New VPM build in http://www.vpforums....e=1#entry256944 that makes the sound for BSMT2000 louder again.

Please test!

I have a question concerning the light under the canon by example. Top left. I try to figure out how to lowering the light. I open table and oh! There are a lot of element. I have zero experience.

So, somebody can tell me which element to change the light ?

The light exposer can be seen directly in the screenshot in download section.

Note: i try light setting in special mode play. Also, i try the day night slider. Not really effect. Is it the new GI mode in vpx, that i read in some other thread ?

Thanks in advance.

I think the physics aren't correct the ball is much too fast for my taste and the real one isn't that fast so here are my settings for the global table physics:

Gravity constant: 0.9834

Playfield Friction: 0.07

Playfield Friction Falloff: 0.5

because this is a VP9 conversion the lighting isn't correct either because everything has a grayish tone. To change that under Lighting:

Ambient to pure black(RGB 0,0,0)

Light Emission Color to white or my favorite is to set it to RGB 255,255,240.

Light Emission Scale 4000000

Light Height 5000

Light Range 4000000

If you cange the lighting you may have to adjust the night/day cycle to your liking also.

This could answer my question from page 3 which was :

"If I want to make the ball feel a bit heavier, should I slightly adjust the gravity setting maybe from 0,8 to 0,9 or 1, or is there any

other setting to use instead for that?"

Thank you Fuzzel, good values.

An idea for desktop user.

1. Left and right metal border ends not at the top of the table.

2. The green laser from the cannon shot's right out the of table.

Thanks Fuzzel and Hanibal for the changes to the table!

I also like the additional effects that are not possible on real life tables.. :)

Thanks for the update - it looks really great!

Just to mention, maybe it's helpful:
I have noticed that sometimes the xwing is not waiting for the ball (shoot for SW multiball etc.)

But already noticed that before the update, so has nothing to do with it.

Thanks for the settings fuzzel. I don't understand all of this stuff but those settings do seem to play more like I would expect. And, hats off to you Hanibal for this beauty! I love to see the collaboration and how the 3-D models have gone in so nicely.

hummm!  i made the change that fuzzel propose.  I could definitively see a difference on the friction and speed of the ball.  But for the light in general, I don't.  I capture a video on both version to try to see a difference on light but don't see.  I then change the light emission code to a completly wrong value, like RED to see if I could see a difference, and don't any difference.

So, a sub question is this.  Is there a kind of global value for light option ?

NOTE : Light is on TABLE option.  I change day night slider too.  The playfield change a lot but ramp and lamp doesn't

There are multiple light settings in VPX: first the global table light (Ambient, Emission and so on) and second separate settings for each light. My suggested settings are just to remove the gray dust the whole table had, even the ball didn't look like a real metal ball. So what is your problem with the light at all? I can't see any problems in the video.

Toxie ... that was kinda a joke video, I did heavy modification to the tables light in the video as well as material changes and a better bulb model.... way more then can just be reported here... if Hanibal is interested in the file I can send it to him....

@fuzzel How does one remove "grey dust" ? I'd really like to find a way to brighten the balls on many tables, but I just can't seem to figure out a good reliable method.

Always have the ambient color set to pure black (0,0,0).

As for the ball: Simply pick a table where you have a bright ball that fits your liking. Then take the image of that ball (export it). And set it as the default ball image in the video preferences. Done!  :)

Hey Scotty... the "Ball_HDR" that is used in some tables is a really bright one.  It's actually a little too bright for me, but try it out, you might like it better.
