Hi, Great looking table. But i'm not getting any ROM sounds. I get all the gameplay sounds, bumpers, flippers, etc. But none of the ROM sounds play. All the ROMS are OK in pinmame. Any ideas?
thanx.

Try hitting F3 to hard reset it when the game is running. That usually clears that up.

If that doesn't work, try exiting out of VP altogether, including closing VP, and then restarting VP and then the table. I don't know what you have to do further for a cabinet setup but that works for me for the desktop table as occasionally I lose the sound when changing from one table to another.

I tried F3, no differance. I tried exiting VP and restarting, no differance. This is the only table(85 total) that this is happening on. How do you turn up volume on this table? the END key doesn't seem to "open the door" like on other tables. I'd laugh my @ss off if it's just cause the volume is at like 0 or something.
Thanks for the tips so far :-)

Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the rom volume for this table. The real table used analog controls to adjust the volume, which are not emulated in VPM.

ta,
im pretty sure i can use + or - for the sound level on all or most vp9 tables.
i get a green bar on the screen for the sound level.
i have tried all the suggestions in the thread.
using + or - i get the green sound bar level.
it only raises the plunger sound.
still no table sound for the older Dec 2010 table.
plunger sound only.

did i miss something?

The + or - keys do not affect the sound coming from the ROM image as far as I know. I know for a fact it has no affect on the volume for a table like Phantom of the Opera which has very quiet ROM volume currently.

Just did an test of the + and - keys, and found that using the keys affects the system volume itself in VP, not ROM based or embedded sounds seperately. If you use the + key to raise the volume, ALL sounds are affected as the system volume itself in VP is raised. So I can not say that using the + and - keys can effectively adjust ROM volume without affecting all other sounds in a table.

Believe me, I've done a lot of research in ROM based adjustments, as proven by all my tutorials hosted here. I had originally forgotten that I did look at the + and - keys during my research, but since back then I determined that those keys did not adjust ROM volume only while leaving the embedded sounds at their original volume, I dismissed them as effective keys in adjusting ROM volume.

dl'd the new ES in 911.
have not yet extracted or tried it.

tried all the suggestions in the thread for the older ES.
i pretty sure there are 2 ROMS for ES.
have both.
so what now to get the sounds from the table or the ROM for the older December 2010 table?

I have a feeling the problem resides somewhere in the table script. I just tried the Eartshaker roms in my VP8 setup and I get all the sounds, yet on my VP9 setup with the 4/3 VP9 table I do not get the music, just as you do with this FS version.

In fact, I just tried the VP8 table with VP9.12 and was able to get the music as well. So I believe the issue is with how the table was scripted.

i could be wrong but without going back to the thread i i think i saw something that the author did not add the sounds to the table.

looked in latest updates.
the only update is for the 911 LR/HR911 table.

I'm confused now. Since the music comes from the rom image, why would he need to embed wav files into the table to get the music to play? The VP8 table does not have embedded wav files for the music and the music plays fine in that table.

Something really strange just happened.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I opened the VP8 table in VP9.12 (on the system where I have the 4/3 version of this table) and was able to get the music. I have since opened the 4/3 version of this table (which I had said I could not get the music previously) and now got the music to play on it. So I am almost sure that it is the table script that is causing the music not to play when the table is loaded and run for the first time (creating the cfg and nvram files).

I would suggest then in the meantime, until this is fixed, to open and play the VP8 table one time to correct the nvram. Then play the VP9 table and you should have the music playing.

Just a guess on my part.

Great conversion fast and shiny !
But I have one major bug with the fault under Visual Pinball 912: the fault opens and close immediately, so the ball is never locked and always goes on the left. I try to check the script and timers but I'm not expert enough. Any fix please ?

did not work.
what about this script error you mentioned?
if you came up with a solution what do you change and where?

i can see nobody has replied to your Q.
not sure what you are asking.
what fault opens and closes immediatly?
could you be a little more specific what the problem is?

im using the vip(visual install pack 3click) at www.pinballnirvana.com

used browse to install vip3c to C/program files.
right click.
extract all.
use the browse.

used browse to C/progamfiles/pinball to install the latest pinmame in the pb subfolders and overwrite the old pinmame.
right click extract all.
use the browse.

install the desktop execs the same using browse to install into the pb subfolders.
right click extract all.
use the browse to C/programfiles/pinball
after installing vp8 and vp9 desktop execs right click on the silver ball.
send to desktop.
this is your shortcut path.

Have not found the error in the script as of now. I haven't had the time to really look at it as I have other more important real life matters to attend to and my time is somewhat limited.

When I played the VP8 version first, I played a full game, without the F3 reset in the middle of the game. I was then able to get the sound to work in the VP9 version. Not sure if you really need to do that, though.

there are 2 vp8 ES.
played the vp8 MOD full game to the end.
went back to the ES vp9FS.
still no sound.
then tried an F3 reset in play.
did not work.
maybe the author Bmiki could tell us how to fix it.

Great conversion fast and shiny !
But I have one major bug with the fault under Visual Pinball 912: the fault opens and close immediately, so the ball is never locked and always goes on the left. I try to check the script and timers but I'm not expert enough. Any fix please ?

The fault is also misbehaving for me, preventing balls from being locked that way (it's a feature of the playfield: it says Nevada and California. The ball is sent there from the kicker in the upper right corner). Its supposed to send the balls to the shelter lock, but it doesn't.

Does it work for others?

I'm using VP9.12 and VPM2.3, on Windows 7 64-bit.

Yes, same problem here..when lock is lit the vault should be open en the ball has to fall into the hole, not going to the left, hope they can fix this!

I think I also have this issue... the fault is always closed.

Would be great to see an update to this classic table bmiki!
