I haven't kept any old betas. I don't remember which it works with, but unless and until it works with the current one, it doesn't work as far as I'm concerned. If there was some previous release it would work with, I would not be opposed to linking it to an older version, but not a previous beta.
It is finished, It just isn't going to get released with patches of fog where light should be. Materials muck up the intention of the graphics I have put together enough.
I have not pulled it to keep it away. I have pulled it because it does not work. I will put it back up as soon as a VPX exists with clear light. If I'm not mistaken, the latest says to avoid 1 for modulation. I avoid everything but one.
are you talking about your pac man table??.... what doesnt work?.... I just played it in 1950 and it played just fine..... is this odd?
Yes. I checked 1950. It is better. It doesn't look as sharp as it did, but better than the beta before. The game does work. and those that wanted it have it, and a beta to play it on. That's why I'm no longer keeping it up. I'll see if it will be able to be worked into the release of VPX though.
Because it's done, changes are not adding anything, they are just changing things. Like the pop bumper. I made it work, the bumpers change, it doesn't work. I make it work, the bumper changes, and I change it to work that way, and still it's the same bumper. Lights are now changed and on my table they are not as good. 2 is the new zero and 3 is too bright. That can't be right. If I change the ones that don't show up at intensity of 2 to the too bright 3? This is bound to change at some point, which is the logical point to work on the more subtle lighting. All the bright lights are now dim, and the general light level is brighter. These are things that can be adjusted if they are adjustments that will stick. They are not things in my opinion that should be changed per beta.
Visual Pinball should have always been a program to make tables, not editor files that can played only in the editor.
When I get the wall based pop bumpers back in I will put it back up though. The dim lights will not show, and the bright lights will be dim, but it will play. As I sad before though, it is up for adoption. It will be better off in the hands of someone that has experience creating and using data files to make a post yellow.
