Those flippers look awesome! Watching some of these models come together make me want to dust off my maya skills.

As with all 3D modeling programs...there is a nasty learning curve...but you'll get it after a while. There is tons of tutorials on YT, or just ask...maybe me or some other can answer your questions.
So....good luck Nomorestalker! :)

"on with the show...this is it!"

Well bodydump said a few things were preventing him from releasing his No Good Gofers update, to be specific the Jump ramp never having a good solution.  So I'm pleased to say I have a model finished for the jump ramp and just need to map it.  So that's one step closer for another great update on the way!  There's still the issue of the Gofer's popping up and having their metal 'hats' fit the table and the one moves a ramp up which I'm sure we can find solutions for.  Bodydump has his hands full with this Looney Toons table but I'm hoping to have all his NGG issues resolved by the time he's ready to focus his attention on it.  So here's a rendered preview+animation of the ramp.

[edit]: Okay after carefully watching some videos (more closely this time lol) I see the entire mechanism gets pulled down, I thought it needed to be 2 separate objects but it can all be one....so my rendering is wrong.

Slam Ramp with mapping now.  All ready for a hole in one!

Maybe tweak the mapping a bit - but this is pretty much another job chalked up.

I don't like how the rivots on the ramp flap ended up so bright in the baked texture for VP....wanted them to look more like they do in the 3D rendering.

Is that model in 2 pieces for the animation.
It looks so damn real

Great job

Great job

As I mentioned earlier, it doesn't need to be two pieces because the main shaft pulls down into the table via a mechanism under the playfield pulling the slam ramp down with it.

Previously I thought something made it slide up and down the shaft which would require two pieces.

@randr: Yes I used your photos for reference for the model and the steel texture on the main ramp flaps to make it look legit, but the rest is mental ray steel.

[edit]: Having a fresh eyed look I notice the black ball bumpers are supposed to have a section of exposed steel at the bottom that I'm missing.

Slam ramp all done now, got mapping tweaked to a point where I'm happy with it.  It's a tough call in many pictures the lower portion of the ramp can almost appear black depending on how the light hits it, but this way the metal texture is clear on it, if Bodydump prefers we can always darken that part in the mapping post production any ways.

Dang dark that looks totally real!

You guys have got it down to almost building a table piece by piece. This has come a long way from sticking invisible walls on a photo of a table. :dblthumb:
