@wiesshund

For quiting the table I juste press Q one time an the Quit menu of VPX appear on the screen and press Q again to quit VPX

Waiting or not Waiting between the two Q key press don`t help for the freezing issue.

It wont, you are literally not waiting for anything, other than you to decide.
the table is not waiting for any process to finish, it is paused

i gave a way several posts above to test.

i cannot run the tests for you because i cannot reproduce the issue, i even tried on my laptop, which is very slow

and my old desktop, which is very old.

@wiesshund

On my setups I’m all with the x86 version

VPinballX-10.8.0-1467-262f2d7-Release-win-x86
VPinMAME-sc-3.6-607-51667e2-win-x86
B2SServer-2.0.4-b752605-Release-win-x86
dmdext-v2.2.1-x86

Are you in x64?

I don’t know where the issue has started.

did you try what i suggested a few posts back?

I have vpx in both 32 and 64 bit, in 10.7.3 and 10.8 and the GL builds in 32 and 64

but i cant make that issue in any of them

@wiesshund

I think the computer speed has to do with the issue of the subroutine loop

If I understand correctly, in the sub there is a loop to prevent the score to be reset
And a check of a lamp status just before the controler.stop?

Do the manual thing i suggested trying, go back a few posts

and try what i said with the magnasave buttons

See if that does anything

The wait in the routine is to make sure that the match counter is not still running
because these tables will signify game over and then go and calculate the match

I think though, that it winds up hanging the table indefinitely, if i remember right, hence it is commented out

@wiesshund
Is it possible to replace the loop by a real time timer?

Like
Wait 2 Second

This way the computer speed could not affect the time needed for the wait

:( try what i suggested and see if it even works or makes a difference.

you can have all the time in the world with that, to see if it even does anything.

Well I give up. The focus issue is intermittent, but I still don't have a cursor. I can't make any adjustments on new tables because when I hit f6 or f1, I can't quit the table with those boxes open. I also tried deleting the registry key for vpx when I upgraded. (Saved a copy, it didn't work so I put it back)

When was the latest version with mouse support?

I'm seeing two closed issues on github concerning no mouse cursor in Feb. and Aug.  In the notes on both Toxie says to update scripts.  If that doesn't work you would have to go way back before Feb. builds and it would basically be pointless then because so much other stuff would be broken.  I would suggest try updating scripts per Toxie.

I'm not sure what scripts he means. I overwrote everything that came with the exe.

@Itchigo  I usually just copy the entire contents of the new version to the VP directory. Is it possible that you are clicking on a desktop shortcut that is pointing to an older renamed version of the Exe file?

All the tests done from your post #904 and the table dont freeze or crash when hitting the right magnasave button.

Exit the table after 10 seconds

Start the table again and the table start on ball 1

do you mean table starts with the ball still in play, or starts clean?

if you mean starts clean, then on the normal version of the table, try putting a 10 second loop in the table exit sub?

Sub table1_exit
dim c
NVramPatchExit
for c = 1 to 10001
   if c = 10000 then
      Controller.stop
   end if
next
End Sub

Or

Sub table1_exit
NVramPatchExit
vpmTimer.AddTimer 10000, "Controller.stop'"
End Sub

@wiesshund

When I start the table, The ball is automaticaly loaded in front of the ball launcher

Is it what you ask?

Added the timer between the NVramPatchExit and the Controller.stop command

Played 1 game

Exit table and the table freeze and crash

I think the issue come from the loop on this subroutine

Sub NVramPatchExit
    If LampState(GameOverLampID)Then
        Kill GetNVramPath + "\" + cGameName + ".nvb"
        Do
            LampTimer_Timer          ' This loop is needed to avoid the NVram reset (losing the hi-score and credits)
        Loop Until LampState(20) = 1 ' when the game is over but the match procedure isn't still ended
    End If
End Sub

as i said before, that loop is commented out, for a reason, and you should not uncomment it.

it will freeze any machine, in any version of vpx

hell it will freeze 10.7.2

Put it back like this how it was

Sub NVramPatchExit
    If LampState(GameOverLampID)Then
        Kill GetNVramPath + "\" + cGameName + ".nvb"
 '       Do
 ' LampTimer_Timer ' This loop is needed to avoid the NVram reset (losing the hi-score and credits)
 ' Loop Until LampState(20) = 1 ' when the game is over but the match procedure isn't still ended
    End If
End Sub

Oupps! :wacko:

Sorry! I forgoted to comment the NVRamPatchExit line

Now My table1_exit sub look like this

Sub table1_exit
'NVramPatchExit
vpmTimer.AddTimer 10000, "Controller.stop'"
End Sub

This way the table don't crash anymore so the game seems to be resumed because the ball is loaded automaticaly at start without pressing any button at the table start

@wiesshund,

I commented it when testing with your suggestion from your #904 post before

The table exit like this don't solve the freeze issue

Sub table1_exit
NVramPatchExit
vpmTimer.AddTimer 10000, "Controller.stop'"
End Sub
