I figured it out.  Needed to drag it to one of the icons that appeared on the screen while dragging.

Yea, that confused the hell out of me the 1st time
I kept trying to click the icons, which kept vanishing

The plastic is a wall, and I'd like to copy it and then apply a "x" mm offset to the new wall

Then I have just to add Top and Side materials to this wall (see below)

118.jpg

At this time I have to move every control point of this wall manually

copy wall, paste wall, right click the new wall, pick scale
poke in a number, like 1.01
keep scaling until it is the size you want

then change the appropriate visuals and materials

Scaling just works for a circle or a parallelepiped, not for more complex shapes

i used it on the plastics on the demo table
then slingshot cover and the outlane divider

seemed to work pretty good, with minor touch up.

Not perfect, but it does work.
could be better, but it would need a different means of deciding what is the actual center of the object.

Probably a better method, though i have no clue how to code it
is glue the object to a a temporary square, or rectangle, when scaling
then you scale the rectangle.
The object will have no choice but to scale all points appropriately, because it is glued to the rectangle.
Kind of like when you drag a box around something in photoshop, and scale it.

In photoshop though, you have the pixels for reference, the wall would have to be temporarily translated into something with a lot more reference points
i am thinking?

Prims seem to scale perfectly, but they are more complex, so i guess internally have more than a few reference points to work from?

I cheat, i export the blueprint
and then do the art to leave the edging open

Dear VPX Developers,

please find enclosed an update report for a non critical bug (rev4368)

When you delete a wall control point the wall is deleted from the Layers.

All layers are deleted if you attempt to re-assign the wall to a selected layer.

To correct the bug

Save,Close & Open the table to restore the deleted wall & layers.

Many Thanks

Joseph Gofton

It would be cool by pressing and holding ALT when scrolling with the scrolling wheel on the mouse up and down to zoom in and out in the editor - without clicking on the magnifying glass. Workflow would be better in my opinion.

You can do that already by holding CTRL and using the scroll wheel, unless I'm misunderstanding.

Hello VPX Devs,

would it be possible to add "Trail Strength" in Preferences -> Video Graphic Options

in order to set consistent Trail Strength the same for all the tables ?

regards from Poland

Exactly this. Also it seems like newer windows 10 updates and/or NVIDIA drivers kinda allow for other windows still to be shown in exclusive mode and so on. It's a pretty weird thing/behavior overall nowadays.

..also: wanted to take the holidays as a chance to finalize the new OGG support, etc, and then exactly on the 24th my dev laptop decided to die (internal gfx chip seems to be completely dead).  :/

HDD is all good though, but i'm still only slowly building up a new dev laptop now, so bare with me.. grrrrrrr..

What this does in Win 10 is basically force Exclusive Fullscreen apps to run in a new type of Borderless Fullscreen mode.

This used to be called Game Mode way back in previous Win 10 updates, and you could enable / disable it universally.

Now it's on by default for all apps in recent Win 10 updates and is called "full-screen optimizations". You can't turn it off (normally) for all apps like you could before when it was simply "game mode". You must disable "fullscreen-optimizations" per app in the Compatibility Tab.

Should we turn this off for vpx?

If your system is running fine... no need to. It's intended to be a better thing... and many people have no problems with it.

If you find things run inconsistently on a specific app, then try disabling Fullscreen Optimizations to see if it helps. Just remember it's "exclusive fullscreen"....so that means things like pinmame windows can't appear overtop of the vpx window.

I turn it off, for most everything full screen, not fond of the feature, i dont wanna be as connected as MS thinks i do.
Of course no other dialogs can appear over an app in exclusive fullscreen mode
but that is kind of the point in me running them that way.

Keep in mind, you wont see a dialog from anything
Not discord notices, no windows notices, no table errors, no what ever else you might run in the background, no VPM DMD's etc.
I suggest running exclusive mode only after you dont need to do anything but play, everything is adjusted, troubleshot etc.

EDIT:

Also, i should mention

I run VPX in a higher resolution than i run the desktop in
I dont feel like scaling the desktop as that screws with other things

When table is running in 2k in exclusive full screen, with windows doing it's borderless windowed optimization crap
the dialog appearing, which decides it is desktop rez time, does ugly things to what ever the full screen app was.

That is another reason i disable it on everything i run as fullscreen.

Hi fuzzel and toxie!

In case you want to try a table made entirely with 10.7, then you may try this one. I have built the table from scratch and redrawn all the graphics myself. As usually the graphics will resemble the original ones, but since I don't like much the yellow color, I have used more red and orange :)

Since the table is not playable with 10.6, I'll wait to release the table until you release 10.7, as still may be more changes and I might need to change the table  :) I have used the new wall elasticity falloff to make the rubbers and the table is running really nice with the "arcade physics 3.0" :)

I just wanted to show you the table :) As usual all the lightning is done with VPX :)

If I import an image into "Table -> Image Manager" when I'm in the "Backglass" view, I've to switch to the "Table" view a come again to the "Backglass" view to see this image in the "DT Image" scrolling menu

PS: JP, thanks for this nice version with the correct "ZScale" value

JP

Works in 10.6.1 after resaving with that prior version of 10.7
not that i recommend doing that of course

But it seemed to play no worse for wear, suppose it simply ignores wall falloff values is all.

The Mini DMD was a nice surprise

Oh PS
10.7 was more fun
different rebounds on rubber segments

Shame you can not take a rubber band and apply a different physics material to a given pair of points

Hey guys, first time install here. I'm following Terry's excellent "Start Here" video (thanks Terry!) and all is good up until this step at 18:54

"And now we are going to update all these files",

where he overwrites the Release files with the BETA files - at the time of the video is was 10.6 Beta. However, the Nailbuster wiki page now says:

DO NOT USE VPX 10.7 beta files yet!!! Reports of too many issues and its still a WIP.

So, should I just skip that step in the video and move on to next or is it ok by now (I understand the wiki is more up to date than the video since it was recorded Aug 2019) So my inclination is to follow the wiki, just double checking here to be sure.

Thanks in advance. Anxious to get started in this hobby!
