There is no setup for priority of screens.  PinUP screens should not overlap, they could but the newest video will overlap the last video of other screen....no way around it.

you have two options;

1>hide the topper (you won't get any topper videos).

2>others have split the backglass, so top 80% of the BG is PinUP BG, and bottom 20% of BG is topper....

I would cover the dmd on your BG perfectly over with the TOPPER PUP screen,  and set the remainder of the BG as PuP BG

NailBuster,

There is noticeable ball skipping playing another game that was previously installed  and was not mod'd for PUP. I notice when I launch the table it launches the two PUP windows like with Tron. The table is ACDC 10.4 beta. For what it's worth I also experience issues with this table in Pinball X prior to the PUP install. Other tables also have drag in Pinball X that do not have it when launched directly from VP

cab is Core i5 16GB ram WIN 7 (optiplex) with upgraded Graphix and power supply.

I can click on the DMD and close the PUP windows in the background and play improves dramatically. I did not try unchecking plugins on the BG yet.

Happy to jump through hoops to play the Tron PUP though =)

Hi NailBuster,

I just tried version 98b on my W7 64 configuration, still testing with Terry's v1.0 Tron version, in order to have the same base situation.

Forced full screen mode:

My system still crashes, I tried to run the game both normal and as admin for the W200, XP sp2 and none compatibility modes. But no change.

Windowed full screen:

I have a 2 screen set up and I have configured a virtual DMD (the "use external virtual DMD (dll)" option in the F1 menu ) playing over my backglass.

The PuP backglass vids are projected above the DMD and the PuP topper vids are covering the DMD. Actualy as you also suggested just earlier in this threat.

With  your first release the topper vid popped up over the DMD and afterwards I could see the DMD again. But with this current version after the PuP topper vid has played the DMD is gone and I see only the backglass...

In addition to the video rablack98 posted but nice step-by-step walkthrough. To answer your question you need to create that folder you're looking for and you can also configure the video size either during pop install or after you exit a game there should be a pop window still open in your system tray you can open that and configure size.

Hi all,

Firstly, huge thanks for this amazing update. Takes the experience to a whole new level. Finally got things working on my win 7 setup this morning. Was the compatibility issue everyone’s been taling about. The issues that remain is that:-
A) Frequently the table just crashes on startup, simply fails to load.
B) Pinup Player has to be manually terminated each time of a relaunch of the table or a different table will cause a second instance of PUP to start, causing a crash of the table again.

All has been working fine previously and the only upgrade i’ve done is B2S to the latest version but as that’s not a factor with the TRON table I don’t think that is the issue.

Some mention has been made of this termination issue and using a batch file as a run after in VPX but I’m not sure how to create that and the issues above have been from direct launch rather than via PBX. I read the thread and the initial advice was to get it alworking without PBX first so I’ve been following that advice.

Any help, suggestions etc greatly appreciated.

Sounds like I’m complaining but I just want to get it all running to full effect to do justice to NailBuster’s incredible contribution to this amazing community.

Thanks again to all involved and also TerryRed for TRON. Just WOW!!

Nick

Please only ask support AFTER you've tried the 'new' beta:   www.nailbuster.com/nailcode/PinUPPlayer_build_098b.zip    (remember to overwrite the b2s plugin dlls when updating).

no problem...  just even with the 'hack' of running in compatibility mode for win7 (don't need it in win10)...it could cause other items.  That's why the new build which doens't need the compatibility checked.

want to support the latest build only....only makes sense..

I can confirm the PUP version I was using last night does not require the backglass settings to be checked. It ran identical without them. filename: "PinUPPlayer_latest_BETA.zip"

NailbBuster,

just tried the new file and I am having issues.

1) I deleted all files in the PUP folder and the plugin folder *.dlls

2) I unzipped the new 098b package to the respective folders (actually I lied I did not delete the *dlls but rather I overwrote them on the unzip)

3) the very next thing I ran was the installer file (as an admin) and got the usual screen with no errors. However, hitting any key would  not  allow me to move into the configurator. This is something that I did experience with the last version (that the installer does not like to be run more than once) but a restart of the machine would allow it to run again. This time however the installer file will not run even with a restart of the machine.

Perhaps I did something wrong? I never really uninstalled the old version just deleted/overwrote the files on unzip. Is there another way to uninstall that is reco'd?

Decided to revert back to old version. Everything was working well, the installer ran and let me set up topper, DMD, etc… Table started and you could see PUP was running but then VP crashed before the table could actually start. I then got this message. I assume the newer 095b is still there somewhere.

See error message here:

i'm getting confused....  what problem are you having?

you only need to run the install.batch once.  if it notices its a 'virgin' system it will automatically go into 'config screens'....if you've already configured screens (ran 2nd time) then the config screens won't come up.  If you want to run the config screens again.  Just run pinupdisplay.exe and press the config screens button.  (in this version you will see it also in your 'right-bottom-system-tray'.

is that what you are talking about?  do not roll-back....as I'm only concerned with the latest build.

ok when I had run the latest build the I assumed I needed to run the installer again. Anyway it didn't work. ;-/

I only need to unpack the new build over the old build files right?

i don't know....just delete all pup folder files...all of them. You were saying you had problems wtih acdc as well with 10.4.  don't install pup yet...get your system with 10.4 in fullscreen if you want working 100% without pinup files on your computer.

then once you are certain your system is 100%, then start fresh install of pup with latest zip.

I am not sure if this will be helpful or not to anyone, but, if you want something to test independently of the TRON Legacy table of Supreme Awesomeness, if you have Data East Batman (The 1989 movie themed one) you can try my pure PuPB2S thing I made.
This is not a "release" or anything like that, but it is what I used to get the 'gist' of how it works and it helped me understand the options.

If you want to try it, it is on my drive here: https://drive.google...pjD2nngKLLNjjcF

Note that the videos are all set to *not* play any audio, as my Batman is altsound'd up with movie OST et al.

To get an idea what it is supposed to be doing, have a look at my crappy youtube video I posted in the other thread: https://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be

-K

Do I need to edit script of the Batman table? Also do I need to create a subfolder under PUP Videos similar to "Tron_Legacy"?

Hi again,

Right, I’m running the latest version. Issues with compatibility mode sorted. When playing TRON, the playfield goes blank for a few seconds when certain events are triggered, I figure this might be that PUP is writing to the PF screen so I’ve tried to find a way to turn that option off but cannot get to the config menu. When I run pinupdisplay exe, nothing happens so that option wont work. PUP plays to the Topper, DMD & Backglass without issues.

Finally, VP always crashes on exit.

I would upgrade to Win 10 however the hardware in my cab that controls the flippers etc is not win 10 compatible sadly.

Any ideas?

Kind regards

Nick

Nevermind I needed to enable the Backglass settings. Weird because I was able to remove that setting and Tron was working without it. I'm sure I missed something =)

I did notice that I could not play your video clip names that began with a "." eg ".dancedevil.mp4". I haven't played the table enough to see if it plays in game. But it is relegated to only the files that begin with a period.  -Very cool so far!!
