OK, I have updated the table to version 1.2

Slingshots are fixed now.
The bumpers should register better now. I have changed the slope back to my original settings, as I used in my other VP9 tables.

About the error "could not ...bla...bla": I have removed all the graphics that aren't needed. In the zip file you'll find two folders with extra backdrops and balls in case you want to change them.

Let's see how it works smile.gif

JP

Thanks for fast update
I have played and i see bumpers .... not better sad.gif

Yes JP thanks for the fast update but alas.... I still see the bumpers not working for myself either. They don't flash, no sound effect nor do they score any points when hit.
And the Slings... well they still don't want to register a hit either, no score no hit sound effect. Everything else on the table seems to work perfectly. Animation is smooth, Box Rotates and works, the Center Loop looks like it's fixed for Multiball... Very Strange indeed. I was wondering if there was a way to setup VP or the Script to debug it.

Thanks Again and I do very much appreciate the time that you put into all of this for others to enjoy.. smile.gif

OK, I understand what you mean now. All the time I thought that the ball just goes too fast trough the bumper area so they don't register any hit. I have been changing the table so the ball actually hit the bumpers a little more, and I'll update the table in a few minutes since I already have worked on it, and the bumpers do actually hit the ball a little more.

But I see that this is not your problem. The slingshots and bumpers work on my two computers (one with HR and the other with HR off), so I have no clue to why it doesn't register the hits on your computers. Have you tried Destruk's registry keys to turn on HR all the time? I know it is a long shot but you could try that.

JP

OK, I updated the table to 1.3 (and this will be the last for today smile.gif )

The only thing new is that the ball should bump a little more in the bumpers area, scoring some extra points. The only thing I did was to increase the elasticity of the rubbers around trhe bumper and I made the bumpers a little bigger. If you feel the bumpers are too strong and you would like the ball to keep bumping there a little more then just reduce the bumpers strength from 8 to 7 or 6.

I have searched for the registry keys in the site, but I can't find them, so I post them here.
Both the bumpers and slingshots work ok for me. I use the key on on one computer to force to set the HR always on, and the other I have it always off. As I said it is a long shot, and I don't think it will help, but you won't loose anything trying.
As you'll see in the zip there are three keys: one to turn the HR always On, another for off, and another for removing the registry key so VP works as default.

JP I tried the following -
1) in the table itself I turned off Hardware Render, saved the table, exit VP, reload VP, open table and played. - Same issues
2) in the table itself I turned on Hardware Render, saved the table, exit vp, reload VP, open table and played. - Same issues.

Ran Destruk's registry fix (searched the forums and found one that allows you to Turn ON, OFF, or Remove the key, which is nice so I can reset everything back since this is the only table that I seem to have a problem with.

I see others posted above me having the same issues with the slings and bumpers. Hmmm very strange that some see this issue and others don't.

Anyone know how the Debug Window works when you hit the ESCAPE key and select that option? is there a Global Variable which could be set in a script to activate the feature? or is there something that can be added to the script to dump output to this screen?. I've coded a number of VBscripts using MS's Visual Basic Development but I'm not familiar with the internal Script Editor that is with VisualPinball.

Thanks Once Again

Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is TOM 1.3 plays smooth as silk here with the bumpers and slingshots animating and registering just fine. The bad news is I now have to disable Hardware Graphic Rendering to play VP9 tables which means the graphics don't look as sharp as they should. I guess I should be happy that I can play the tables at all, but if anyone else has any other ideas on how to fix my problem, please let me know as I would like to play VP9 tables with Hardware Graphic Rendering enabled. wink.gif Hi jpsalas,

i found the bumpers problem in the script.

I donīt understand that. In other Vp9 Table self script and Bumper works.

I change the Line 81 in the TOM script

Old Line
vpmNudge.TiltObj = Array(Bumper1, Bumper2, Bumper3, LeftSlingshot, RightSlingshot)

New Line
vpmNudge.TiltObj = Array

Bumpers works and Slingshots.

Slingshots works to much huh.gif

Hey there

For those who having Problems with the Error in HA. Try this to solve the Problem.

In the Editor click on BACKDROP on the left Menu Bar.
Activate Options in the Left Menu Bar.
On the Right you see a Entry called "XY Rotation"
Set this Value from "360" to "0"

This will fix the Problem.

Plays like a dream now! No stuttering at all!

I guess i need to mod it wink.gif

wink.gif Hi jpsalas,

i found the bumpers problem in the script.

Thanks Gordon for the fix... now the table is a bit harder with the slings working yea they are a bit nasty on the kick hehe. But, then again the table it was still hard to play with out the Jet Bumpers working since I could never complete the Straight Jacket Illusion. blush.gif

BTW: I'll be posting a little snippet of code shortly for anyone that needs a quick and dirty debugging output for their scripts.

Thanks Again everyone
Cheers

If that works, that would imply that they are disabled as if the table were tilted all the time. Not sure why, as I haven't looked at the script yet.

I had a new problem today.

After playing multiball, I struck the magnet side of the trunk as it was rotating back to the start position, the ball got stuck, as if magnetized, then never returned to the playfield, even when the ROM reversed the cube to let it go. The image of the ball was still stuck to the cube. Not sure what can be done about this, but wanted to make you aware of it, JP.

I hit the right inner loop after a Status Report period (holding the ball for better aim) for Lock 2. The ball never came out again, tilting didn't help as the ball was still stuck.

I'll see if I can reproduce those errors.

I have updated the table to 1.31. I have removed the vpm.SolGameOn to fix that problem with the bumpers and slings not working. I also have fixed a ball stuck when shootiing a slow ball from the shooter lane.

I have also updated all my other VP9 tables with some changes in the graphics, nudge, fadings lights and some settings.
