Do you still (mainly) run a very old Windows version with VP?

It seems like someone should create a new poll referencing VPX and the version of Windows everyone uses now.

By now it's actually not that important to know anymore. If we change the VPX rendering core at some point then we will go directly to something very modern like DX12, i.e. Win10, as everything else does not make too much sense (i.e. Win7 & 8 home users mostly have migrated to Win10 anyway) and due to the effort it takes nowadays to switch something like that (efficiently!!). The other option would be something like Vulkan, but that might be even more effort, and we only have limited spare time.

I would have stayed upgraded to Win 10 if it liked my FX 9590 CPU better than it did. Random crashing crap.
Good to hear that, for the future, that more modern DX support is happening. Look forward to it! ![]()

No worries. Until Mukuste did VP in DX9, I thought that VP wasn't capable of being modernized. You stating of a future upgrade on VPX to a more modern version of DirectX has me breathing a sigh of relief.
Keep up the great work!

Everything is possible, it's always just a matter of (continuous) spare time! Going from DX7 to DX9 was a big time killer, as all kinds of code also needed to be modernized and rewritten while keeping backwards compatibility.
The same was true when going from VP9 to VPX, as all rendering code (and much more) was touched and adapted.

hello, the reason why I still use XP, is that I had a machine with about 10 years old, almost without any use, put a PCI express video card 9500 I did some tests and it worked great, it is not an i7 but it fulfills its function, I clarify that it is a windows Xp 64 BIT, I apologize for my English, greetings to all who make up this great community
