I have a new job so now I don't have enough time to play pinball.

Thats great news Clyde. Hope you found something that you enjoy doing.

Diner has a ruleset that is quite shallow. So, when on monday I had a round where I had 28m on first ball + 2 extra balls in the pocket, and every ball there after drained without even touching the flippers I told myself this game is going to wait for me until the weekend. But, seeing the scores you guys produce, I'm not sure if I can be bothered to even try.

I know recording actual game play on your cabinet could cause lag which could potentially ruin a game but it would be kind of neat to see recorded footage of some of these 'top score' games just to see what skills and luck were mustered up to get such high scores.......show the rest of us how it's done.  :P

Maybe just record game play from a camera on tripod?

I will build my new PC with very good hardware in the next one or two weeks and if everything works, I hope, I can record some games and release them on youtube.

I'm also interested to see the skills of the other players.

C'mon ... Dark have challenged you Joey ... ganja or whoever dares to ... :-)

Personally I believe the most important part to getting a high score is of course a bit of luck but at the same time have a machine that has a minimum of lag. I use a 43" 4k monitor and I've seen it tested under 24ms screen lag by someone who at least should know what they where talking about. But, then again. I'm not a top scorer here. A estimate of accuracy, about 1/3 of the times I will manage to get at least 10 hits to the left ramp in a row ... after I'm a bit warmed up and if not getting bored or frustrated because of unlucky drains. That is something I do struggle with. Once I feel the table will not play along with me I can't really play that well and need to take a break or change table.

I think that's cool idea for ppl with powerful pc'c to record and show some gameplay highlights.

About my high score, it's nothing special, if you count 96M and divide this by balls played you got 16M per ball which is relatively easy to achieve, you need huge luck to connect this into one game but it's only luck.

I play this table from day of release almost everyday, few times i managed to run left ramp from Cash Reg 20K to Extra Ball to Dine Time Value 12M consistent, when i play i don't give a fuck about drop targets, grill or multiball saucer, i'm aiming only for left ramp, cup and right saucer, rest will come when you miss a shot :)

My 96M game finished after i drained ball during Dine Time at 12M ;( It was easy over 110M score...

From that day i've never scored higher then 40M but i love this game anyway.

One day i'll build Vitalik statue out of used AMD gpu's.

I run a 27" gaming monitor for PF, only 2 screen so it's not very demanding.  I run a 1050ti ftw and I'm able to run 95% of tables with quality AA and brute force 4xAA with good fps and no signs of lag, there's a few with modulated flashers like Scared Stiff that I can run with 4xAA but on the rare occasion it will drop some fps and it's enough to ruin it for me so I'll end up just disabling 4xAA for those specific tables (I can't tolerate any lag).  With all that said, capturing your display and recording video is really taxing on the system, I imagine with a high end set up you could pull it off, but if it were me and I saw it drop some fps just once while I'm trying to get a high score I'd probably shy away from recording.  That's why I suggested maybe just recording with a camera on tripod but if you can pull it off that would be great.  I can usually can at least take the default high scores off a table but nothing that really compares to the scores posted here, so it would be nice to see some game play to maybe see if I can pick up any tricks/techniques to up my game.

I would have guessed that if one turn of some of the more taxing graphics stuff - the recording would not be a problem. A couple of rounds without amazing graphics is a small price to pay for VP fame ;-)

So I'm a little bit frustrated :bye2: , because I just get a highscore of

102.620.670. :dblthumb:

But I have no proof, because the table doesn't show scores above 100m. So there is only 2.620.670 and it isn't in the highscorelist.

Is this identically with the real table?

For me the play to get an highscore is:

Shoot the left ramp over and over until you get the 12m dinetime; then shoot the extraball, which is lightning after a few shots through the left ramp.

If you always shoot the left ramp the score climbs to 300.000 for every shot. But only with this you have to shoot a few hundred times to get 100m.

So go for dinetime and spot the customers, then you can get the 12m.

With my score of 102m I have four times dinetime and four extraballs.

My last ball start with a score of nearly 80m. So I do not play on risk and go only for the left ramp and always the 300.000 points.

After each ball you get a tip and if you are in the higher regions of the score, then also many millions are added.

Recording: I have tested it a few weeks ago and the tables are unplayable for me. I don't have quality-settings, but the balls stucks every second and I have a fps under 10.

I don't have camera, only in my smartphone, but no tripod.

OK, I can hold it in my hand but it is hard to play only with one hand. :db:

But with the new PC, I'm sure, I could make recordings in best quality and I would like to make an archive of good pinball-games and release them on YT.

I guess nobody reached 100M on real table :D

But when you start a 4 players game and get some score, you can see there is no more space or digits for numbers grater then 99M.

Wonder why the score is not saved as GC with 2.620.670, should be? I don't know.

Anyway good game man.

That is not a problem Joey. We believe you - like always in this thread. Diner wasn't designed to go this high. Congratulations.

And one thing Joey. When you get a new computer, things will change slightly I believe. So, do expect to struggle a bit in the start. One get used to small things without noticing.

All the system 11 games either roll at 10M or 100M.
I was going to post about the 100M rollover after seeing 96 the other day but am busy with work.

So games like Diner.Police Force, Black Knight 2000, Roller Games, Radical etc roll at 100M.

Hey all , I finally gotten around to build a hiscore posting system. Made a small UI to register & login to test with, but eventually it would be nicer for full screen app to launch from a cabinet. If I can get out of this phase we'll see how it goes.

https://www.dropbox.....21.31.png?dl=0

Don't ask on what that background is doing at the moment....I was messing around with stuff and had to put a fix in and BG was still there.

There's 3 games supported for the time being. BSD, AFM (Groni), Funhouse. I'm just using the VP multi installer, which gives you the Vp9, Vp8, Vpx executable.

To register..... the password needs a special char, Upper case and a number. <= This may have caught you out because I forgot to add the validation to tell you this.

You can add up to 10 players per your machine. So if you have a friend with you, you can add them as a player. Pick your players before launching game and it should add their scores to database as well.

All you have to do is launch, play the game and then submit the score after VpMame has closed.

You can use this call for the time being to see if your score has been picked up hiscoreapi.horsesoft.uk/api/Game/LatestScores

I need 7 balls for this score; so between 14 and 15m for each ball. But I also have many games with only a small score. And I play many games. :-)
If after the first or second ball the score is bad, I restart the table. And it makes me very angry, if I have a good score and the last ball goes in and drains. It's better, you don't see my reaction.;-)

I drop F bombs and C bombs constantly when I play.
Hate a last ball drain when on a good score.
And I'm one to restart after a bad first ball, but that said, have put up many a massive score after a bad first ball.
