How's this? It should be 10,000,000 more as I turned over the multiball bonus at 10,700,000.

I really don't understand why everyone is stopping play when its time to rollover a table!!!. No one is sending in nvram's. Untill they are coded for individual tables, its all about the honor system. Why limit yourself, there is no fun in that, IMHO. There are no prizes, only the satisfaction of putting up a good score and sharing it with our fellow pinheads.

So if you want to show a picture of 997,234 and its only a six digit rom, finish the game, include the screenshot of when you are about to turn it over, and like always be honest about the final score in your post!

This is like golf with no mulligans, we are here to have fun and share scores, until the technology can ensure, no HACKS, a extra digit in the scores and no tilt/nudge, flipper, previous roms from vp8, or table dimensions have been altered, its really all about trust. Who is going to post a dishonest score?, well except for a couple people, you would be just lying to yourself, more than just to the rest of the community. I am going to post my rollover high scores whether the make the leaderboard or not, During sex, you dont pull out the troops early and take a picture, you make sure that the job is WELL DONE!! otvclap.gif tongue3.gif

At least have the decency to post your final score, you can take a screenshot without draining, and continue. FREE the ROLLOVER, Long live PINBALL!!!

How does everyone else feel about it??? Letting it drain is against my principles!!!

well, what can i say :

i like to tilt the pin to be as much as close as the million... its fun and harder each time of course
in the other hand, some guys may not have the passion to play again tables which are quite unbeatable under the million

than im simply OK to follow what you all guys will decide in the future Worship.gif

Hi Android,
Although I rarely play tables that have this roll-over thing issue, I'm with you on this topic (and who can argue against your sex metaphor dblthumb.gif ). As long as we don't have secure and practical means to check scores anyway, why make an exception for roll-over scores? I like your idea that people at least supply a screenshot just before the roll-over and then post the pic of the final result. Double rollovers would still pose a problem though but maybe they rarely happen?
And on the side I would remark that you inadvertently supplied us with a new cool pinball motto: "VPForums: Letting it drain is against our principles!". Maybe Noah can find a place for this at the homepage of our site... wink.gif

If there were roll over scores my canasta 86 would be at 30 million...my F14 would be like 13 million, my highspeed would be 16 million.......I have all kinds of rolled over scores but i'm not including them myself so I won't others... As I think i already stated...trying to get as close to a roll over as possible without rolling over, but beating the last highscore is a thrill too. I can't walk up to a real pinball machine and see a highscore and know its a roll over, so I can't do it with a screenshot either.

Besides if a game is that easy to roll over its probably not very much fun.

If everyone has this "anybody can just cheat anyway" attitude then I'll just pull out....its getting annoying, obviously there is a fair amount of people that don't trust us, if it has to be brought up all the time. We're not on some type of kiddie video game forum. Pinball players are generally adults and I'd like to think that there isn't a cheater among us.

I'm just doing my best in my heart to try and keep it fair. Not like anybody but a handful of people are participating in the leaderboards or have shown interest anyways. If it weren't for my leaderbaords this topic would still be just 3 guys posting forgotten highscores. Atleast now they can be remembered.

I don't know what to say, I'm just annoyed that everyone seems to have an idea of how they'd like to run it and not just be happy with what we have. If someone is so concerned about cheating, allowing rolled-over scores would just open the gate wider for anyone to cheat if they wish to.

@SM : about GRAND LIZARD, i have a prob : all balls caming from the "lock" are going right in the mid drain ... always !
have to nudge but its quite difficult to do it at the right moment, even more while playing another ball (if unlock activated by the upepr target)

do you also have this situation ?

Erm...I read it quite the opposite way - I see lots of posts saying we know anyone could cheat, but we know that no-one would here because it's just a bit of fun...so therefore you should have roll-over scores as well and just take people's word for it. That's all any of these posts seem to say.
I haven't seen a single post that implies anyone is cheating in anyway.

(and if it's not a kiddie forum, don't threaten to take your ball home when someone calls you a name wink.gif)

I agree Dan..

My point was: "Anyone can cheat anyways... so just be honest about your rollover scores." I believe that 99.9% of the people on this forum would be honest about it.

i have not read, but may be this is already noticed in the table topic from JP...

ok, just tried this :

edit the script, lines 295+296+297 : change with :

BallLock.Kick 175, 7
Switch33.Kick 175, 7
BallLock3.Kick 175, 7

(than is simply changing the exit saucer power from 15 to 7) it works perfect and now the 3 balls/2balls are caming right on the left flipper
save, and play ! now we can compete on the table

I like to make a suggestion to you guys. Ask Noah to create a High Scores forum. You could have more than one thread then for some of these scores and challenges and stuff.

I click on this thread every once in awhile, but I have a slow internet connection and the thread just starts jumping around trying to load all of the pics and unless I go have a smoke, I never do see what's happening in this thread.....

You could also re-size some of the pics before you send them or crop them a little, some of these pics are hi res pics and you're only showing a score.

Anyway, just a suggestion and I'm sure I'm not the only one that has a slower internet connection.

Now back to your regularly scheduled broadcast.

To my knowledge, the tournament frontend would also contain high score tracking on a much easier basis for the average user. Y'know, this thread is still the "interim solution until the area gets set up". Setting up a subforum etc. for high scores just for it to be surpassed by the automated frontend system would be needlessly complicated.

Also, I think pics should be reduced to the DMD area - we can trust that the table is the one that the user claims he used. Also, pics should be attached, so that only the thumbnails are loaded. Takes the stress off of the connections.

Also, the high score system in this thread will always be based on the honor system. Rollovers are very much welcome. The leaderboard isn't my yard, but this place still is.

Also, I think I'm starting to develop a fetish for the word "also". Why else would I use it all the bloody time?

Sorry, I tryed to resize my pics so they wouldn't be big. I'm not down with the thumbnails though...Then I have to click each one to see what persons score is. Just a snapshot of the DMD is also kinda **** ... i wanna see the table....So if its a real big issue...I'll just post my scores in my own thread

edit: Riple, I am just going to leave the settings how they are on Grand Lizard.

Hey McD. how long before this setup? 3 weeks? smile.gif It ain't gonna happen, it's been close to 2 years. The tournament frontend will never be cheat free, so there will be no tournament frontend. Setting up a forum should take about 5 minutes.
