Hi itchigo, if you have neather VR equipment nor use anaglyph, there is no reason to use the GL version of VPX.8.
Just the DX. And I still use all components in x86 version. VPX, b2s,Vpinmame, freezy, pup,... not a single one table of my collection (~1400 like you) is not working as it should. Even the newest vpw ones are playing in 32bit, with a few changes supported by the new "table".ini function of VPX.8

I'm using VPinballX_GL-10.8.0-1347-3d585e7-Release-win-x86

I think the latest build is 1443, so you might start by updating to that and see if there are any changes.

Anyone getting any tables locking up to where can't be close?

I did have that on some older builds.  What build are you on?

Ok... I haven't seen it for some time.  Did you open a bug report on github?

Yeah... probably should.  Best way to get your problem noticed.

Visual Pinball X 10.8.0 beta 5 and https://github.com/v...pinmame/actions master what I'm using.

You can find the build number by opening VPX, going to the "help" menu, then "about".  It will say 10.8.0 beta revision "XXXX".  The X's are the build number.

Assuming you are on the are the latest one, either you or 007 should open a bug report.  I actually lost track if it was the same issue at this point that you guys are having.  If it was, for me it was apparently resolved many builds ago... so open a bug report if you want to get it fixed... or don't... it's up to you entirely.

So I asked once already but I guess no one noticed the question. I seem to have my score behind the table screen. I cant get it to sit on top of it so I can see my score. Is there a link or directions as to fix this issue? Thank you

Yeah its the VPM DMD/display window getting behind the game screen. I can't get it to stay on top of the game screen as well.

Even the F3 PinMAME logo won't show on top. Pop up hidden behind it.  :)

I'm not sure what the difference is, but I'll try a different one. I don't have PUP, just VP.

or

VPinballX-10.8.0-1347-3d585e7-Release-win-x64 if you are running 64bit

OpenGL can act finicky depending on how your GPU drivers feel about openGL

and since you have no GL hardware, there may be 0 advantage and even a performance loss

(VR hardware has to be GL)

OpenGL was once a big thing but anymore, unless it's VR hardware DX or Vulkan is what tends to run best
I don't think GPU manufacturers expend a lot of effort towards OpenGL as it has not been actively updated etc for years

I just tried VPinballX-10.8.0-1347-3d585e7-Release-win-x86.

Zone Fury loaded under the editor again. I quit the table and then tried again and it loads correctly now.

VPX also seems to not remember if it was minimized or maximized. I have it maximized (taking up the whole screen), start a table, quit the table, and it comes back partially minimized (not taking up the whole screen). In other words it's not remembering it's settings. But at least it's not changing themes now. I don't have any themes or anything loaded as this is a dedicated vp cab. Just bare windows + updates. It is connected to the internet because I pass files and backup via my desktop, but I don't do any surfing on it.

If you open a table by right clicking it and pick EDIT

then maximize VPX, you can run it, quit to editor, quit vpx, then then right click it and pick edit it will come back as full screen

but if you double click any table, or run through a front end, it will shrink it again because those use the minimize flag

I just remembered you use win7
I am not sure how great the openGL support is in win7 drivers anymore, probably not terribly swell

I don't doubleclick tables (since vp8). I do file/open. Unless I'm playing and using Pinball X. I also noticed that while Zone Fury finally loads correctly (editor UNDER the table), other tables still don't. Is there something I can do to give the table focus? Is there a registry entry?

Is there any updates I should do as far as windows? I think I have .net 4.8 and whatever windows updates that were out at the time. (I wasn't a fan of spyware so that's why I stayed with 7), but I guess for a cab it doesn't matter. But it does go online to talk to my desktop. (This desktop was my old vp9 cab computer going on 12 years old now).

Before you do a major Windows update, you should probably update your VPX8 beta build.  It would only take about 2 minutes and then you could rule that out as a problem.  If it doesn't help you are only out a very small amount of time and effort.  A lot of things change each build and you are about 100 build numbers behind the most current.

Also... if I use the /exit command (through my frontend) the next time VPX will always open minimized.  If I close VPX manually, through the exit menu, it will still be maximized the next time I open it.  I can't remember if this was the same behavior as in the past.  I agree, It would be nice if it was always maximized.

I'm seeing a fair amount of questions related to the shape of the ball when looking at the table from directly above or when looking at a screen capture of a table. I've spent some time with the new 10.8 "window" POV system and hopefully this may help with understanding:

When using the new "Window" POV settings, the ball (or anything else) will only look geometrically correct (or at least reasonably close to round in the case of the pinball) from the Player's perspective view (ie, standing in front of the cab with camera at eye level).

Any pics taken outside of that range are going to look off by design.

"Stretch ball with table" is the option I use. The pinball still appears to be a bit distorted at the top of the table but this is the best option I've found as of the latest beta releases.
