All in all just do what tables you want to do UW. I'd like to see Old Chicago too.

There are many old IRP tables that play very well but could use new paint and rubbers (like the real games). I'm doing one myself this way (Ash table). Why redo it if you don't have to, right?

Which Ash table are you working on? There's many good ones. I might do his Champ once I'm done with Baseball, Target Alpha and now FS Hokus Pokus

I've got a good vp script for Bari targets that I used in bad cats.

?????? Bad Cats doesn't have vari targets...

Isn't the fish bone target a vari target the kind that score based on how far they are pushed back by the ball.

Could someone explain the vari target to me. I know it move back notch by notch depending on how hard it was hit. After getting hit will it return to it's initial position or hold at the notch for which it scored

A vari-target is simply a target that scores higher the more it is pushed back (ie the harder it's hit). It returns to the original position.

So basically it works the same as the linear target in bad cats. I'll have to recheck the code for that to mak sure it functions properly.

My vari targets work like this: triggers sucessively raise and lower the targets in front and behind the ball so there always is a target in front of the ball- and none behind it, and then re-raise on the return.

By the way the targets return 1 notch at a time about 3/4 of a second between notches.

I'm gonna do.....kings and queens.....

I'll join 1234fd in thanking you for that! Also (it's been about a month since I 'bumped' for these):
4 Aces: http://www.ipdb.org/...928&picno=19388 and Aces and Kings: http://www.ipdb.org/...=11&picno=18536

Both are 1970 Williams EMs. They were discussed (4 Aces, mostly) in the "Any forgotten tables.....?" thread, posts 19/21 & 24;

Sooner or later, someone will remember them..... clapping.gif

Yes for the first part, no for the second part...
On some pinballs, you have to go in a kicker in order to collect the points (and then, reset the vari target).
But mainly, vari tagets reset just after.
And yes, Bad Cats have a vari (linear) target... rolleyes.gif

To 1234fd:

Yeah.....I have both the VP8 and FP 'Kings and Queens' tables. I figure it couldn't hurt to see what UW and VP9 do to it.

Now to find out what 'Dodge City' looks like.....

I know it's not a great game, but what about Bally Air Aces? It has some c00L looking artwork in my humble opinion.

Yeah. Nice, bright, wide-open playfield, a healthy row of targets to nail..... hmm.gif

.....and a blonde Jeff Goldblum as the pilot. I like it.

Wild Wild West had that vari-target hold feature. Maybe a couple of others. I'm pretty sure vari-targets were a Gottlieb exclusive in the U.S. (up until Bad Cats). I seem to remember several smaller European manufactures having them as well. Chicago Coin had a variation of them that looked like flat metal flippers and pivoted back. They had a different name for them. Anyway, that Vari-Target hold feature is actually pretty cool and unusual. So I'm going to put my vote in for Wild Wild West in VP9.

another really cool table is Four Million B.C

http://ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=935

has some ugly plastics but cool multiball and zipper flippers, good amount of targets too. The old IR version I have is fun.
