Try this

Load the game press END on the keyboard after the DMD goes to coin door open...
Then press number 8 if you keep pressing it it will give you four different menus when you're on a menu press the number 0 and you should get another menu on your playing field screen

In a prior post, it was mentioned that turning off ambient occlusion and reflections might improve performance.

Probably a silly question, but how can this be accomplished in a manner that doesn't impact other tables?  Does this require modification of the script?

Thanks,

Jim

Well........ you're not going to turn off reflections on THIS table! :)

You can turn off ambient occlusion though. Open the table in the VP editor, click options on the left to open the options window. On the right, change "Update in-game AO" to 0, that might do the trick. Also under Lighting, change Ambient Occlusion Scale to 0....

Hi,

i followed the instruction registrion worked fine, but when i start ultradmd.exe /config i get an error "A problem that prevented the proper execution of this program. Close the program" so what to do? Start ultradmd in a cmd as administror, all dlls are unblocked an every user has full access. Used the VPX full installer same as before.

Cab specs OS windows 7 64 bit last updates installed, 4 GB RAM, i5 CPU, Geforce GTX 960 4 GB.

Any ideas.

greeting

karlson

Can't you just double-click the exe then right click the DMD for configuration ... unless loading it with the VPX full installer works different because I install it before the full installer was invented

Stopped the laziness and manage to run the setup, it did fix my ultradmd problem and everything else is working as before. So a complete success. This setup program is too easy for new users.... we need to made it more difficult lol!!!

why people still install visual pinball in programs files is beyond my understanding....

I bet that is your problem.... IF you re doing all the instructions right.

The Visual Pinball Installation Guide tells you to put there

That's where I put it two years ago and it's been working good sense

Every program, well, lets put it 99% of setup programs always "tell" you to install it there, but that isn't mandatory. It's because people just click ok all the way without reading or modifying.

Anyways, glad your installation is ok :) but VP in program files is a no-no for me.

I don't believe it will make a performance difference, but since I'm stuck with an AMD/ATI setup, I thought I'd ask anyway.  I also installed my setup in the Program Files folder a while back, as it didn't really matter to me where the program and files live.

Is there any way that installing VP and all it's associated files on either my C or D drive (and move it off out of the Program Files location) would make any difference in VP performance?  Specifically VPX performance?

It sound strange even as I type this, but what do you guys think?

Performance enhancement? no

More like troubleshooting refinement ;)

So... I had this table working perfectly last night after extensive tweaking, and it was launching from HP perfectly.

Well... tonight, I attempted to play the table, and now I'm getting numerous errors... something to do with the B2s settings.  I recall a "tempb2s" mentioned in the script error, and the b2s back glass no longer launches when I launch the table.

I have to admit... this one has me confused.  I've certainly dealt with tables that require extensive tweaking before they work properly... but this is the first time I've dealt with a table that stopped working once I refined the settings, etc.

Just a random thought, but is it possible the issues I'm running into relate to the file naming conventions I'm using?  I was under the impression I could use any file names, as long as the B2S and the table file "synched"?  For this table, I use the file name "amh.vpx", and the b2s uses the same naming convention ("amh.directb2s").

Any thoughts?  Would really hate to eliminate this one from my cab (it's an awesome table), but of the 210+ tables I have installed, this one has definitely been the most difficult to configure.

Jim

OK, to further complicate matters... I just rebooted my system, and now everything is working fine again.

Any clues regarding what could be causing this?

"Curiouser and curiouser!" cried Alice.

Thx a lot for the table... installation was very easy on my PC!   :)

Can I change the music volume ???    The old trick with the  " ^ Button " (upper left on the keybord) does not work... maybe because it is an UltraDMD powered table?!

How do I operate the menu???    Coin door open Key  "End"   works...    scroll through options "7" key   works.... but I can´t select or manipulate anything... (sorry, I am a noob on this kind of menus)

Or is there another way to change the music volume????

Thx :)

Try this

Load the game press END on the keyboard after the DMD goes to coin door open...
Then press number 8 if you keep pressing it it will give you four different menus when you're on a menu press the number 0 and you should get another menu on your playing field screen

This is a VP10 table correct? I am loading it in VP10. It does have the VPX extension. Am I missing something?
