Nice work.  As promised here is the DOFLinx version to run PUPlayer from FP and FX.  OF course, I still haven't setup an FX2 example yet ...... soon (in my defence, its been nice weather, I have a new job, its nearly Xmas, I've been drinking and the bird ate my homework!).

I think we might be witnessing the next "game changing moment" for VPX happening here. (The last being Rob's VPX surround sound)  :)

Looking VERY Cool!  Love it. Much nicer than UltraDMD! Makes an argument for having a screen instead of a DMD now.  :)

Tron is basically done (as much as I can do with a rom table)...I’ve been trying to get a video demo done....but OBS is being a major PITA with recording the backglass in my cabinet without some stuttering. VPX is always a pain to record compared to FP.

So hopefully I can get a video done up for tomorrow...though it may include the captured backglass video having some stutters, whereas in the camcorder video of my cabinet it is silky smooth. Gameplay and video is smooth the whole time when I'm playing...its just OBS messing up...grrr!

The biggest pain I have right now is the limitation of the rom in Tron....I’ve been trying to get multiball handled correctly for jackpots,Topper screen info staying displayed, etc..and they work great, but I have no way of controlling when balls are considered drained, or “shoot again”,etc.  I’ve got to “estimate” when the rom will add a new ball,etc...so I tried using Timers to do “checks”, and it works 90% of the time...but there may be some times where it won’t...and you wont see jackpots displaying a video, until you drain and do that mode again, for example.

Really annoying because I have spent sooo much time on workarounds compared to doing the actual mod....but I am amazed I was able to pull off what I did considering I’m mind-reading what the rom is doing.  Some modes I couldn’t do a video for because they use the same colour for the neon ramps, so I had no way of differentiating them as an example (using my "Light-Logic").

I present to you, the world's first PinUp Player table mod, Tron Legacy VPX (PUP Edition). This is not using a PinUp B2S, and was a complete mod of the table script. I created all the videos myself (1920x1080 for Backglass, and 1920x822 for Topper), inspired by SLAMT1LT's FP version. Skip to 3:20 to get right to the demo and skip by rambling. Note: The backglass video in the upper right may seem to stutter...that's because OBS wouldn't record it nicely, whereas my cabinet shows that the videos all play perfectly all the time! I'll try to figure out where to upload it as soon as I can. Enjoy....so cool!

My goodness that is amazing Terry... wow! Obviously works amazingly well with a movie themed pin thanks to the content available. I can't imagine the time it took you to put this together. Great work everyone involved! Now how do I get my hands on this content :) I'm going to need a bigger SSD. :)

I don't have a topper screen but I think that content will look pretty cool on my LCD embedded in my apron.

You don't "need" a Topper / 3rd screen". You can have the Backglass Pup screen made smaller to allow enough room to fit the Pup Topper screen below it on your backglass monitor.....so both videos playing on one backglass monitor. That's what's awesome about PUP, as it gives the user the options to layout this stuff however you want!

You "can" put these on your PF screen, but only if you aren't using exclusive fullscreen. Since many people consider exclusive fullscreen the new standard...especially with 4K, I'd rather just tell people that it won't be a viable option to use videos on your PF screen.... but if it works for you...then hell yes, you can do that.

I've got a little 4" screen embedded in the apron I fabricated to fill the gap between my lockdown bar and screen, it will fit nice and neat in there! Looking forward to giving this a go.

tried this out, and some of the videos mainly the topper videos are not lining up even though the PUP displays are lined up perfectly on my screens.  They are either cutoff or oversized, also the actual b2s backglass sometimes doesn't show back up after the video, its really delayed.

When the table boots, the test video's show up can this be supressed?

did some more testing, and there is definately a focus issue after the first video plays, backglass does not come back and screen is just black.

topper videos are off center and somewhat cut-off on the right hand side.

I also notice that the process for pinup does not quit when you exit the table.

things to check:

run PinUpDisplay.exe and press 'configure displays'.  Check that your backglass, dmd..etc are set to POPup state (you may have them set to always on).  Also check that you have 'scale video' checked ON.  (maybe the aspect ratio is causing playback issues?)

if you still have playback issues, try changing the video driver to directx on the screensetup and see if that changes anything...

let me know....

ok playback issue fixed, didn't look under Default state for those settings.

scale video is checked, i disabled all other screens except topper and backglass.

backglass videos show and display fine, the topper videos are still offset to the right for some reason, and when i move it over the video is sliced off on the right side

Is there a way to flip Y for people with Pin2k style cabs?

Setup went fine and initial testing worked, but getting cannot create activeX component when running via the table/game.

Edit: Fixed this. I had set the other .exe's to run as Admin and it seems that it didn't like that. Changed them all back and works.  Still wondering if there is a way to Flip Y.

so i'm wondering if the format the vidoes were recorded is the issue, so my topper isnt as wide as Terry's setup.

So if he recorded the videos to fit his screen the pinup for the topper isn't scaling the video to fit the cust height and width in the pinup setup.  Terry's is in a wider format.

When i make the screen smaller the zeus is cutoff on the right side, if i make it larger then the video larger than many screen so it's not scaling.

the backglass works as we are both using a 32 " 1920x1080p setup.

this may be an issue as folks topper screens arent universal

Dang it!  Now I have to build another cabinet because of this.  I just installed a curved screen backglass too.

Now to find a screen that will work like TerryRed's underneath the backglass,  maybe another curved screen but just a bit smaller.

This has got me actually excited again for VP.  But also hoping FX3 will come through if Zen can pull their heads out and allow DDH69 to do his work.

I've always wanted more screen real estate (bigger screen) for the dmd because that's where so much info is happening, so now is the time to switch stuff up.

I also love video on backglass idea becuase it's so big and not really used enough.

I want to thank NailBuster, DDH69, and TerryRed for their contributions and enthusiasm.

Now, does anyone know of a decent software that can rip my dvd's or blurays, so I can can just extract clips that I would like to use for this.  I haven't done that sense dvd days when I was making demo disks for my home theater and I'm out of touch.

Is there a way to flip Y for people with Pin2k style cabs?

no support for flipping/rotating.  But you can easily use something like ffmpeg and a batch file that can go through all video files in a folder and rotate/flip the output to new video files.

so i'm wondering if the format the vidoes were recorded is the issue, so my topper isnt as wide as Terry's setup.

So if he recorded the videos to fit his screen the pinup for the topper isn't scaling the video to fit the cust height and width in the pinup setup.  Terry's is in a wider format.

if you go and configure your topper screen.  how does the 'pinupplayer setup' video play in the topper screen?  if you press refresh button does the video 'fit-to-screen' or is it cutoff?  if its good then I don't see how other videos wouldn't fit-to-screen....
