Hi all, I was interesting to share some highscores of visual pinball so I landed here ^^

Then I cfg PINemHi, started a game and pressed V to see the rules : modification of features forbidden and extra balls allowed. :stunned: i'm ok to start with standard features of gameplay, but extra balls it"s a bit disappointing.

So it's prettycool to share scores but limited by the way it's played, however I think it will be too difficult for them to manage scores of everybody with modified roms, than I understand to take it part with standart.

So here my point, why they don't upload the modified roms (whith just no extra balls) on their website, to be sure that everybody start with same rules, maybe copyrights probems or something ?

Just saying that because on some tables, extra balls are easy to get.

btw Thanks all for for the support you give with Visual Pinball ;)

If you can reach 5B, you can also reach 9B, it just means you get the right extra balls when rats&bats bonus are high.

Yeah, I know the Dracula rules very well. It's deffo one my favourite games. I've tried to use similar rules on my table. I didn't realise that you were saying your score wasn't posted, that's harsh. It happened on my 4.5 billion but I know it definatley works now. I did spend a whole day vigorously testing pinemhi and all seemed find, even taxi. I mention taxi because that table was the only one where it seemed to have a small problem with at first.

Like DNA said its best to change the exit key if you haven't already and when you have finished table and the screen comes up to post the score, use the flippers left and right a couple of times on the yes and no selection just to make sure. Maybe the last bit is supersticious but it seems to work :P

So here my point, why they don't upload the modified roms (whith just no extra balls) on their website. Just saying that because on some tables, extra balls are easy to get.

It's a good idea, I like it. I would like to play in a papa tournament style fashion too with no extra balls, extra rubber posts and some lane posts removed. Not sure how much of a pain this is for dna though.

If an nvram was shared with tournament/hard mode settings in the rom this would work the same way? Doesn't have to be a modified rom then.

What did you change chepas, that makes all table register without problem now ? Only the exit key ?

(I still cannot submit score with taxi, and got sometimes NGP like yesterday with Dracula)

@Redafoe : I don't understand your point, what is disappointing with EB allowed ? I would be disppointed if I earned an EB and cannot play it ! And as EB are allowed, there's no specific ROM to use ?

NGP is back again, on a 9.5 billion points on Dracula, argggg  :BDH:  :)

Sorry to hear that..
What key is your exitbutton and which version of vpinmame are you using?

Great score btw

I think it's still ESC key. As it was working for most of the tables I didn't try to change it (and it's my exitkey for HP too). Do you think that might be why I got some erratic problems ?

Yeah, I use E for exit in hyperpin and pinemhi. It may be that it crashes in background because of the conflict of ESC with VP

The Challenges on http://www.pinemhi.com/hiscores.php should be fixed !!!

I kinda broke them in an attempt to make it easier to add new challenges and check on all the tables if the challenge was accomplished (-even on retired tables- )

I think it's all good now but if anyone should notice that when they submitted a score (and it's on the website) and the challenge was accomplished but you didn't level up please tell me

It's easy to look in the database to see if you really made it and to see if the challenges are working okay.

@xio I would definitely try setting the exitbutton to "e"

Allright after some fixes on the challenges it's now time again to focus on "earning badges" for certain accomplishments , it's about 85 procent done....

Just tested the insane challenge and it logged my score and it also upped me a level.

Finally worked out how to play TAF ..... pity it has the bug where THING takes the ball and you dont get it back.

Whoa....what a score....nice one....
I'm always glad when i get 100m on my cab.... ;)
Thanks for testing.

Glad that this one registered....
To make sure that the scores keep registering you might want to use "e" as exitbutton.
Don't know for sure but that's maybe the reason for some scores not to register. ( tip from chepas aka horseyhorsey)

OK did a quick test and leveled up the next insane challenge ..... what I do is exit pinemhi and play a new exe, not play in the same session and also wait about a minute before I exit the program after logging a score in case of lag.

I will test some quick games in 5 minute one after another to see if it still plays up.

Yea , it's been like that forever. Don't even bother trying it again, it will fail everytime. FS version is fine.

Not really, it works on my laptop, but I didn't try yet to change cab settings, and this is where I couldn't submit scores. I hope I'll be able to try it this week end

hi ,hope someone can help with a problem i have.I have got everything working ok but when i play the games using VP man i have to disable directdraw. Is there any way to do this while playing the games to submit the scores to the leaderboard as i have flickering and disappearing ball issues that are cured by disabling directdraw.

Hope this all makes sense and thanks in advance.

Hi flashingblade,

Do you use pinemhi in combination with vpman ?
I think you propably mean vpinball.
You can start the vpinball exe and then change the setting to disable directdraw. Then close it.
The change will be saved an when you start pinemhi vpinball will have directdraw disabled.

I have turned on Hardware device rendering and changed my screen resolution from 32 to 16 and this has helped a lot. The only problem now is the tables don't work via VP man with directdraw disabled but i can work round that by switching the settings when i need to.

Thanks for your help with this and thanks for a great Add-on for VP! :Worship:

It's there but a bit hidden:

It's a mod table , these are listed in their own category
