Well as you can see from my updated coding post above I'm getting there slowly.
I'm gonna be releasing a beta soon. (Maybe a week)

Cool. Looking forward to it.

OK some bad news first:

I will not be releasing a beta.

sad.gif

I will be releasing MY final version in a couple of weeks.
Through the process of this table I've come to realise I'm no artist.
So the version I release will be complete in as far as coding goes but all the DMD animations will be crappy placeholders and the table will need some graphical tweeks.

Next time I'll team up with someone who can make pretty Tables and do the coding for them as I found this quite easy (It just seemed to 'click')

So if anyone has a FP Iron Man lying on there hardrive waiting to be coded send me a PM.

OK Rethinking again how about a second DMD (overlay really) to show the animations. I think I could do a fair stab at that. I'll try it out and upload a pic to see what you guys think.

Something like that.

Of course it would need a new backglass design.

Or could I get in trouble for using ripped video?

Currently Sorting out the Mini Playfield.
This is gonna be really basic, but my main concern is to get something there so that the coding can be done.

What did you decide to do up there? I think it would be good to have a single small flipper with the regular ball?

At the moment Its two flippers with all the targets and a couple of walls.
There is no drain.
I feel as this is a timed mode (Fifteen seconds with more awarded) and the fact It just took me a 2 minutes to light all the Characters while testing, Its hard enough.
Still needs some tweeking.

Ok Stewies Pinball is now coded and working.

Just a few more little bits of coding, and then the hard part:
Adding in animations etc so you know the modes have started or are ending.
Oh and loads of Sound FX.

Steve is already doing The Dark Knight.
Anyway, for the mini playfield it's rather difficult to lose the ball. At least on the real machine I can keep the ball in play up there for a lot longer than 15 seconds. The mode doesn't end until the ball drains on the real thing. And it's active during multiball on the main playfield too until the 30 second ball saver expires and all but one ball drains on the main playfield if I remember correctly. During multiball you can get jackpots both on the main playfield shots as well as the mini pinball shots, and the mini pinball has its own ballsave timer as well to make it easier. Family Guy/Shrek are both intended for beginner pinball players, so you have the mini up post that saves a bunch of balls as well as extra long ball savers, multiball restarts, it is difficult to actually lose the game unless you make a conscious effort to do so.

This project is currently on hold.
I've started something else and It has shown me that this table could do with starting over.
However if its OK I can release the current build, which has:
95% of modes done.
However it is difficult to tell when a mode starts as DMD animations are missing.
So Is it OK to release this here? If not let me know where.
