A couple ideas for an update...

What about putting the logos for each table on the table score pages? A little eye candy and maybe have them available for download as needed.

And...maybe an explanation somewhere, of how points are scored in the rankings? And an explanation of the challenges; what they are and how to get into them.

I was wondering about adding a length of Time feature; how long the high score game was played from start to finish; reset the time for a new game when pressing the Start button.

And for some reason, I keep getting a No Game Played with "The Shadow".

I'll try to work it out on my end, but I was wondering if this is common for this table?

EDIT: "The Shadow" now works, though I don't know how it straightened out???

Well.....I've played out of v.1.5 for long enough, so I finally decided to update to 2.0 (actually, the full 2.01). I clicked the desktop shortcut, got the wheel image(?) and pressed Right Shift to call up Jackbot, but when I pressed Enter, I got the stopsign, 'You do not seem to have this table'. Knowing that I in fact DO have this table (both desktop versions), I changed VP9 to VP8 in the .INI but was greeted by the same message. If I switch back to v.1.5, both tables are available for play. All of my PINemHigh-listed tables are said to not exist in v.2.01, but in v.1.5, all is good.
Attached File  PinemHigh201Diag.JPG   128.48KB   13 downloads
Comparing the Folder contents, the only big difference seems to be that games has changed to an xml file, which insists on opening IE8 (I'm running Firefox). Does this have anything to do with it? Or, have I stepped on some piece of my own anatomy somewhere. rolleyes.gif

Hi GSG,

Just got back from a vacation in the USA......Went to Funspot xiv.....got to meet hank chien (current worldrecordholder of donkey kong) .....really nice guy...
Just love the old arcade machines there...

Looks to me you've got a problem with the directory in the ini file.
I would check your directory setting for the tables....or copy it directly from the 1.5 ini so that it's exactly the same

I myself use firefox so that isn't the problem regarding the xml file......If you want to look or edit it you just can open it with notepad....
Let me know if you still have problems after copying the directory from 1.5 ini into the 2.01 version

Hi Dave ,

About the logo's , all pictures are extra bandwidth so i think i'll won't add them....especially the downloads which have to be in the biggest size to get the best pictures.

The explanation on ranking and challenges is a good idea , i' ll add them to the website soon

Thanks for the suggestions...

Afraid I'm failing to understand some things here.....isn't the xml file the directory? If so, it sure isn't in the ini.
Also, what is meant by the directory setting?

I didn't try to check all table listings, but those that I did seem to be spelled, spaced and cased properly.....

I was afraid to get totally wasted after my visit drinks.gif lol

In the ini file there is a section [path] where you have to set the directories for all the stuff
tables=
This is the one to check if it's the same directory as in the 1.5 version....

I also noticed that you put a questionmark behind wheelimages in your earlier post.....
Did you just get text or an image , otherwise you should download the imagepack mentioned earlier in the thread just after the 2.0 release.....there is a link in that thread.....pinemhi looks alot better with the images !

Oh! You mean, the Path Examples! Here they are, with v.1.5 on the left and v.2.01 on the right. Am I missing something? Bear in mind that v.1.5 is working.....

That was just to acknowledge that I may have used the term incorrectly; not having programming/tablecrafting skills, i still picture round things when I hear, "wheel". The Menu subfolder has 22 images; the other three are empty, so I didn't see 'wheel images' after all. I thought the opening screen for table selection was a 'wheel image', so I ran with the term.

Thanks for your patience shooters.gif

On the one on the right, the tables directory reads:

QUOTE
tables=C:\Program Files\VisualPinball\Tables\
(notice the lack of a space in between 'Visual' and 'Pinball')

Hi addcointoplay,

You can get your user and code at the website just like xio said.
You click on the get your user and code image , then fill in the name you want to play with and you get your code instantly.

You can download the frontend in the first post of this thread.....
Remember to read the instructions before playing !

You can also get a link to the wheelimages a couple of post higher (looks way better that way)

Another idea...is there a way for the challenges to tell you what your current challenge is while it is running? I must have mis-read my current challenge and when you sign in to get another it says the current one is still running but doesn't say what it is. Is it possible to get it to repeat the goal for a challenge?

Have to see if this can be done easily.....if it takes up too much time to get it in i'll put it in as a request for later..

I've got to be doing something wrong that's easy to fix, but I can't for the life of me get the submit screen to come up when I hit either 'e' or 'esc'. I've tried hitting 'm' before I start each game, but I have no idea what mode I'm in while playing and after finishing the game I get sent back to the table select screen with no sign of being able to answer 'yes' to submit a score. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks smile.gif
