UPDATE

4.0.0 Updated 15.8.2022
- Updated to my VPX7 physics
- cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
- Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darker the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
- Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
- Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.

JP, for some reason every time I try to load the table it immediately crashes. Redownloaded it with same result. I don't understand why - Rollercoaster Tycoon update works perfectly, and have no issues elsewhere. I've attached a crash report - am using 10.71 but had to go to 10.70 final as I couldn't get a crash text on 10.71. Thank you for any assistance as I' anxious to play your next masterpiece!

That error has nothing to do with the table or VPX, but pin2color.dll and/or vpinmame (Releases · vpinball/pinmame (github.com)). Try updating those, and if you use the B2S server then update that one too (B2S Backglass Server - VPForums.org)

That is your DMD crashing and taking vpinmame out the door with it
Not sure why, but as this is a ROM operated table, none of JP's updates should have any effect at all as far as i can see.
Maybe you got a bad color patch or something?  Not sure what all you have added there.

Thank you both for your responses!  As it turns out the pin2color.dll was causing the problem - removed it from vpinmame folder and the table worked.  Everything including the freezys are the latest, and the prior version 3.04 works perfectly like all the other masterpieces you given us JP.  Will simply play this without dmd color, and will play the 3.04 version if I want color.

If I may ask...when updating Visual Pinball or Pinmame files is it best to uninstall these first or can I just copy and paste on top of what's there?  Been copying and pasting, want to be sure I'm not screwing something up...

Again, thank you both for your valuable assistance!!  :otvclap:

Visual Pinball, just copy the files from the zip
and replace, allowing ALL overwrites

VPinMAME

1st i run the existing setup.exe, and i uninstall VPinMAME
BUT i preserve the settings (it asks you when you uninstall it, you cant miss it)

Then i copy everything from the new version VpinMAME zip
EXCEPT VPMALIAS.TXT  because i dont want to blow up my existing aliases, but i do review that file in the sip to look for any official additions, like nfl
and manually add thsoe to my existing

And other than the alias file, i paste over top of existing vpinmame contents
allowing all overwrites

Then i run setup.exe and reinstall (register) it

and if you install the latest VPinMAME, you also need B2S Server 1.3.1.1 installed

I have zero idea why you get this crash with JP's table as the crash pertains to the color patched DMD
you are running and the driver crashing and taking down vpinmame in the process
But JP's table doesnt influence the DMD as it is a ROM operated table, so all that takes place with or without JP's help.

I looked at the table briefly, in the small area of script that pertains to vpinmame at all
they look identical, 3.x and 4.x versions

What is pin2color.dll anyways?

I have AFM and i have color DMD patch for it, and it comes out in color
i dont have any pin2color.dll though, not sure what that is for

It's Lucky1's plugin to Freezy's dmd extensions

I thought with lucky1's that you had to use His implementation of DMD extensions also?

Thank you very much for this info sir!  Can't imagine why the pin2color.dll doesn't like this table - looks to me like the changes JP made shouldn't affect it in this way. Must be something funky with the pin2color.dll...

It works for me. The nice thing about JP's A&RFM is it uses a different rom than the regular AFM so they coexist easily. No VPMAlias needed. The A&RFM uses afm_113 rom while afm uses afm_113b. So you need to make a folder under altcolor named afm_113 and copy the altcolor file(s) from your afm_113b folder to the new folder. Works a charm (thanks as always JP!)

yes I have the 2, as well as the latest b2sserver, vpinmame.....

of all the vpx tables that I have (several dozen), it's the only one that gives me a launch problem; But c'est pas grave, it was just to point out the problem.

I have downloaded that rom and it rom is working fine. So the rom is not the problem. Maybe delete the nvram file, sometimes they get corrupted. |That is the file in NVRAM\afm_113,nv

There is nothing special with the table so it should work fine like the normal AFM. The script is the same and the table has the same objects, only the layout is different.

merci JP

it's really strange, I erased all the nv from the directory

indeed afm LE v4 works very well

but the problem persists with revenge.   :hmm:

maybe toxie could target where the problem comes from.....

tant pis , c'est pas grave

that's not DOF the source of the problem ?...

personally I don't use it, I don't have a pincab, only desktop and sometimes 2 monitors for the bg (very rarely).

Greetings

I believe You have to edit your DOF configs
and change afm113b to the alias name?

Which is nice because you can run a MOD table that uses a ROM but needs DOF that the ROM does not contain

That is usually an issue of  vpx 10.7.1 without vpinmame 1.42 and B2S Server 1.3.1.1
But he says he has both of those

I alias the afm113b ROM for both tables
but i can try the freeplay ROM and see if it happens to me
