A backdrop image with the same color levels as the playfield is much darker than the playfield when linked to the light slider. I don't know if it is a universal problem or just me.

Lighting is great though and getting better all the time. It might be better to have a use bloom tickbox if not a level box though because an insert has no light to bloom on the playfield (the glass maybe) whereas an over the playfield bulb might bloom. Not that an insert doesn't bloom, just that you would not see it.

Also is there a way to make a wire trigger lower without setting it to a lower surface?

Where did you get the Mr and Mrs Pacman table?    I actually own the real Pin and the only downloadable VP table was...just okay...    This one looks awesome!

It's a WIP VPX port of the Physmod5 Port (http://www.pinballni...4026#post104026,at top of page) which was a port from VP9 which was a port going back to VP5

Thanks-- just tried it!    I have a cabinet-- is there a FS version?  I saw an earlier post in this thread from you that stated somebody else would need to port it over-- but your screenshot showed it in Full Screen.   Just curious-- Thanks!

There is no full screen proper version yet, but it does have settings for full screen that stretches just the playfield area to the screen and the digit display will be sideways. Just untick Use DT  at the top of the backdrop editor options pane. It will be free to mod to FS after it is done if UW or I don't do it at the same time.

Unclewilly provided some models, some techniques, and is working on solutions for this table with me. If a certain Idea he has works out, it is going to take this table to a whole new level.

The Physmod version is not set to use full screen. It too can be modded though

Think there's something up the gates. Angle keeps resetting to 0. Also how to change the object to a different gate? These default gates are for ramps.

Well I finally had a little time today to really play with VPX and the materials etc.

I started on a little conversion for fun..

Dev team,

One thing I did notice at least on my end I cant copy paste script from one table to the other. I hope this can be fixed in a future update. :-)

At some point after loading a table several times, the play screen goes completely black. The rom launches but I can't see anything, so I save and exit and it works on re-open.

I'm good for about 10 edit and runs then a crash. Some times I can hear the game running somewhere, but usually not.

But most of the time even at the start the table comes up behind the editor. In XP and VP8 the fix for this was to run in I think windows NT compatibility mode, maybe some others worked. I can't find a compatibility mode that works in the Win8.1 list.

I've had the same issues as well today after a wile everything crashes and I have to restart the program.

Yeah, been getting a few memory leaks making Paragon. Save before you push play :) been caught out twice now but luckily hadn't needed to roll back too far.

for gates i just set the vp gate to invisible and use a mesh from fp and set it to animate on the current agle of the vp gate.

i get crashes sometimes but it is usually when i hit play and the player is loading.

what i have found is when the error message pops up.  rather then clicking ok which closes down vp.  i can alt tab back to the editor hit save,  allow the table to save and then click the ok on the error box snf clodr vp

Ok. nice one, this is the first time I've used a gate in VP recently and had a few problems with it, so there's no chance of animating from the angle of 0 it keeps resetting to. :)

Yah, same newer issue here with the screen being black after only a few launches (does it on the default table - while I was testing some things).  Also, like others and has been a problem since the very beginning, I can only get about 8-10 executions before I get a crash. Some tricks yes, for saving work and everyone should be saving quite frequently, but none the less still something that really hope can get fixed as it's still a time eater and risky for data loss.

Has anyone posted the newer black screen issue to the bug tracker? The devs want us to try and put the issues there so that they can be more readily reviewed, better tracked, and generally be more organized about it.  I know it's easy for everyone to post an issue here (and I admittedly do still sometimes through PM) but we all need to try and take the extra time to formally enter things in the bug tracker with whatever screen captures, test tables, and details so we can help the devs better in this regard.

The crashing issue is entered in the bug tracker from Kiwi and Toxie's last post is that he's aware and looking into the issue (but has limited time at the moment).  It's good to check out any updates in that area as it really is supposed to be the focal point for bugs and everyone has access to view what anybody has posted and check on the status.

It seems to be a new issue with 1696 for me, I can't tell you what causes it, I can't replicate it on demand. I recorded it once it happened. I'll submit a bug tracker report

I lowered the backdrop's lightning height to around 850, I think, to have the table and especially the backdrop lighten up. (desktop mode)

OK i think its just currupted in vp10 MB table. reimported original model from long ago and looks like this. but in MBtable it is corrupt. will try different name maybe

same model imported into MBvp10 hmm...

As you already pointed out, the material is different, but thats not the actual reason why it looks faceted.

The material just makes you spot this effect better (as its more reflective/shiny).

The models should just be cleaned up in blender (or something else), and then re-imported again.

As for the black screen: I know about that one already, but don't have a clue yet. I fixed some mem leaks recently, but i guess there are still some more that cause the crashes, and something else that causes the black screen.

@fuzzel please explain again why mb models look so bad in vp10 and what I should do to fix. Not understanding but yes something is different :)

As Toxie pointed out earlier, you need to smooth the normals of the meshes. Export them and import the obj files in Blender. Select the mesh and press tab key you're now in edit mode. On the left side you will see a menu like in the screen shot (I'm using Blender 2.71). Click on Smooth Faces,Edges and Vertices and export the mesh again and load it into VP again.

Dont you relate the impression that the ball in the vp10 behaves a bit like rubber ball ? And dont you think the ball stops on the flippers falling from the high speed from left and right side (I know that the ball spins but is not that a bit unnatural ? (Sorry for my english)
