Not sure about every thread, but you can check out the performance and stutter tutorial thread.

http://www.vpforums....=+newbie +guide

It's mentioned here and it's a good place to ask questions if you have any.

Hello everybody...

since i have  update to vpx 10.2 i have a problem with some vpx tables.
The error appears on startup:  Line 1 The index was out of range ...

Scripts are newly copied and also B2S Server Beta, VPinMame 2.8

If I activate "Disable B2S" in the menu Preferences-> (Key, Nudge and DOF) then the table is running.

Am at the end of the ideas ...

Do you have any?

P.s.
At Scared Stiff VPX version -> Line 1
Tales of t.a.n. VPX version -> after some time when the ball touches in the field

DJRobx, what value are you running for max pre-rendered frames?

It's set to 1.   The reason I'm curious is that I suspect there's an issue with the FPS limiter/throttling code.    Setting FPS=60 on a machine that can handle VSYNC=1 ought to result in a smooth ball, possibly with some tearing, but that was totally not the case on my cab (at least under Win 8.1).   The result was a VERY stuttery ball movements.

VPM uses this same code also.

The solenoids tweak on the backglass has been around all along though... is it possible nothing much has changed and these guys that are having the trouble just didn't know about the tweak?  There have always been certain tables that benefit from this settings tweak and Scared Stiff is one of them.

but it could well be that the changes i did in the mentioned range are really counter-productive on some systems, i will definetly re-check and test that one.

Probably should post this in a separate thread ..

So you have the .directb2s files in the tables directory and the names match the table?

the controller.vbs file is the most recent one and there is not a older one perhaps in  the tables directory instead of using the scripts directory?

If this doesnt help - feel free to create a new thread on the vp helps forum.

From http://www.vpforums....=35311&p=364824 - I did test with 2, while running 4K resolution on a Nvidia 750, it worked amazingly good. But, not tables that did demand a lot, for those, this would not help. So, I've gone back to using 1 and reduced my resolution to 1080p, after Drybonz explained what that setting at least is supposed to do.

Must admit, haven't played to much lately - been busy with everything except actually playing. I haven't bothered to investigate much more on this subject. I concluded that the 750 can't handle it and I should invest in a more powerful gpu.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Those keys are handled in the core.vbs file. If you need different settings you must change then there.

Please if you can brief explanation.

My coin acceptor is set to the letter(word) L

In that pile adjustments do not know exactly what to change?

greeting

This is a bug in older versions only change the letter to which you want the character and all ok ..

On the latest versions you change the command)coin 5) or does not respond..

Other commands changes remain signs of a coin does not work?

On my side Medieval Madness X runs with rev 2874 as smooth as with VPX 10.1 and Scared Stiff has a little stuttering I would say equal to revs 2830 and below, but it doesn't impact gameplay

My 2 cents for what it's worth. I think there needs to be a mimum pc specs for VPX. It has to get frustrating that a build works great for someone who has (for example) an I5 proc and a 900 series video card and not good for a person who has pentium4 with 500 series video card. Not sure when tweaking the build to cover everyone's pc specs will work. I'm not trying to offend anyone with my statement. I appreciate what you and everyone else contributes to this fantastic hobby. Thank you!

I think there needs to be a mimum pc specs for VPX.

There are minimum specs that are informally agreed upon in forum discussion, with some debate, of course... but I don't think it's ever going to be packed in a CD rom with recommended specs printed on the cover.  New features get added and hardware requirements go up.  If you are running the beta, there may be some variation going on because new features are being added.  There's 4 million threads out there focusing on performance and what hardware people are using.  I've written an informal tutorial about performance... if you want to look at it let me know and I'll post the link.  The information is definitely out there if you want it.
