Is there a newer PinMAME32.exe newer than 01/13/2019?

Yes something odd is going on with the Data East Implementation, where when you have the match on phantom, and it doesn't matter if it's VP9 or VPX, which points to the rom, when the match happens on any version that uses poto_a32.zip or poto_a29.zip the match slows the game down to a crawl, and it takes 30 sec + to finish the match, which then also blocks you from High Score Entry and starting another game without waiting for the match.

The reason I point at the Data East Implementation is that poto_a32 and a29 according to robwaade used to work, and now they both don't so that points to the Mame Implementation and not a particular rom version.

I wonder what DataEast is using for random number generation, and if that's using something fancy, or is no longer properly simulated to the rom, maybe a Real Time Clock circuit, as that and sound volume levels, which can be tweaked to some extent in the rom, but never sound as grand as when you play on a real table, or even Pinball Arcade's implementation on PC or Switch. It might just be that Poto is a oddball box, but it would be nice if someone could at least look into it, and confirm or deny the bug and or look into the volume limits on that rom.

Could you guys maybe test which pinmame version was the last one that worked properly?

Here are all kinds of older ones (when you continue to click on the download button they will be listed): https://www.vpforums...&showfile=11571

hmmm.. if possible, i'd need something more specific as i don't have that much spare time at the moment, so please try to test some older versions, and see if it also happens there/when it did start with the slowdown..

you cannot screw anything up by using older versions.

1) just copy ONLY the vpinmame.dll from the link/each old zipped version, that i linked to you above (maybe rename your original vpinmame.dll first to vpinmame.dll.org or something and restore it later-on).

2) run setup.exe each time you test an older vpinmame.dll and in there, press ONLY the "install" button.

When finished with testing, rename your backed up dll and also run setup.exe and press "install" again.

I do this personally all the time, there is nothing that will be overwritten or messed up.

This is a bit tricky to figure out. I don't know how to get a dmd working on older than 2.6 and it is already a problem there.

Since I don't have a dmd I'm kind of going blind as you can coin up and restart a game without any problem back to 2.0 (earliest tried) - first I thought I could use that as a test, but, that is also possible on 2.6 so I don't know how to test pre 2.6 ?!

Maybe it is related to OS - Win7 64bit ?

Maybe go back to VP8 days and tables ?

@Thalamus: Thanks.. But i don't think that this is about hardware DMDs only. So testing on a standard desktop/laptop should do the trick, too..

@toxie : I was talking about the vpm dmd. It just doesn't show at all pre 2.6 for me. Again. I might have to go back to vp9 or something. But, I think we should just make a note of this not working 100% and re-visit down the road ? For now one can disable the match feature.

@Thalamus: On DCrosby POTC, script was set DMD hidden. Have to unhide it to display the VPM rendered DMD.
