Herweh,
this is outstanding! I was not able to concentrate on the playfield because I always watched the beautiful backglass. This is a real milestone in VP development. I am really loocking forward to a lot of tables created with your editor. Awesome!!!
PS: The closing bug from your demo table is solved. I already integrated into Hyperpin; the table opens and closes perfectly!
Thanks!

It is totally amazing how much animation is in this backglass.
Try to hit either all 3 targets in the upper right area, or get all lamps of "Sorcerer" to light or make the multiball, there is an explosion of lights, both on the playfield and in the backglass.
After some lost balls, as I just watched and forgot to play, I recommend to start with the 3 targets in the upper right area, you have some seconds to watch the backglass before you risk to loose the ball. For the others you need somebody else to play so you have time to watch.
The table has really the power to become one of my favorites, thanks to this addition...

Looks really good. I had the UVP version installed already, so I was able to A/B them (very easily too with the simple code addition being all that's required) and it's a definite improvement I think. No disrespect intended to the work on the original UVP of course, it was great, I would just say that the B2S version feels more dynamic, with a greater degree of subtlety in the lighting effect too that makes it feel more realistic.
This is all based on the 5 minutes of time I had to spend with it, didn't get to dig deep into checking out performance etc, but if this is the future of B2S I'm all for it, way easier to set up.

This is great! But.. one problem I noticed immediately. It seems to be stripping characters, specifically brackets [ and ] from the file name. Many of us name tables using the following method:
Sorcerer[6935](v1.1.0.1)
When I launch the table, I get script error stating a message stating that it can't find
Sorcerer6935(v1.1.0.1)

got mine working, naming issue as well.
Previous name which did not work in HyperPin:
in database xml: Sorcerer_URNF_VP91x_v1.1.0.1_JF_BMPR_MOD_B2S
VPT file name: Sorcerer_URNF_VP91x_v1.1.0.1_JF_BMPR_MOD_B2S.VPT
directb2s file name: Sorcerer_URNF_VP91x_v1.1.0.1_JF_BMPR_MOD_B2S.directb2s
New name which worked fine:
in database xml: Sorcerer_URNF_VP91x_v1.1.0.1_JF_BMPR_MOD
VPT file name: Sorcerer_URNF_VP91x_v1.1.0.1_JF_BMPR_MOD.vpt
directb2s file name: Sorcerer_URNF_VP91x_v1.1.0.1_JF_BMPR_MOD.directb2s
don't really care, I'm not attached to a specific filename. This is great stuf, thanks.

Great job .. very nice & crystal clear fonts for 'Game Over' bulps etc.
Displays are presented much better already but could still be a little improved to get to the 'authentic' look.
Performance wise comparing UVP & B2S =>
Overall gameplay:
UVP => very good
B2S => very good
After locking 2 Balls and 'Feel My Power' releasing the 2 balls there's a clear performance hit with B2S.
During multiball all performs well, but after locking another ball during multiball after 'Well Done' there was a second, clearly noticable performance hit. Again, after releasing this locked ball a 3rd performance hit occured.
With above scenario using UVP (ran on a powerful pc) there's nothing noticable.
Once again .. thanks!
Cheers,
FD.
ps. 'Game Over', 'Match' and 'Highest Score' don't dim during gameplay ..

...pardon the explictive....but HOLY FCUK!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is amazing work! I absolutely love it. I feel that these are definitely steps in the right direction. Having UVP and B2S options for a cab is phenomenal. (as I still prefer UVP on alot of my machines)
It seems like there is no "delay" between the sounds of the machine, and the digits/rom . They are perfectly synced up. Diner B2S , if you notice, at least on my machine, you get a delay on the rom when you get "today's special" hole.
Great Job!
Aaron

Thanks Dazz, found it and fixed it. Was my fault. In the next version you can use [ and ].This is great! But.. one problem I noticed immediately. It seems to be stripping characters, specifically brackets [ and ] from the file name. Many of us name tables using the following method:

Oh, this is interesting. Of course this is a B2S backglass but on the other hand it is not. Especially this is no B2S table. Hyperpin is doing some extra stuff when the table name ends with 'B2S'. I will think about this issue.got mine working, naming issue as well.

FD, thanks a lot for your response. I have done a lot performance improvement the last days and will do more. I have learned a lot about the old pinball ROMs and will learn more the next weeks. Knowingly I got to the current limit of my B2S.Server. As I mentioned there is so much firework for the backglass inside these ROMs and it is not too easy to handle that all. But there is a lot room to improve the new B2S.Server and I'm not running out of ideas and enthusiasm to do it.Great job .. very nice & crystal clear fonts for 'Game Over' bulps etc.

Thanks a lot, Aaron. You wrote the perfect words, it's great to have UVP AND B2S options....pardon the explictive....but HOLY FCUK!!!!!!!!!!!!

FWIW it worked for me in XP 32, so at the very least not a broad compatibility problem.
I can't seem to get this working in XP 32. It doesn't seem to want to launch the B2S.Server.
...and I am also running XP 32 with Hyperpin, and B2S tables so I think the issues people are having may not be related... Just like UVP where some people have stuttering while others do not...
