Just changed my code a little and use a start proces to gain control over io. Much better now. Next week will start on DCS codeWell it was not slow but could be faster. Have some ideas to improve but already playableWhat.. How cool is that!!
How large is the perf penalty? Unplayable or okayish?

I replaced my nucore emulator with my own one in my pinball machine. It works very smooth incl DCS emulation
This means that even wizard blocks can be run with all original sounds
At the moment working on getting the serial ports work so also the terminal is available

Any updates on your progress? I would love to be a tester and try it out in my RFM cabinet.

Update: By now, we got a PR for PinMAME that added rudimentary support for Pin2K machines. After a lot of additional fixes, cleanups, debugging, optimizations, adding more sets, and reading public docs to tweak things and comparing to the real thing, we now have a kinda faithful and 'fast enough' (some things can still be hopefully done there though) emulation!
Final fixes to make the early sets and the very newest sets work correctly just dropped today, so time for alpha/beta testing of Pin2K: https://github.com/v...7.0-407-7bc6f62
(note that the 64bit version(s) are substantially faster)
EDIT: updated link with some more optimizations

So will this take care of the video as well as the switch and s9lenoid calls?
If so where is the video displayed, on dmd like baby pacman.

Yes, everything works, exactly the same as all other PinMAME emulated machines do, should be not special in any way (otherwise please let me know, cause then its a bug!).
All sets that are available/known also fully work, including all aftermarket/homebrew sets and prototype/factory prism board sets.
As for the display: Thats a bit special, as there is no data path for VPM via core.vbs for full RGB stuff. So in that case, its similar like Granny and the Gators or Baby Pacman. :/
BUT: If one uses a 10.8.1 beta (i just created a new pre-release here that includes the newest PinMAME plugin with the latest optimizations, too: https://github.com/v...-5436-af26b2d93 , recommended on windows is VPinballX_BGFX-10.8.1-5436-af26b2d93-windows-x64-Release.zip ) then one can use the screen via the pinmame plugin (enable it in the ingame menu, set data path to pinmame directory) and a flasher (in 3D or backdrop view), set its rendering style to Display, and set its source to
ctrl: // pinmame / display (remove spaces!!)
and the screen will be featured there, and you can blend it over the playfield.
