Using 1.3 I am unable to get it to register as a replacement.  FlexDMD registers ok but not the replacement option. Windows 10 64bit.

Freezy 1.73

You will need to add this to your DmdDevice.ini

[alphanumeric]
enabled = false

I have fixed all the reported problem and made a new release (again) ; 0.1.4

I have also provided a beta build of Freezy's DMD extension DmdDevice.dll with it.

I hope we are nearing a stable release with this one.

@vbousquet - Thank you for coming up with FlexDMD and your continuous support

Personally I never had much problem with UltraDMD but over the years it appears a lot of people had issues with it..

FlexDMD is now allowing those people to run UltraDMD games and the community thanks you for that..

Halen. From earlier in the thread I see that you use dmddevice. You set the location of your dmd via dmddevice.ini after starting using "freezy". You kind of set the default by the parameters, and if you have some table where you want to change it outside of your default. Then you are best off using the same ini file and adding a entry for those roms.

From the docs of Freezy - you see this example. Baywatch has a large DMD so you would probably want to make that custom.

[baywatch]
pindmd2 enabled = false
virtualdmd enabled = true
virtualdmd left = 2500
virtualdmd top = 800
virtualdmd width = 1024
virtualdmd height = 256

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

After testing 0.1.4 I can report that everything seems to be running perfectly!  Both registration steps work fine, and any problems I have had with ultraDMD are now gone thanks to your efforts.

Thanks for the great work!

Gwen

Thalamus,

I knew that and had forgotten. But I still have a question for the Kiss and Americas tables that use ultradmd which name do I use below:

[            ]
pindmd2 enabled = false
virtualdmd enabled = true
virtualdmd left = 2500
virtualdmd top = 800
virtualdmd width = 1024
virtualdmd height = 256

I didn't find the table names in the script so I can use them in dmdext. For Kiss table I tried "kiss_original_2016" but is not working.

Hmm. That is a question I haven't really though about since I have a "real" dmd, so my size and position is the same. I'm sure someone on LCD knows.

Also works great with Javier's Mortal Kombat. Thank you so much for this UltraDMD replacement! All of the stuttering I experienced on these tables is gone :otvclap:

I didn't find the table names in the script so I can use them in dmdext. For Kiss table I tried "kiss_original_2016" but is not working.

This is one of the rough corners of UltraDMD. it does not support per table configuration (whilst, some tables update the config in the registry from the script, others don't do anything). You only have the default config applying.

For the time being, if you need different DMD position for these UltraDMD tables, the only solution I can see is to modify the table script to use FlexDMD instead of UltraDMD like it is shown in the doc on GitHub, and not forgeting the FlexDMD.GameName = "a name". The name you put on this line, is the one you will use in DmdDevice.ini for per table configuration.

Vincent, fantastic effort, I am highly supportive of you and the hooks you have in it to support JP's awesome work. So, since JP may favor a 128x36 aspect ratio for his dmd presentations, that is basically a 3.5555555:1 ratio. If you add a setting that let's us just put in the aspect ratio (3.55:1) we could squish or squash any x/y combination that looks good. If you program that feature, I'd be happy to test and pound on it with some of JP's tables (Minions, Slimer and Gargamel).

This would give the ability to modify the shape of the DMD to fit any table created by any commercial or independent developer as needed.

Great ideas everyone !!

Vicent,

I replaced the AMH script that you posted on GITHUB and added a line:
FlexDMD.GameName = americasmosthaunted

In the DMDDevice.ini (config file), I added the following line:

[americasmosthaunted]
virtualdmd left = 2120
virtualdmd top = 820
virtualdmd width = 786
virtualdmd height = 188

FlexDMD is working (green) but I can't place it.

My DMDdevice.ini configuration is:

; use VPM's registry values when positioning the virtual dmd
useregistry = true
; x-axis of the window position
left = 0
; y-axis of the window position
top = 0
; width of the dmd in monitor pixels
width = 1024
; height of the dmd in monitor pixels
height = 256

When I changed the values to:

; use VPM's registry values when positioning the virtual dmd
useregistry = true
; x-axis of the window position
left = 500
; y-axis of the window position
top = 500
; width of the dmd in monitor pixels
width = 1024
; height of the dmd in monitor pixels
height = 256

The DMD has moved to the given coordinates. I think the problem is the recognition by DMDdevice.ini of the name of the table. Can you help me?

You have set useRegistry to true. Of course, once you change that there might be other tables that needs adjusting.

FlexDMD is a super alternative to UltraDMD

it took me a couple of hours but now it works.

Tried on JP´s Ghostbusters Slimer 2.1.0 FlexDMD - All fine.

Tried on Champions League - Season 17  - when i finish the table DMD don't stop and stay on screen - what am I doing wrong?

Both tables have five white dots on the bottom right of the dmd - how can i get it away
