and then directed me to where i could purchase the hosting services

@DNAdisturber. I'm running docker with some websites exposed to the internet. if you can put your site to a lightweighted docker container, and set the data to a mariaDB (maybe that will be much faster to display some pages ), I can host it for you (I have fiber connection)

Hopefully the connection problems will resolve quickly. We need to beat those high scores!!!

Great table this week, Gottlieb created some of my favorites in those years. Lights, Camera Action was killer because of the interactive backglass back in the day. (This vpx version could use some TLC ofcourse, but still a lot of fun). @DNAdisturber....hopefully Mike Da Spike will/can help out!

I'll try and fix it first as trying to get it to work on another site would take up a lot of time and effort

 

I think the issues now are related to the number of players and the number of tables (including the 40+ that are in development)
The query's take up longer unfortunately (maybe also because of poor coding on my part )

I tried to speed up the weekly challenge one (on the website) by changing the code and that helped a little bit

 

 

Hmm this could also be as to why is isn't working as it used to

perhaps a new mysql server or a shared one that isn't optimal to say the least
It's around the time that the site stopped working properly
I sent an email to the webhosting provider but they are not well known for their customer support i'm afraid

Hmmm... it's down again.
Looks like when your mysql is started the issues happend.
I hope thwy fixed it, as some good scores where not submitted and some test scores where submitted.

Yea i get varying errors.

 

One time i will get SQL errors, next i will get an error that this site doesnt exist and then an ad to sign up with the provider
sometimes it just times out etc.

 

I dont think all of that is just bad SQL, bad SQL should not result in a page telling me how i can subscribe with that webhost.

Was afraid of the answer from the webhosting provider
Nothing about that something changed....php version and sql query's on my side is their story
So i will try and update the php code (they must have changed something because it worked before but it's old php code)
quite some work though

 

If that doesn't do the trick then i'm afraid it's the end of the leaderboard

Because something changed on the host, they just are not telling him what it sounds like.

Have put the website on php 7 for now (hopefully i'll upgrade it to 8 someday as well)
This means that all php scripts are broken and need to be adjusted
Did this for the hiscores.php page and this time it seems to be stable
I also did the php for submitting scores to the database
So scores will come in but can't be displayed on your cabinet yet and on the main page

I have about 75 php pages to do out of 80
So slowly it will all be working again i guess (hope)

 

Sql query's all stil a lot slower than before so this is also an issue for the large consuming query's

i'll need to find a better way of getting the data out

The Weekly challenges for normal and 5 minute mode are working again

@DNA: Hopefully it seems to appear light at the end of this long, long tunnel. Thanks a lot for your efforts to keep this great and astounding project alive. It's a pity all these scripts are damaged. Unfortunately I'm not a programmer so I could offer my help.

I think i figured it out but to proces the data is different so i have to adjust the php code with the new query
