Is there any way to get pinemhi to report the high score of a game after the fact? I had it hang and not report one...just happend to be one the leaderboad challenge. For some reason it it exited the table and just sat on a blank screen.

Hi Dave, I'm afraid not....
But this happens sometime when you have the vpinball exe started and then use pinemhi.
Then it will kill vpinball started up by pinemhi and that works but it can't kill the other one.... But the program checks if vpinball is running and it still is , but it's the first one that couldn't be stopped.
If you encounter such a thing again , start up the taskmanager and check if there is vpinball exe still running...kill that one using taskmanager, pinemhi will go on and asks if you want to submit your score.
I would try that first as it can save your score :-)

And thanks for keeping playing....haha you seem to be the only one left....
I see you really want to get the challenges....there are more than the 22 that other people have so you could be on top of the list

I have been stuck doing real pinball of late and havnt had any better scores to submit.

As for the challenge , I stopped cause it was 100% success rate and no retries. Got scared...lol

That could be the case. I was updating and checking out some tables before hand and may have left it running. Oh bother. Guess I'll just have to play some more pinball. Durn the luck...

The challenges are great fun. They give me incentive to play and learn tables I might not otherwise go for. I've installed a number of the challenge tables just to do the challenges and found several great tables that I otherwise may not have bothered to play!

Any reason why I can't see the submit score screen after a game?

The switch modes are not working for me either , is there something that should pop up to say what mode you're in?

I can see the local high score flash screens.

No .... I had some time and it's not as cold now, so I can sit up all nite without freezing

plus it's getting harder for me to beat some of the scores of Ced, Xio and myself. So I play without submit just for fun sometimes.

I might play all day now :tapping:

Hi chepas,

I think that's because you are in normal mode.
That is just playing a game without submiiting a score.
By pressing the m , or another key if you have defined it otherwise, you should see in the bottomcenter of the screen a text displayed.
You can switch through the modes by pressing the m
If it says online hi-score submit activated you are in the right mode , now it should give you a popup window with your score after you play a game.....
If you press m again 5 min mode will be activated. You also should get a popup with your score on that mode.
If you press m again you will see no text , this means no scores will be submitted, it just works as a normal frontend would do....

Hope this helps a little, otherwise just tell and we figure this one out....

Ok, thanks , got it.
Didn't think of pushing 'm' in the menus, I was trying in game , doh

I've added a function in FPLaunch pause menu , which reads from text files that your pinemhi has produced and putting them into HyperDMD. Pretty cool but slow running HyperDMD from commandline.

I've been trying to load it from an activex object instead in ahk but i'm not skilled with it.

Do you know if theres anyway while you scroll through games for any communication instead of the pause menu?

Cheers

You mean the hiscores from the game....first i must know which rom it is to find out which nvram i should read out.
I can only find out after the game has been started so it only works in pause within a game.
Unfortunately not in the menu , it would make scrolling through the games pretty slow i guess. It would have to call the exe every time you scroll one game further.....maybe if it could stay resistent in memory it would be faster but i wouldn't know exactly...

Short answer, it's not possible for now....sorry...

I haven't used hyperdmd but am curious to what it looks like with the info from pinemhi....
If it's easy for you to do i love to see it in action in a vid or something.
But only if it's not too much trouble.

Well, it's not really that slow. Calling a scene for hyperdmd on commandline is, it's not that bad :db:. I know it's quicker on the vbs script but just don't know how to link the two up yet. Working it out as I go along.

Grabbing the info from pinemhi beforehand and they are going into /HyperPin/Hi/%tablename%.txt .

Bram Stoker's Dracula (Williams 1993).txt

GREATEST VAMPIRE HUNTER
DUB 2,819,402,420
BEST HUNTERS
1) DUB 1,882,347,870
2) DUB 1,722,450,000
3) DUB 1,253,853,250
4) DUB 1,188,892,090
LOOP CHAMPION
DUB 43

Push pause , brings up the menu and unhides HyperDMD and every 3 seconds each line gets posted to the dmd.
I didn't think it was possible there was any communication without FPLaunch for the time being but that would good to have.

I read through the thread on hyperpin and found a post you did about an ini you wrote for matching the roms. Is that romfind.ini by any chance?

Think I might have to add this leaderboard as a table in hyperpin so it can be launched from there, its great , can't belive I never tried before. Can the table selection screen be rotated? Or did I miss that too.

Forgot to ask , if I have a 50 million score posted and i make 30 million in another game , will the 30 million overwrite it if its submitted?

Good news, chepas;

While the High Score Topic's PDF lists the single highest score by a player in each game, PINemHi accepts as many scores as you want to submit---up til the Top 100 is filled out, of course.

Hey, Dna-D; Wazzup! Did you enjoy your two-month break? Maybe chase some of those 'aperitifs' that xio mentioned?

Congrats to xio, btw; is there a pool for when you hit the Trillion mark in AFM?

Welcome back, DedRok_V; as you can see, some of these guys have been practicing!

Cheers, all!

Sorted. Using your romfind section which converts to the table name then loads to dmd.

:love39:

Cheers dna

Hahaha....real life got a little in the way....no recovery from binge-drinking needed..... lol
But I lurked a lot...

@chepas an FS version is something i want to try to make as some use it in their cab...dbeedle plays this way so he would like to see an FS version also.
The text when you have no wheelimage is somewhat tricky (for me) in ahk....but i can try to make one that works with the images and when there isn't an image the text would be sideways for the moment..

It's no problem mate, I'm on a hyperpin modding mission at the moment. Was thinking it would be good to launch the leaderboard from inside Hyperpin.

Ok tricking it into thinking its a game but maybe conflicts while its running?

Can I make a suggestion as well. I have a nightmare getting to find your site, I can bookmark where I am now it but it's really hard to get there trying to search from here or google. At least put the link in your sig, add to the twitter page.
Cheers

Yup, FS would be nice but I can handle it sideways for now! One question though, is there a complete set of the wheel images available? I had an initial set and a couple tables have been added. I've used the hyperpin wheel images and they work but are larger...and I've been too lazy to go resize them!

!!!!!
Having a problem today, I've tried to submit some online scores today and none are showing up. Including one for the challenge again. I've got network connectivity and even rebooted just to make sure all was clear but, while Pinemhi is in online mode and it says all is well when sending the score, It doesn't show up. Any clues as to what is going on?

chepas;

Bookmarking http://www.pinemhi.com/hiscores.php worked for me; bury it in the pulldown as I did, or put it in plain sight in the Bookmarks toolbar.

I guess I don't have to mention the desktop shortcut for Start PINemHi, as probably everybody uses it.....I don't suppose you can 'extend desktop' to Hyperpin? (Just pipedreaming) :lazy:

Welcome to the chase!

The wheelimages i haven't made for the latest update, so unfortunately i haven't got them either....
I will make sure that next time i will make a pack that includes the newer ones as well , keeping it up to date with every release.

Not sure whats happening with the scores....it could be that the server was out for a short time?
Hope that it's nothing permanent and that it just works next time you play....

@chepas a link to the site in my sig is a good idea, i'll do that.
