wink.gif

Simply Amazing! smile.gif

Enjoy! wink.gif

Cheers,
FD.

'Black Knight - UltraVPServer developed by Manofwar'

Edit: sorry the 'Black Knight' Vid is not too clear but the 'active reels' are actually displayed and working on the Backglass itself (as wel as the 'Game Over', 'Ball In Play' and 'High Score' work the way they should with a real pinball machine!).

I've put up a YouTube Vid of the Animated Backglass in action this time .. Enjoy! smile.gif

Here's the latest I've done on the 'Active Backglasses': Black Knight 2000.
Note: this is not UltraVP yet .. just the 'Active Backglass' principle where several different animations are put together in an .exe and started on a 2nd screen automatically upon Table start.

Some results on the tests I did can be found on YouTube:

'Black Knight - Active Backglass 1 - Complete Table - FS - Lord Hiryu'

'Black Knight - Active Backglass 2- Backglass Only - FS - Lord Hiryu'

The 'Active Backglass' is available for download, as always, in the 'Download Section'.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
FD.

Another 'Active Backglass' as an addition to the newly released FanTasTic Table from UncleReamus & NoahFentz!

A YouTube vid from the tests I did:

'Active Backglass - Silverball Mania'

The actual 'Active Backglass' is available and downloadable in the 'Animated Backglasses' section of this Forum.

Thanks again UncleReamus & Noah for your amazing Table!

Have fun!

Thanks Benny .. I learned from 'The Master' wink.gif
Still trying to improve to get to a better result! smile.gif

They are already downloadable in the 'Animated Backglasses' section on this good Forum.
'Essential Files' => 'Frontend/Addons' => 'Animated Backglasses' , or simply click on my 'Upload List' button next to my signature wink.gif

Note: they are NOT based on UltraVP yet, but on the '.exe principle'.

Thanks again for your support Benny!

Thanks Benny .. as long as I'm enjoying it myself & I see that others seem to enjoy as well, and if I look at the amount of downloads they do, .. I'm Happy! wink.gif

Nevertheless .. sometimes some appreciation won't do any harm! wink.gif

Thanks Pinball buzz .. here's one to start the weekend with wink.gif

Terminator 3 this time .. exists of 15 different images and as a grand total 24 put together to simulate this 'Active Backglass'.
Click the link to see one of the test-results:

'YouTube - Test - Terminator 3 - Active Backglass'

The Active Backglass itself can be, as all the previous ones I've created, downloaded under the 'Animated Backglasses' Section of this Forum.

Cheers,

ps. Could anyone tell me on how to get a YouTube Video 'framed' within this 'reply' to show it directly?
Thanks!

Here's some more clear results of the UltraVPServer tests I've done recently with the Visual Pinball Table 'SafeCracker' where the Backglass activity is ROM controlled
via the UltraVPServer (as developed by Manofwar).

Very realistic! smile.gif

Hi Dutch,
Like the new site - thanks for the hard work you have put in.
Safecracker is really impressive - bring it on !!

Was it a lot of work to get the program to work with the safecracker rom ??

Thanks Studmuff & pinball buzz, your responses are much appreciated. wink.gif

Regarding your question:
The UltraVPServer itself is developed by Manofwar.

The principle is simple .. place your Backglass.png & the Backglass.uvp in a certain directory routine.
Some Tablescript adjustments.
Start the UVPServer first .. start up the table in VP and the 'Active Backglass' is loaded automatically & fully integrated with gameplay.

I'm obliged to do some tests smile.gif .. don't know when it will be released yet.

Cheers,
FD.

Here's some results on new tests I did on a newly created 'Scared Stiff' Active Backglass .. ROM controlled through the UltraVPServer developed by Manofwar (without his effortless help I would not have accomplished this - ALL credit to him!!). smile.gif

I still have to get the positioning of the lights correct, but the result is worth to share with you! wink.gif

Enjoy!

ps. stuggering is due to my capturing software ..

Cheers,
