There's nothing wrong with the way PINemHi is built, as long as dummies don't sabotage their own downloads (hee hee ouch!). It may be a few days before I get to it, but I'll let you know what I dig up. Thanks again.

Let me know if you've got trouble fixing it maybe I can lend a hand.......

Let's get really wasted drinks.gif

Well.....I checked, typed, rechecked and retyped the file paths for spaces and proper case (seems real hard to tell a capital 'V' from a 'small' V in that font) and tried stuff I probably can't even describe adequately, then inventoried files and byte counts between the two versions (yes, I got the 'full' 1.5 instead of the update) and never figured what was up. Eventually I just decided to try it again---and it works! Don't ask me what the heck I did to fix it think.gif

Anyway, I plan on expanding my meager table 'collection', contingent upon whether my AGP dinosaur can handle them. It'll just take some time, as I got out of pinball around 1985-86 (vendor apathy really soured me on finding honest, working machines) and I'm unfamiliar with much of the VPM world. But, one is never too old to learn, right? clnglasses.gif

Thanks again for all your work on this great project.

Gregg

But the liquor store on the corner doesn't have any pizza.

I've been getting 100% uploads of my score, so everything seems to now work very well.

I thought I'd mention, if anyone is still having trouble uploading their scores when the program is otherwise working, to try going to (depending on Windows version) Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right-Click on Command Prompt in the Start...Accessories list > choose Properties and enable Full Screen Mode.
I did this for other reasons on my XP Pro SP3 system, but from there on when I've used PINemHigh, I've had no trouble at all uploading my scores.

But maybe the server got their pizza?

Interesting, sleepy, that you mention Full Screen. I play glitchy tables (meaning just about any with multiball) at 800 x 600 x 16 Full Screen (in VP Video Options) and often lower my monitor resolution to that value as well (Control Panel > Display > Settings); but since I access the PINemHigh Leaderboards via Bookmark in my browser (Firefox, currently), I always reset the Display to its native 1024 x 768 x 32 first. True, I will probably still have been in reduced res when I submitted a score, but I don't know why that would keep the score from being accepted.

I checked out your Command Prompt suggestion. Start > Programs > Accessories > right-click Command Prompt > Properties > Options tab has the only mention of Full Screen that I see (select between that and Window). Doesn't this merely set the size of the Command Prompt box, rather than the overall image?

Oh, btw: XP-MCE SP3, Celeron D @2.66GHz, 661FX-M7 w/2GB PC3200, ATI HD4670 1GB AGP.

Re Pizza; Liquor stores are for alcohol. I get 12-inch Red Barons or DiGiornos at a grocery store, and my portable Presto Pizzaz Revolving Pizza Oven does regular in under 15 minutes, or rising-crust in a little over 20. Let the inebriation begin! dblthumb.gif (Those AA people never understood me)

Gotta watch that Red Barrons/all brands.
These days the frozen pizza manufacturers are short-sheeting us with bogus Chicken Pepperoni. You see it on the front of the box "Sausage and/or Pepperoni made with Chicken, Pork, and Beef".

But...if you buy the Red Barron Value Pack French Bread Pizza (pack of 6 for $10 to $12) at, say, Food4Less, you'll find that this is their Vendor version for mini-marts, etc. and this version uses authentic Pork and beef...no cheep Chicken.
Not sure about the other Red Barron versions, Slice O' Pizza, etc., but with the French Bread Pizza, look at the wrapper around the individual pizzas inside the box. If the wrapper has the full color logos/artwork on the front, then it is packaged for single sales (the Vendor version), but if it only has a clear wrapper with plain text cooking instructions, then it's the cheapo consumer version with Chicken Pepperoni, like Chicken Franks.
Always check the ingredients panel WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS just to be sure of the quality.

About the resolution, no, it's not about setting the Visual Pinball screen resolution. You can play using Window Mode and any resolution, Windowed or Full Screen for the table. It shouldn't matter.
It's only about setting the Command Prompt to full screen mode so that when the score is passed to the Command Prompt while waiting to be uploaded, the Command Prompt with the score retains the program Focus. In other words, so that the upload is not interrupted by other programs.

If you do set the Command Prompt to Full Screen and then play PINemHi, you will see that, after playing a game, when you click PINemHi to upload you score, that Command Prompt will open in full screen with the score visible as a line of text with a blinking prompt cursor (but not editable!).

I was about to deny awareness of Command Prompt's relationship with PeH, but I just remembered seeing it when I clicked on the shortcut I created for the Leaderboard exe---a shortcut without purpose, I guess, since the user (this user, anyway unknw.gif ) isn't supposed to run that application manually. I had seen two 'exe's and thought the second one led to the website.....wrong!

I've only dabbled in or with Command Prompt a couple of times; while trying to troubleshoot something and while trying to expand files (for instance, EX_ to EXE and so on) to complete reinstallation of 3D Space cadet. After the problems were either solved or deemed hopeless, I got the hell away from the obnoxious white cursor and the black box.

I fared much better reading the Ingredients list on a Red Baron Special Deluxe box; as you said/warned, "made with pork, chicken.....(make that, 'mechanically separated' chicken)". WHAT---they don't 'mechanically separate' the pork and beef, too? JawDrop.gif

My only complaint regarding chicken or turkey being substituted is when the trimming process leaved chips of bone or gristle in the meat; I don't recall ever chomping on anything in a frozen pizza that was harder than it should be. Buddig 'Chopped, Pressed and Cooked' sandwich meats, on the other hand, were about the worst! thmbdn.gif

Sorry, Dna-D; I'll give you back your thread! drinks.gif

But Chicken Pepperoni doesn't taste as good.
Faced with that, I often buy the frozen Cheese Pizza and cover it with Kretchmar's (sp?) Pepperoni, else Hormel. At any rate I try to use Deli-Style Pepperoni, the real deal if I can help it.

Back to you DNA, with apologies. I'm hungry.

Probably would be best off asking UW or looking in the support topic.

By the way, DedRok, do you remember how you got that X-Files score? That's a pretty good one - doesn't match my 50+ mil I posted in the high score topic, but that was before I started using this program, so it doesn't count. I can only assume it involved Blood, but are there any other tips you have? I'm trying to get that high, and I made 20 mil already, but that's it. Guess I have to keep trying.

My strategy revolves around multiple points:

1) Shoot the left ramp, get that extra ball ASAP.
2) Nail as many X-Files as possible to get up to Blood.
3) Make sure to capitalize on the following modes: Herrenvolk, Terma, Syzygy (for points) and Smoking Man (completing gives extra ball).
4) Choose Mulder at the beginning, make sure to play the Multiball when possible (since shooting the ramps is very important, the structure of the Multiball is very easy to master - 2 left, 1 right, 1 cabinet, repeat)

The McD

EDIT: THERE we go. Got my top spot on X-Files back. Just the way it's supposed to be.

That was the first time he played with PinemHi, I just launched it when he arrives wanting to play. Now that I know how it works, he will have to be second player indeed smile.gif

Btw DNA, there are some tables that have been updated in the last months, can you update the table list also ?

Sure, do you have a list of the tables ?
Hopefully the scoring isn't too different , otherwise i have to retire the old scores in that one instead of just renaming.
Or should I always retire the older version of a table?

I don't have the list, but I'll give you tables I find. As I just installed my cab, the tables I got are in their last version (if I did not dl the wrong table), so when PinemHi don't find the table it should be a missing update ?
Here are the first two (FS ones but desktop versions must be the same) :
High Speed 1.0.3 FSLB VP912
Red & Ted's Road Show VP912 v1.0.1FS

I think it's mostly graphic updatesfor VP9.12 so it shouldn't be necessary to remove scores.

With ones like roadshow, jp has removed the shaker so it will be alot easier to play.
Some updates have settings and physics changes also, so you would have to check what has been done.

Jurassic Park FS hiscores cannot be reached on your website DNA, I think the "5" is missing in 1.0.5 table name.

Edit : Sorry I found another thing, as Time Machine FS score has not been submitted (had the yes/no window, said yes, but it did not appear in the "lastest scores" as usual)
