Awesome stuff...
However one thing I noticed is a graphical glitch with transparencies I believe.... any help would be appreciated!
I have an HD 4870 1GB.
Attached is a screen shot.

These tables look so great and fun. I have a question. I tried to use PinMame and somehow read that you couldnt actually play the tables that they were just really great looking creations with no playability. For whatever reason it still has not sunk into my mind what program through reading the documentation I need to actually play a game of pinball with my sons.
Can anyone give me the layout for success here? By that Im requesting help, not links or sarcastic remarks please.
I have a new laptop running Windows 7 plenty of power/ram/video and so on. One monitor only so no backglass or split screen.
What is the choice program to DL? VP9?
Any special other things I need?
The instructions were written for people who are computer literate, and not in a form that just any passer by can understand (Thats me
)
I look forward to droping credits into these amazing looking reporoductions from my past and sharing it with my two kids.
Thank you for the help,
You can e-mail if you dont want to post or PM me about the how to do. [email protected]

Welcome to the fold, darthriddle!
The best place to start is where it says, 'Getting Started', so go to 'Getting Started' in the upper left of the homepage and you'll see 'VP Installer' and 'Installation Guide'---in fact, you might open a second browser window for the Guide, to keep it handy---click on the Installer, SAVE it (to wherever it wants to go---I haven't done it for quite a while, but the default settings and reference to the Guide make things easier than you think). You'll wind up with VP8.x, VP9.0.2, and VPinMAME (v. 2.1, I believe) folders installed, and then you go to Getting Started>Essential files for Scripts, Fonts and Samples. Then (and by now the guide might be making more sense) you'll update to VPinMAME 2.3 (I think), VP9.1.2 and/or whatever else is new and shiny. The Guide will fill you in on such things as, unzip the tables but not the ROMs or the Samples (I think), and if you're running Vista or Windows 7, any .exe gets right-clicked to 'run as administrator'.....
Trust the Guide more than me; there are lots of folks around to lend a hand, and above all;
ENJOY!

Welcome to the forums!
In addition to what GSGregg has already written (which I highly reccommend you do - the Installation Guide is extremely helpful!) there are other factors you will need to know:
- make sure for your laptop you download the desktop tables, not the cabinet tables. You would only need to download the cabinet tables if you either have a full size visual pinball cabinet (built like a regular pinball machine with monitors in place of the playfield and backglass) or if you are able to turn your monitor on its side (right side of the monitor on the desk) and play that way.
- you will need to update your vbs files as they have been updated since the installation package was created. You can get that package from this link: http://www.vpforums....u...ail&f_id=17
- you will also need (I think) to download the preconfigued nvram package for Gottlieb System 3 and Bally 6803 tables, as they will not work if you just download and run those tables. (I don't recall if this information is in the Installation Guide) You can download that package from this link: http://www.vpforums....u...l&f_id=1362
- when you run the setup program, make sure you leave the "Always run full screen" checkbox unchecked, otherwise you will have the scoreboard of the Visual PinMAME tables taking up the entire screen hiding the table
If you are still unsure on what to do, or if you have any questions, please feel free to post again and someone here will assist you.
And as GSGregg said at the end of his post: ENJOY!!!!

More than happy to help, darthriddle; your abjectly amorous application of adjectives makes it all worthwhile! And if you find that you want to add or adjust replay scores or balls-per-game, or about anything else in the ROM menus (if that's what they're actually called), ta2686 has written several Guides on how to accomplish the improbable (the impossible takes just a little bit longer).
It sounds like you are already Enjoying, and that's a good thing! Let the in-family tournament begin!

You forgot about volume control for certain tables as well Gregg. (Thanks for the mention of the guides!)
Jason, for those guides you can either click on the links in my signature to take you directly to them, or go into the Help Center forum and look for those guides as well. Alternatively, I have also developed (with the help of GSGregg) an Excel spreadsneet that has the Solid State tables that are currently emulated listed in alphabetical order with links to the associated tutorials. You can download that from this link: http://www.vpforums....u...l&f_id=5221
Glad to hear that you are enjoying the experience!

I have also developed (with the help of GSGregg) an Excel spreadsneet.....
Another "Hah!"---He did all the work, then I looked at it and, in my best Billy Bob Thornton (a la 'Sling Blade'), muttered "Uh Huh".
More Billy Bob thornton (I'm on a roll!): "Y'ought not ta be rude to people, uh-huh".

Well, since you were the one who "suggested" to have something like this available, you were involved from the start of the development of it!

Sounds are very quiet in this table. I wanted to change that as it's explained here but got no END key on my laptop. Is there a way to open coin door without the END key ?
What kind of laptop is it? All of the laptops I've seen have an END key, either by itself or shared with another function. The key is usually located on the upper right side of the keyboard (along with Page Up, Page Down, etc.)

Asus M50VC, with numpad. I can make the END key with SHIFT+1 but it doesnt work in VP.
Maybe there's a way to redefine the "open door" key ?
