I'll work with you, if no one else wants to.

Anything you'd like me to do?

If everyone doesn't mind, I'd like to lend a hand too. I've got a fairly good understanding of The GIMP and I am working in the 90's workshop on the independence day table. If you want an example of my capabilities, just look at the 90's workshop threads I've posted in. Just throw something my way and I'll tackle it to the best of my ability. If there are already too many "cooks in the kitchen" then no worries, I'll understand completely! biggrin.gif

New versions of the plastics are what this table needs most in order to continue, some of these are presently the resource of least quality.

If no one else with better photoshop skill than me volunteers, I'll take a stab at redrawing them, are there any existing images of the plastics available to start from? (note: I only started doing this a few weeks ago and I've relied heavily upon the tutorials from scapino and wtiger)

Todd

Excellent news! TAB has come through with fresh high-res playfield and plastics photos from an owner, so a new Voltan is back on the cards again.

I would really like to see Voltan actually escape Cosmic Doom and I'm offering to take on the playfield re-trace in Illustrator.

So I'm reaching out once again to Eala, UW, TAB, Noah and anyone who has hi-res photos of the playfield. The resulting vector image will take a few months time for me to re-create, but I think that the experiences I've learned on High Speed will help me take things to the next level. Looking at existing images tells me this one will likely be difficult and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

To all the people involved in the 70's workshop, please, lets do this!! dblthumb.gif

Best Regards,
Todd.

p.s. I have not abandoned pinuck and our Sinbad WIP is still coming out too!! biggrin.gif

If anyone has resources for Voltan Escapes Cosmic Doom, plastics scans, stripped playfield, etc, please PM me as I'd like to see what I can do to update this table. Thanks.

Todd.

Thanks UW, I think I was able to download the partially re-drawn 1024x2048 playfield that Eala was working on. If there is an updated version of the playfield somewhere maybe someone (Eala perhaps?) will post it here or PM it to me. I offered to redraw the plastics but the plastics scans were not posted so I don't know who has them, if anybody does. Thanks again!

Todd.
