While the physics are better with vp9 I struggle to play quite a few of the tables. When the lights all start flashing the table freezing/stuttering makes me miserable. If there was a way to turn that off I would as the game play is more important than a whack off flashers going off. As long as the feature lights (inserts) work that is all that matters to me. Using 2.8 Ghz P4 2 Gb Ram Nvidia 6200 256mb xp 32 bit.

No problems running vp 8 tables except that scaling on a 24" ws monitor bites.

I was going to use a 2.4 Ghz P4 2 Gb Ram Nvidia 6200 512mb xp 32 bit. for my cab but it is seeming pretty pointless atm. Has halted my cab production until I can raise some funds which sux as I am dying to try out my led dmd otvwimper.gif Looking like June-ish for completion.

xp is fine but you seriously need a lot better hardware than that. Just remember, the rewards awaiting you are certainly worth it smile.gif You have three options to speed things up that shouldn't end up with you in the slammer

1 - get a part time job
2 - Buy it on credit
3 - embezzle from within the family funds

Option 2 is dangerous when married but remember, it's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission
Option 3 is illegal, but spouses rarily press charges if it's a first offense

Sorry if I've misunderstood something here, but if scaling is objectionable because of distorted tables and ovoid balls, why not use 1152 x 864, if it's available, or go into Nvidia Control Panel and create a custom resolution of 1200 x 900, which would fill the vertical component of your display. True, you'd have black bars down the sides, but only until June or so when your embezzlement comes through. rolleyes.gif

No, it is that I like how you can edit the backglass x-scale in vp9 for ws play, in vp8 it is window mode only for me. I'll try the resolutions that you mentioned.

As a free program, the physics are OK. I use to play VP6.1 a lot. The physics in that were OK. VP9 physics are so out of range compared to earlier VP that at first glance especially on an existing table, they seem to not work nearly as well, and in some cases not work at all. And it's not that they play so much different, it's that it takes such different settings to make them play the same.
