Wow!! That is super impressive. Unbelievable lighting like a real pinball machine.
The pledges are coming in slow now, hopefully it will get there.

Thanks to www.pinDMD.com we now have Timeshock! running on a real DMD! It really is cool to see something that has always been virtual becoming at least a little bit real! We had been wondering whether or not our pinball cabinet should use a real DMD or an LCD screen - I think we now know the answer.

Please keep spreading word, we're very nearly two thirds funded!

Many thanks,

Ade.

Hoo boy! Get those pledges in!

There is a new update.
It shows support for real DMDs.

Looks great.
I hope this project will be a success.

Upped my pledge to the $250 beta access level with the support for the PinDMD. To me, it shows that they're committed to cabinet support and that's what I want. Let's get this thing done!

from an update

Yesterday was a great day for pledges! Thanks to all our new backers - we are now over two thirds of the way towards our goal with about three quarters of the time remaining!

We've had a few requests from backers asking to see something new running on a phone or tablet, so here's the attract mode sequence running on the iPad with the ambient light and general illumination turned off.

Thanks for all your support, please keep spreading the word and we can hopefully hit our goal with time to spare!

Ade.

Yup. LCD please. That DMD looks awful. It's cool that it's running the Pro Pinball display though, but it isn't as nice as it looks on a computer monitor. Partly down to the grid effect of an LED DMD but also I think there aren't as many degrees of brightness.

Anyway, I doubt Timeshock will ever be a real table given how unenthusiastic the pinball/gaming community are about this Kickstarter... the Farsight loving morons.

I will give you that the DMD used in the demo has some ugly gridlines and doing a demo while there is so much light is not the best.

But I think that DMD is way better than LCD, the brightness is much more "crisp" and they use 16 shades so dont understand what you think of when saying degrees?

There are better LED DMD's out there.  I have a blocky Vishay and it looks kinda shitty, so I put some window tint on it and it hides the blocks somewhat.  I then purchased a better non segmented one, incredible looking.  and with the PinDMD2 you can adjust the brightness/contrast to your liking.  This is going to add realism to timeshock.  Great job guys!

Yes I put in £100 (90 + 10 p+p) to get alpha/beta testing rights. That way should be able to give input and make suggestions that might get added. Plus a few other things are thrown in for that pledge. Apparently they will be posting more info soon.

Any idea when they might have code to alpha test?

I wondering how far in advance of the product release we'd be able to get a look at it....

Here is a cut and paste from a post over on the PinballArcadeFans forum which has good news from Pro Pinball KS page.

START:
Here is a comment from the Pro Pinball developer which might be a good reason to increase your pledge for the Pro Pinball Ultra Edition Kickstarter to get Alpha test access. This means a copy of the game up to 3 months before anyone else! :)

"Exact Alpha testing dates will depend a bit on platforms. But early October should be possible for all the current platforms".

Asked about whether ball spin will be supported in the new Pro Pinball Ultra, the developer said:

"Actually, the original version of Timeshock! did have a 2D spin model. BRUSA and FJ both had 3D spin models. Of course, to go one better the ULTRA version of Timeshock! we will have to create a brand new 4D spin model. ;-)"

Superb news!

Also, I think the camera is having a hard time focusing on the DMD properly, especially as the image changes rapidly.  I don't think it will look that "muddy", for lack of a better term in person.

I'm really looking forward to having this on my cabinet.  It sounds like they are really committed to good cabinet support and real DMD output is the icing on the cake.  They mentioned on youtube they're going to get their own cabinet.  I mean not only are they supporting portrait and 2/3 screens, they are rendering a special view just for cabinets.

Get those pledges in!

Really need everybody here to start supporting this project.  If a VP table can have thousands of downloads in 30 days, I really can't believe that Timeshock is sitting at well under 900 backers in over 30 days, even with the big ass ad Noah put on the front page here.

I even told the Pro Pinball guys that most of their support would be coming by way of people in these forums here, because it just made sense, & that no way would we let the KS fail.  Timeshock will blow away T2 on TPA, so it certainly should be able to get the same funding if not a bunch more.  Nothing against T2, but Timeshock is that revolutionary, as is the new software that drives it, I'm sure.

I'm into pinball today, especially virtual pinball, thanks to the first iteration of Timeshock years ago.  This time around it will suck in a new generation again, I promise that much.  Especially with it being on tablets.

I think that the lack of interest is the lack of gameplay shown. All we have is a lightshow. I need more than that to fund this.

The gameplay is amazing in the initial versions of the games. Surely it won't be worse. As far as I know it's the only pinball sim that implements true ball spin (not the illusion of).
