Gangway is adjustable via the ROM menu system.  In attract mode press the END key to open the coin door, press the 0 key to enter diagnostic mode. press 0 again to enter the menu system (main menu), using the 8 and 9 keys cycle through the options until you get to the adjustments menu item, press 0 to enter that menu item, using the 8 and 9 keys cycle through the menu items until you see A2 Feature Adjustments, press 0 to enter that menu item, using the 8 and 9 keys cycle though the options until you see 06 Gangway Start. press 0 to enter that option, using the 8 and 9 keys cycle through the options until you find the value you want (value can be between 75,000-250,000), press 0 to accept that value, then continually press 7 to exit the ROM system and return to attract mode.

(Any wonder why I was called the ROM Settings Guru?  :)  )

I believe 150,000 was the default starting point for Gangway though.

Hopefully the fix holds. :)

TA is right about the score gangway values.

When I get home tonight. I will post a new rev of FH for you guys to play. Rev E now has my final collection of physics that are based off of clarkkents physics. I am now using these physics on all of my tables and am very happy with the results.

Just please continue to verify that the fix is working.

Thanks guys.

I was playing the VPX version and took a break. When I went back to it---nothing changed--computer was never shut down, and now when I go back to it I get an error Active X something or other and an error pointing to line 200something which calls out the cgamename command. Crazy. I tried rebooting but continue to get the error. Guess I'll play the VP9version. Man --this table is tough

Your a rom nerd ta2686 - and we are both lucky and happy to have you my friend !

So, this means that we should actually adjust it down to 75,000 and then distribute a nvram file - because the default rom is a 150,000 ?

That sound weird Bob. But, I've seen Active-X eror messages happen when there is something wrong with the rom. You could try to change to rom for the VP9 version to the same that is used inside the VPX. If you still get problems then I would delete the nvram file first, if that didn't work, maybe even re-download the rom and clean the registry for that specific rom. The cgamename = "xxxx" is normally the name of the rom file that the table uses.

And for wrd1972 - that fix still holds. 20'ish games and no issues at all.

Yeah, I doubled my last score.

Great score Bolt !

I have to verify this - not in front of my cab right now, but I believe I have 16,3M as my best.

Since 150,000 is the default, I believe that is the value that should be used. But since I don't participate in this I will leave it to the competitors to decide.

@Thalamus - NERD?  I thought I outgrew that term decades ago!  :)  That was why the term Guru stuck!  :)

I struggle quite a lot with hitting Rudy when I need to. Happens a lot that I'm at midnight, but, can't get the MB started because of it.

Sounds like there is a new version on its way ? I like the physics, but if someone that owns the real thing says he prefer someone else' tweaks, then I'm looking forward to this new version.

Me too. Most times I don't hit Rudy's mouth. It's very hard to shoot. We will see, how the next version with other physics work.

But the table is now also fantastic.

Here is a beta table for you guys to play. I have made it easier to hit Rudy by increasing the friction and strength. Believe it or not, it is hard as Hell on the real thing to...so much that I tweaked the bracket just a bit to allow the flipper more motion because the trap door was impossible.

Anyway, the sticking balls in the hidden hallway should be fixed. Some other physics tweaks. Let me know how it does and if its still super hard to hit Rudy. I will gladly adjust the table on the fly and try to have something final for the weekly challenge ASAP.

Thanks. Looking forward to try out these new changes when I arrive from work today. I hope you haven't made that shot too easy either. I remember it wasn't easy to start MB on the original way back then. The main reason for me being annoyed at the game :-)

Curious, what's your best score on Funhouse ?

Hm I don't see a big difference to the old settings, with the exception that I don't get more than 10m points in a lot of games. :bye2:

And I hit rudy still very rarely. :tapping:

I reduce the flipper elasticity of the right and left flipper to 0,85 and the EOS torque to 0,65. So it's a little bit easier to get the ball under control, when he hits the flippers.

That's only a little difference, but I get 28,6m in the first game. But this can also be random. :db:

Yeah, I agree Joey. I see that he made the flippers 100 stronger and that he changed the friction for the upper flipper from 0,7 to 0,85. I don't know, but I kind of feel that I had a bit more control on 1.2d. But, that might be because I had gotten used to them. I will try you settings.

And ... wow - congrats on that 30M. I have to work hard to beat that one for sure.

I just tried smoking crack before a few games and still couldn't score much more than a million.

Probably gonna stick to Stella Artois for my next session.

@loka : Thanks for the vid :-)

@Joey : Like you settings. Felt I got back the control needed. I made the upper flipper like the bottom ones. Played 4 games, two of them over 10M, and I still missed Rudy a lot. But, that I'm sure I'll be able to adjust in my brain shortly.

0.8, 2400, 0.85, 0.25, 0.7, 0.07, 0, 0, 0.65, 6

I wouldn't mind playing with these settings the rest of the week.

Probably going to stick with wrd1972 settings once the week is over, I think they might be a tad nearer the real thing.

I have just changed the angle of the upper left flipper (Leftflipper1) from 122 to 117 and the extra angle that the flipper goes to seems to have made the chance of hitting Rudy a little more realistic.

Hope this helps.
