There's tactile feedback and there's monstrous tactile feedback   :8):

From a German electronics supplier i just got this puppy in .........ohh my....

T4McL7T.jpg

These things are used to mount onto a car chassis for some hefty feedback.....i'm gonna use one in my pin !  :B):

Now i already have great feedback from my quad transducer setup, but this one goes DEEEEP .........and i can

control it perfectly with my new amp.....it has a separate sub out with volume control up front.

Those amps are all the same Lepy clones and are all the same, just get the cheapest one you can find.

Now how's that for a well suited brand name  :D ...... i call it the LOUDvpin

This is again a HUGE transformation in audio immersion.......DANG! these things are great !

Total overkill........but hey, it's only pinball  ;)

Very cool... I have a bass shaker pro that I am adding to my cabinet soon when I do he whole SSF thing. Right now I do happen to have all my audio being run through a big Denon receiver that sits outside the cab... it also has a dedicated Velodyn sub amp connected to an 18" sub under the cab. The bass is great... I'm actually looking at using a smaller 10" sub sitting under the cab after I put the SSF stuff in the cabinet. I have 4 exciters ready to go as well.... Have to tackles some major things first (just swapped out the PC so loading everything from scratch)

Nemo, that looks like some sound system. It makes me wonder if anyone uses their pin can as a jukebox. If so, what software can be run with the flipper buttons.

How I built my B2S Pinball Cabinet, step-by-step, with pictures!  Full-sized cabinet for ~$700. Believe me, if I can do it, so can you!

Dang !

Spent the better part of yesterday and this morning/afternoon figuring out a problem i had for a while.

Ever so often i have had some switch bouncing issues and only on the left flipper. Now i'm aware that

the i-pac's have a much, much higher polling rate versus the way slower switch (and the often even slower

person pushing the darn thing). For the longest day i have a .1uf ceramic cap in the switch line for debouncing, but

still ever so often you just could not hold the ball on the left flipper. (it's on ALL tables).

Now with installing the stupendously cool bass shaker the problem got much worse, even unplayable, what's going on ??

Surgery time ! And i had a suspicion....... With my trusted scope i set out to probe all voltage lines NOT hooked up to the computers psu.

I have a bunch of laptop bricks and wall warts in the cab, and sure enough the one i installed yesterday to power the shakers amp had "some" ripple.

It was more like Dave Grohl ragging his distorted guitar over that 12 volt line.......that was seismographic "ripple" .......

I will inspect that psu later as i suspect it to be a knock-off-imitation-china crap-Mean Well-copy.......sure it says Mean Well on the sticker, but this would be the

first one to die on me in a loooong time. Secondly i rearranged a lot of wire, separating the voltage from the switch lines, always a good plan in any setup.

I already had the SSD EM shielded with a copper plate as it sits nearby the shaker, and i now did the same with the i-Pac, it's too much, i know......still..

Anyhew, installed a fresh shiny new psu for the Bass Shaker and all is good in vpland again  :dblthumb:

@Boltbait, there is some cool jukebox software available for the cab, i have seen several postings here on the forum.

But didn't i spot some vinyl records in the background of your cab pictures ?? Surely a turntable beats a vpin ?  :hmm:

I lost all my vinyl records YEARS ago... :D

What you see in the background of my pinball machine (which I'm working on in my living room) is my CD collection (on the left) and my DVD collection (on the right).

I have ripped most of my CD collection and my pinball machine has a 2.1 sound system in it, so I'm thinking of filling my SSD with music after I finish downloading pinball tables.

UPDATE: The dead DMD screen  :bye2:

A Month ago or so my bodged up DMD solution died, the ccfl inverter/driver was fried. Perfect excuse to install one of those candybar panels.

These can be readily found on Ali and such. They are half 720p resolution (1280x390) and shipped to Netherlands for €71, great bargain !

Now for that price it can't be a new, unused, Toshiba/Matsushita panel, and indeed they are not, my guess is they came out of POS machines.

They are however nicely refurbished and do look quite good, nice n bright, funny enough the backlight counter was reset, ohh well.

Hmmmm images don't seem to work......

If interested in pic's, read on here

Ohh here we go :)

One further note on this particular lcd, it was advertised as TN class tech, but seeing the incredible wide viewing angle its more likely to be a VA or even IPS panel.

Played a lot last few days and i must say the DMD looks just great, very happy with it  :dblthumb:

UPDATE: The Dead Motherboard....

Well this can happen always ofc since it's quite a few years old, but indeed the motherboard did call it quits and won't power up anymore. Dead as a doornail.

As we approach fall 2020 AMD is very much king of the hill with their Ryzen's and also price wise it just makes for a good deal, i mean common a Ryzen 5 3600 for €169 is rediculous.

Install is a breeze, so on with the fun part, software !

I have numerous backups and images ofc, but i was curious what would happen if i just swapped out the nvme and let it boot, see, the old system was intel based, this one obviously not. Sure both X86, but still, i was not prepared for what happenend next......

Windows did some updates on microcode and stuff and after one reset and choosing a different audio controller in vpx i was playing ball in two blinks of an eye, unbelievable.....that was very different in the past.

I applaude !!
