Hi DNA,

My front end (PinballX) also uses a version of pinemhi to extract 'local' high score / special score information to display in the front end. I suspect that the leaderboard app is locking the pinballx version out of the nvram file on table exit though as my high score data in the front end is not up to date now.

Hope that makes sense, let me know if you need more info. Thanks.

Hi scutters,

You should see if the pinemhi version in the pinballx directory still works ok in commandline.
You are probably running a new vpinmame version...and the pinballx version doesn't have the right names to use for it..older version pinemhi
Especially colored roms....
this would be my guess....
Test it out and if commandline pinballx doesn't work....you can put the pinemhi.ini and the pinemhi.exe from leaderboard to the pinballx version and try again.

Most of the time it isn't pinemhi locking the nvram. :)

:drinks:

Tried again and it's now all working!?... i did update pinballx, that now has the latest pinemhi version now so maybe it was that, dunno.

Thanks for looking anyway Dna.

Dear DNA, are you still planning on 5-minute-challenge? What will it be like? Lasting for a week and you can start the challenge once or daily lasting for 5 minutes? Just curious. Thx!

Haven't got much time lately....so not sure when the new version will be released.
5-minute mode will be the same as normal gameplay....except after 5 minutes the game will end.
With the challenge it will also last one week, so it's a weekly challenge :)
This will level out the competition a bit because of the limited playtime...
May need a hyperspeed 1-minute mode for myself in the future to get to the top scores. ;)

And you have all the hiscore lists as you have with normal gameplay...and also a cup.
New version will also add 20+ games (mostly gottlieb)

"5-minute mode will be the same as normal gameplay....except after 5 minutes the game will end."
So we have to use a stopwatch or can you stop the game and transmit the actual score somehow???

Don't have to do anything...it will just stop...
If your game has ended before the 5 minutes then you can just exit of course...

Will this work in a front end as well, or is it just to press a key and the next table is in 5 min mode ? ( just curious)

Yes you can switch it on and off when you are in your frontend
You even can get warnings when you start a game to make sure you know you play a 5 minute mode for that table

Is there a chance to know, what you get points for (leaderboard) and how many? Or earn just accidentally? (same question for badges). Tables that I am running since a long time having many high and special scores its unlikely to get points and badges for, right? Maybe having two separate nvrams? Well, its just a game anyways. Still great fun!!! (but "transformers" will never be started again on my cab, lol)

Points for the cup are only related to the highest score you made per table with pinemhi leaderboard active of course
If there are 12 players for a table....the number 1 gets 12 points and the number 12 gets 1 point.
This will be calculated for every table and that's how you get your score in the cup
Best way to gain points is to do good on a table with lots of players having set a score.

First 5 badges are for scoring an x amount....the last 3 are for how much you submitted a score.
In between those there can be badges for special scores... x amount of loops or something else.
The special scores can only be noticed by the system if they are higher than the one before in the nvram.
A fresh nvram would then of course be easier to get them if you have are already high on your current nvram
You can see what the special scores badges are if you look at the images directory of course...in the name of the game directory

The scores don't really matter if they are high on your current nvram....as pinemhi will get them out...even if they are well below the local hiscore table on your cab. If you want to submit a score of a 1000...just exit the table and it will do that

Hope this is helpfull

"Flat rules" on this table, you just have to master one shot repeatedly...YOU can easily beat this score, but you dont necessarily need the highscore on ALL tables, do you?;-)

OK, takes you 10 minutes to double my hard earned high score. Must be satisfying to win by cheating?

Ive never played scared stiff in the wild and telling from the vpx-versions i will never do. Throwing a coin out of the window and watching it landing lasts longer than the ball rolling on the payfield Outlanes are like garage doors, arent they?

Totally confused.  I've installed everything but still confused on how this works.  Do I just start pinemhi and hit the key I've assigned to start the challenge and then play a pin on my computer?  Or do I have do download a certain table.  How do I know which version, etc.?

Hi Pinballgramps,

You just play using your frontend or just play using vpinball.

As long as you have setup the pinemhi.ini file and run the pinemhi_rom_monitor before playing games, PINemHI Leaderboard does the rest on exit of a game.

You can start a challenge if you want (while not playing a game) and then go to that game and try to make the score.

Versions of table don't matter. (it will determine which game it is through the romname)

Hi Guys,

New version is here

Attached File  PINemHi and PINemHi Leaderboard v3.3.1.zip   6.13MB   18 downloads

The new version can be downloaded in the first post and here of course ...It's version PINemhi & PINemHi LeaderBoard v3.3.1
I would recommend to overwrite all files on previous install , maybe rename your old pinemhi.ini to have the paths and user and code easily copied to the new pinemhi.ini file

**********************
PINemHi Version 3.3.1
**********************

Added the following games to PINemHi LeaderBoard:
Barb Wire
Mario Andretti
Waterworld
Frank Thomas Big Hurt
Shaq Attaq
Rescue 911
World Challenge Soccer
Gladiators
Wipe Out
Tee'd Off
Streetfighter II
Operation: Thunder
Surf 'n Safari
Cactus Jack's
Car Hop
Hoops
Vegas
Title Fight
Silver Slugger
Lights...Camera...Action!
King Kong
WWF Royal Rumble
Last Action Hero

added support for roms to PINemHi LeaderBoard:
bay_401
jupk_600
lah_113
lw3_300
lw3_301
tftc_400
tomy_500

*These are all unofficial roms by Pinballcode.com (scoring is different then other official roms)

added features:
1) 5 Minute Mode is back in , after a 7 year retirement !
This will let you play a game for 5 minutes only
5 Minute Mode has it's own cup and weekly challenge and of course its own hiscore lists
You can avtivate it using a pre determined key (in pinemhi.ini).
Exit key from Pinup System is also required in pinemhi.ini to function properly

2) Activation/Deactivation of 5 Minute Mode will be told using a .wav file (you can choose different languages and voices)
You also get a warning when you start a game when in 5 minute mode.
You can also turn these 2 warning functions off in the pinemhi.ini file

*Fixes
1) Freddy nightmare on Elmstreet special score (souls saved) was set too high (now set to minimum of 40)
2) The adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle , address for special score (years wabac) was wrong...fixed that

PINemHi changes:
added rom support:
ccruise (Caribbean Cruise)
kiko_a10 (King Kong)
lah_107 (Last Action Hero)
lah_f104 (Last Action Hero)
lah_c106 (Last Action Hero)
wwfr_103f (WWF Royal Rumble)
hook_401p (Hook)
bay_d300 (Baywatch)
bay_d400 (Baywatch)
bay_e400 (Baywatch)
bay_401 (Baywatch)
bay_f201 (Baywatch)
stwr_104 (Star Wars)
mj_130 (Michael Jordan)

*5 Minute mode was tested on my cab using Pinup System and also pinballx (haven't got pup-packs so hopefully that will also get terminated ok)

IMPORTANT: for Pinup System you have to set your defined exit key in pinemhi.ini to make this work properly.

maybe other frontends will react different on the exit after 5 minutes.

Have fun,
