Thanks for the clarification. What are your personal thoughts about Lucky1's DMD extensions vs. Freezy's? I haven't read that much about Lucky1's - Freezy's is the one I see reference to.

I noticed an interesting artifact - if I let Freezy's DMD window span between my 2nd (the one on my graphics card) and 3rd monitor (the one on the Intel board GPU), the part that overlaps into the 3rd monitor will refresh, but the more I push it into the 3rd monitor, the more it starts to glitch. When I push it completely to the 3rd monitor the DMD stops updating. Does this have anything to with refresh rates on the screens/monitors?

2nd question 1st

It maybe does, but once you get it on the 3rd screen
right click it and pick save global

then ALL freezy DMD's will begin life on screen 3

Then exit table and relaunch and see if it is normal

Also if 3rd screen is driven by a different GPU it could the due to dragging it across GPUs
but it should be fine beginning life over there

1st question?
Long story to short answer
Freezy made his DMD extensions open source, designed to be free for everyone, no money involved

Lucky1 has monetized things, i wont get all into how, it will just start a pissing match, he just did.

Freezy aint down with that and isnt adding support for that to his extensions
being open source though lucky1 just takes the source and builds his own version to support his monetized interests.

(super short version many details omitted)

Someone also kind of stole tech/ip from another product, which is why the forum doesnt let you type pin 2 dmd properly

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

1. I tried what you mentioned, moved the DMD (which continues to refresh correctly on monitors 1 and 2), when it cross the threshold to monitor 3, it stopped updating. Saved the position, reloaded VPX. The DMD stays blank. Interestingly, if I grab the resizing handle, as it moves, it refreshes, but stops once you let go of the handle.

2. Regarding the tangled background between the dmdext - thanks for clarifying. Clearly a lot of support for Freezy. I'm hoping it's just some obscure setting that will solve it.

is the DMD driven by a different GPU?

If so

Since the backglass does not do anything exactly taxing
Try running the backglass off the 2nd GPU
and running the DMD off of the main one

I am not sure what your setup is or what kind of video outputs you have

Thanks! That was a great suggestion - because it worked. It's definitely related to being on a different GPU. I'm not sure what the longer term implications of having my backglass running on my motherboard GPU, but seeing as it's only running video and not 3D graphics, guess it wouldn't hurt?

I've just tested with a VPX table, and I'll have to completely re-adjust my settings for FX3, but I'm curious now if I can get DMDext working with my FP tables moving forward.

I'm hoping that we'll figure it out one day, but for the time being it will have to do...until I switch my DMD monitor from my 1280x1024 monitor to my actual cabinet DMD monitor... :P

For what it is worth, displayport is daisy chainable

So if you have one displayport out, you can get a little box that goes from 1 displayport to 2 or 3 hdmi (since hdmi seems more common for everyone)

One of those would let you run all off the main GPU
