Hi,
   I joined up last night on the website, received my "code" entered it in my ini file, seemed like i was all set. Set up the front-end, played a game of Cirqus Voltaire because i noticed that there weren't any scores for it, after i played my game I received the message from Pinemhi that the score was submitted successfully.  But i don't see it on the website? nor do i see my name in the dropdown of players.    Any info would be great, oh yeah great idea on this software.  Hope it catches on.  The next step would be to actually play VP multiplayer, now that would really kick-ass.

Keep up the good work...

Hi Shredhed,
Cirqus voltaire is the one that actually doesn't work as jpsalas use a new rom that isn't working yet in pinemhi.
You should really try out some other games to see if it's working for you.
Make sure you have the lastaccess timestamp enabled....not default on 'on' when using xp , win7 vista
Welcometo the club... :drinks:

Thanks for the info, I tried Cactus Canyon and TOTAN and neither scores posted to the website, even tho i received the msg saying that the score was submitted.

That could be because your firewall is blocking it or
the timestamp lastaccess for files isn't turned on.....when you set it to on you must also reboot the pc to take effect.
If you changed it to on and then immediately played a game then this could have caused it.
It could also be because of a typo on your name or code in the ini file.
They can only get checked when they reach the database so it submits it but when it wants to access the database it gets rejected as the name or code is not recognized... :drinks:
P.S. Your name will appear in the list when you entered your first score.
You can however find your name in the challenges already

Ok I've ensured that UAC is off, I rebooted after setting timestamp, and made my CAB a DMZ on my router.  I played a game of Cactus Canyon, Submitted my score, got the message it submitted succesfully, but still not on website..

If it is my username/code, how can i verify it??

If you could send me your ini file using pm i can take a look...
Another possibility could be that the nvram directory is not correct...

yeah Baby !!!! got it working!!!!

Dna gave me the idea when he mentioned dir paths, etc.

it was the line in the ini for the exe for vp9.  I had:

VP9=c:\games\visual pinball\VPinball.exe  (actually vp9.1.4 named generically for HyperPin)

I changed the filename to :

VP9=c:\games\visual pinball\VPinball913.exe

and BINGO !! my score was posted on the website(under Cactus Canyon FS)  Sweet !!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their help !! See you in Hi-Score land ;-)

p.s.

As a sour side-note, i do get program errors when exiting vp913/914 when returning back to the front-end but whatever......

Just an odd idea for Shredhed, I've had it claim to report a score but not report a score when I had VP running before Pinemhi.  You're not running VP before Pinemhi are you?  Just an idea...

Hi,  If you mean manually double-clicking and running VP before i run PinemHi no...  I just run Pinemhi and play table thru the front-end.  But hey thanks for the input..... :-)

Okay , you figured it out I see.....

I see your score on the website

I'm curious how you did it so it may help others

Now it's a genuine welcome to the club :)

-edit- you just posted it, i must learn to type quicker i guess

As a sour side-note, i do get program errors when exiting vp913/914 when returning back to the front-end but whatever......

what kind of program errors do you get ?

We probably can fix those as well

Another idea Shredhed, is make sure your cactus canyon is 1.0.6,  DNA Disturber just changed versions, so make sure you have PINemHI 2.1.1 FS as the old version 2.1 FS has a previous version.   Your score may be in the retired section of tables cause you are using differing versions, Just a thought, may not be relevant

Also I believe you may encounter other table problems if you are not using the latest version VP9.14, according to the error posted it looks like you are using VP9.13,  again just a thought..

I had that issue in my cab as well.

You can turn off errror reporting completely or just prevent this one from happening
Just google appcrash disable....

It's because i kill vpinball.exe instead of letting it stop nicely....if i do you get the choice of going to the editor...so i terminate it so you get nicely back to the frontend but windows thinks it crashed....but this is done on purpose...

:drinks:

P.s its probably best to use vp912 for the vp9 exe and vp914 for the altvp9 exe...as some tables must use vp914
But in vp914 is a bugfix which could cause some graphical discrepancies in the other tables.....only 4 tables should be run only with the vp914 exe but i already made sure of that in the games.xml file

Finally managed to grab the download.

I have an error when launching through FPLaunch

ERROR is not valid keyname

Line 1177 , %hotkey% exitkey , bye

;key to use as exit and start
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
exit=ESC

I checked the old version and it doesn't have the exit and start key in the ini.

Had another mess about and it's all good now.

I have the leaderboard files in HyperPin\Apps\PINemHi_Leaderboard v2.1.1 FS

Just needed to copy the new ini into the main hyperpin dir for some reason and along with images & misc. Score are still saved into the apps folder.

    ;------------------------------------------------------------------------------;
    ;                                  RUN SYSTEM                                  ;
    ;------------------------------------------------------------------------------;

    ; PinEmHi Leaderboard - Add dummy file named PinEmHi.vpt in tables folder

    if (tablename = "PinEmHi") {

    Run, %A_ScriptDir%\Apps\PINemHi_Leaderboard v2.1.1 FS\START PINemHi_Leaderboard FS.exe

    Process, WaitClose, START PINemHi_Leaderboard FS.exe
    WinWaitClose, START PINemHi_Leaderboard FS.exe ahk_class AutoHotkeyGUI
    Sleep, 1000
    WinActivate, HyperPin ahk_class ThunderRT6FormDC
    ExitApp
    }

Also have managed to post scores with no problems whatsoever. Nice job on the fullscreen version. Sweet as mate, thanks!

Sick, just got 3.7 billion on dracula, 30- 40 minutes playing,  posted score ,didnt work.

Nooooooo

Worked earlier for dracula.

That was launched through Hyperpin and I think even the xmls need to be in the main directory for it to work through that, maybe fplaunch forces the working directory again.  Hiscores directory is created inside of hyperpin now too. No problem all sorted again.

Well i guess i spoke too soon.  Scores don't post anymore.  Set error reporting back on, made sure timestamp is on, etc.  Played Medevil Madness a few times and the scores didn't post.  Played games that posted previously and they didn't post either.  Bummer.

Maybe it has something to do with having another program open or something , maybe the webbrowser or something.Thinking aloud as i don't have a clue why it suddenly stops working...As other people experience it as well from time to time....would be great if we could find out why this happens...:( sorry guys

Hi guys,

Maybe in some way the selection which rom is used is sometimes messed up.
And because of that the scores can't be read as they should and therefore the scores don't submit the way they should.

As i have added the hiscore saves maybe we can check if this is true and pinpoint the problem.

When you get a hiscore that doesn't turn up on the website. Don't play another game but right after go to the hiscores directory and look at the .hi file from the game you just played ( it should read something like attack from mars.hi)

Use notepad or another text-editor to read it. Now check if these are indeed the scores from that game and not some other game.

If you could report it to me if it's the right or wrong scores and the vpinmame version ( probably should be 2.4 or 2.5 ) you use that would be awesome...

Tia,

Thanks for reporting this...i made some changes to the challenges so maybe i broke something...
The changes were made to add and maintain easier.
I'll have a look what went wrong and will level you up as it should have.

Thanks buddy

P.S i may have a solution for putting the hiscores in hyperpin....in selection screen so before playing a game.
Have to build it and test it but who knows...i think it has a good chance on working..

No problem.

All my scores seem to be saved fine. If there's an error report on exit of VP you need to close this window before the submit will post score properly.

The last couple of 5 minute modes were successful.

Had the same prob with the kiddie challenge ...... Dont want to risk the 100% average on the regular one til the problems are ironed out.

With testing the new version and tables, all scores went into high scores but only 2 went to the site.

Hope we can pinpoint it .

But were the hiscores that were saved in the hiscores directory the correct ones?

So if you looked inside did you see the score from the right game or were it scores from another game...you didn't really tell in your post

For instance Attack From Mars.hi contains the hiscores from Cue Ball Wizard or something.

The kiddie challenge error that you had was from a different kind, the score simply didn't come through , right?

Correct me if I'm wrong...

With horseyhorsey it did but he didn't level up

The local hiscores....

I read the xml with the games , then every time you press right or left shift i add / subtract a number so you get the correct name of the game.....

Then you can grab the hiscore that belongs to that game....using the method of saving it under its own name.....

I start the autohotkey program and then hyperpin..

But it keeps hanging after 2 presses , and i'm not sure if you keep a shift-key pressed if it will still match with the game in hyperpin.

Hmmm when i thought about the idea it seemed simple enough but it's not going as well as i thought...

Not a good idea to be using ESC for default exitkey. Conflicts with VP.

Couple of things that could be good like adding multi-user support?  And a simple timer overlay for 5 minute mode?

Couple of things that could be good like adding multi-user support?  And a simple timer overlay for 5 minute mode?

I don't follow you with the esc....if its regarding my previous answer to your post maybe i didn't explain it very well....as vp isn't even started yet..
What i was trying to explain is that i use a program that i start before hyperpin that reads the hiscores and displays them in hyperpin with the selection screens...you get to see the hiscores before even starting a game....but it doesn't work quite as well as i thought it would be...

.but maybe you ment something else ?

If a lot of people would use multi-user support then yes....i could put it in....but that would be much later as we have bigger problems :(

Same goes for the 5 minutemode time, as long as i can implement it without hurting gameplay.....although i like the idea that you don't know how much time you got left.....

If you saved as %tablename.hi% this works in game selection screen. If it helps.

Your default key is ESC to exit, this conflicts with VP escaping. Standard issue. Change exitkey to another key doesnt give errors and allows score to be posted correctly, at least for me anyway.
