I too am having trouble running the UVP on this table. First, if I ran the .uvp through the ultravpserver.exe I could see the lights did not match up. Then I noticed the backglass I had was over 20 megs in size, so I redownloaded the one from this site and everything aligns properly. So that's good. However, when i run it through the table itself, I don't get the backglass, the uvp exe runs and when I close it, I get the following error: "class doesn't support automation: 'controller.changedlamps'. Sometimes, its line 456, other times its another line. Yep, I removed the ' from the bottom of the script for the "subs leds_timer" section, I ensured the timer is there in the editor with the 50 setting and it is named LEDs and the hidden = 1 is there AND the set controller is pointing to the UVP.

Any help is appreciated, this table is indeed very awesome, great balance between difficulty and fun Rob, well done.

UPDATE

v1.6 - Updated, added more PF lighting.  To go with that, used Eala's new stacked post models which show additional lighting effects.  Added koadic's latest alpha plunger system.  Updated ball rolling sound system using jimmyfingers version.  Some tweaks to physics.  koadic's code to choose VPM/UVP/B2S by just choosing a number at the top of the script has been added.  Maybe other small things I'm forgetting.

Rob, this table looks terrific. The physics are awesome. Together with Cosmic Gunfight this is one of the most realistic tables. Thank you!

UPDATE

v1.61 -Fixed glitch, Revised FS view settings, fixed UVP code that I forgot I removed.

Btw, if UVP still doesn't work, then I don't know why & I can't really test it right now.  I'd really need somebody with a working UVP to tell how they got it working.

Also, let me know if the FS settings are good.  I added a little extra layback, set it to 90, & even still I'm not seeing as much as the front of the drops as I'd like, but I don't want to overkill the layback since it seems you FS users usually don't go beyond 80 or 90 with it.  Added just a couple degrees of inclination as well, so maybe that will help a little.  Then adjusted the scaled & offsets just slightly to fit the table in the screen better.  Does it look about right in a cab?

For UVP, the only thing missing now is the timer called Leds and interval set to 50. It's easy to add it though.

I'm still debating if I like these FS settings or the previous ones... I think I like the somewhat more "flat" view of 1.6 better but that may be because I'm a tall dude (6' 6") so my view of a real table is more from above than the average person's. I don't like to see too much of the side of the flippers because that's not what I see in real life playing a pin. But this is of course a personal preference.

I'm wondering: what was the "glitch" that needed fixing?

Thanks for this table, it is excellent and your recreation is an exceptionally real looking, detailed work. Challenging as hell of a game too.

Oh crap how did that timer get deleted!  I certainly didn't do it on purpose, not sure how that happened.  I'll be updating in a minute.  Yeah if you are 6'6", then you could very well want to do your own settings that seem more right to you, but you are also MUCH taller than the average person.  I'm pretty normal height like 5'11" at most, but I also hunch over a little bit when I play pinball & can usually see the fronts of all targets or drops pretty well.  But in many VP FS tables I often can't.  So this version I think shows a little bit closer to what the average height person would see in real life.

But as we all know, its impossible to get a perfect view in FS.  You just try to get as close as you can.  You can use the old settings.  Its actually easier than ever thanks to VP915 to tweak views to your liking.

The glitch was that when I updated the PF lighting, I forgot to update the 9 lamp, which was an old mistake.  So in the off state that lamp would show a 6, then in the on state it showed a 9.  Plus it looked glitchy.  That is fixed now.  & this upcoming update will just have the LED timer.

This is a challenging game.  I finished building it right after I played the real game a number of times at PAPA.  If anything, it is maybe not difficult enough.  The difference probably being that VP nudging is often easier than real life nudging.  Oh, & btw I forgot to mention that I did tone down nudge strength on 1.61.

This is a classic Bally, & these were infamous for being drain monsters & this is why they were often set to 5 ball.  Mystic was actually used in the PAPA tournament a couple years ago, so that alone should tell you that Mystic is a challenging game with skill involved.  You won't get many high scores through luck.

It is possible to rack up some good scores on this though.  Again, timely nudging helps.  Use the geometry of the game to your advantage, figure out which shots from which flipper are less likely to drain your ball.  For example, maybe hit captive ball using left flipper instead of right.  IDK if that helps, but I did this on the real game & so I spent a lot of time tweaking flipper physics on this game to give the flippers the right settings to be able to pull that off.  Which isn't very easy without upsetting some of the other shots in the game.

Every time I boot the table, I need to reset the ROM with F3. The computer crawls to a 1 frame per second if I don't.

I'm using the .nv you included.

Any tips ?

Other than that, an awesome table.

Physics seem spot on !

I don't know about that one.  You could try deleting the nv that came with the zip, but I don't think anybody has ever had an issue with that.  Its really just there so that you can have the recommended factory default settings.  The game settings are kind of uneven without it.

Does this happen on older versions?

Oh & about the physics.  As usual I'm always in a struggle with myself to find the best settings, trying to weigh pros & cons of doing things things way or that.  Table is now a little faster.  The only reason I sped it up a little is because on the previous version, when you had a cradled ball then let it roll to the end of the flipper, I felt it took a little too long to get there, which kind of slowed the flow of the act of shooting.  I think that still might be a little slow, but its better now with the increased slope & a little more ball gravity.

I think some details I did were definitely a slight improvement, but regarding slope & game speed I still don't know.  As you can see I'm really trying to nail down old Bally physics, which for some reason is more challenging in VP than say a modern table.  & am a crazy about the ball seeming to travel too slowly along the filpper?  I have a real EBD next to me which actually does play pretty fast, but the fact that I just installed a new clearcoated PF on the game doesn't really make it an average playing Bally, it is sped up a bit, probably even more so than when the game left the factory.

Sorry but another update, hopefully this is the last one for a while.  v1.63 is worth grabbing for everybody because physics are a little further fine tuned, plus added missing UVP timer.

v1.61 & v1.63 - Fixed glitch, further tweaked physics & a couple minor things, Revised FS view settings, fixed UVP code that I forgot I removed & added timer.

Deleting the .nv solved the issue I was having.

Re installing made it return.

But since I'm the only one having it, the error must be on my end.

I'll do some more digging and keep you posted.

Again, thanks for this awesome table. All your efforts are greatly appreciated !

Son of B !!.  I just burned an hour after downloading this fine table.  I still relatively new here and ignorant on a lot of things the game makers talk, but I am having no problems (other than keeping the ball in play  :pinnochio: ).

I played a few try out games with the table only. Then changed it so the direct back glass.

Fast table. Kind I like.  I have no problems on my mini-cab with PBW and the plunger.  The nudges work great. The plunger works great. The graphics are very nice. The direct back glass is beautiful.

Nice work, man.

Together with the B2S a treat for the eye and the physics feel great. Unpredictable behaviour of the ball, you can lose a ball quickly. Nudging is very helpful and feels great too. Quality release, thanks Rob!
