First let me say that I love VPman and have been using for many years. I recently got a bigger hard drive and did a clean install of my OS and vpin programs.. I'm wondering how VPman records my data like when I edit the table info or classify as favorites or even specify which version of VP to launch a particular table. Do I have to do all of this over again or is there a way to transfer this data to my new drive? thanks!

Ok I figured this out.. edits you make are recorded in the VPMan.mdb I tested this by copying it to another hard drive that I had VPman set up but hadnt edited for ages. After I replaced the file all my edits and classifications were now there.

You just put in the path to your visual pinball exe (likely vpinball.exe).

If you installed VP to the root if your C drive, you would put in C:\Visual Pinball\. If installed to program files it would be C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball. You use this same idea to set any other paths as well. & if you ever need to set a path directing to a file or executable, then you put that in as well, like C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\vpinball.exe

But in this case, where you set it for VP in the main settings tab, it is only asking for the general directory where all your VP stuff resides. Btw, I actually don't recommend installing VP to Program Files. It should be fine if you do, but I think installing elsewhere, like directly to C drive, is the best bet. I actually have several VP installs on the same machine. I've got 1 folder/setup for all tables 1986 & newer, 1 for all tables from 1985 or older, then another for originals. So I got 3 different VP-Man's. Though I only do this because I have a ridiculous amount of tables I've collected over the past 8+ years.

VP-Man is AWESOME, I hope you get it installed & get familiar with it because it can make life so much easier. You can set every table to launch with custom settings which is great. Now I only wish VP-man would get another update to allow individual settings for the alpha slider & perhaps even more importantly the ball scaling options. This is why I don't really bother with WS tables yet, because I don't feel like changing my ball stretch options all the time manually
