You can check FPS by pressing F9. I always get almost same fps with or without BAM.

You can also update gfx card drivers. What is your gfx card and Windows version?

I use windows 7 64bit    2x gtx 550ti

gtx 550ti for playfield

gtx 550ti for backglass and dmd

and drivers all upto date

with bam and 1 screen setup not rotated i get 60fps

but with bam and 2 screen setup playfield rotated and 2nd screen for backglass i only get 30fps

and normal future pinball i get 60fps

it is just with bam and 2 screen setup i get 30fps.

I will check again how BAM works with 2 monitors setups (and 2 gfx).

You did not set these 2 cards in SLI?

I do preformance test with Vertical Sync Off.

I have noticed fps drop with 2 monitors setup, but i ignore it. I was thinking it is how FP behave. I have to check it.

Merry Christmass!
-----------------

BAM Update.

- Fix for broken in last release head tracking with Kinect (and probably others)
- All destop plugins now have switch "Enabled" to turn On/Off modification of Table dimensions/position and cam position.
- New "Desktop Kinect" plugin to use Kinect with TV in landscape position.

Usage:
- Kinect should be placed under TV screen exacly on vertical axis.
- Seat on couche (2m from screen... anywhere in Kincect sensor range).
- Start FP in Arcade mode
- Select plugin "Desktop Kinect"
- Switch "Enabled" to "On"
- Enter TV/screeen size
- Set Kinect Angle as You need (probably ~ +10 deg up)
- Set desired table position/size/angle. For my test i set: Scale = 2.0, Angle = 45 deg.

Tracking will work immediately. No need to calibrate. Stereo 3D mode will greatly increase feel of depth. I think head tracking with Kinect for this mode works very well. I like to make video, but it is realy hard to keep camera pointed to tv screen, move head, keep camera close to head, check image on camera and keep face visible to Kinect same time.... i need google glasses ;).

Have fun!

@andyco40

I did few tests, and i'm without any clue why You get this fps drop.

Here is list of test i have made with gremlins table:

1. My desktop: i5-2500 + Radeon 4850 with 2 monitors (2x 1366x760)

- one monitor  only, FP in arcade mode, VSync off => FPS ~110

- two monitors, FP, VSync off => FPS ~105

- one monitor, BAM, FPS => ~105

- two monitors, BAM, FPS => ~100

- any of previous test with VSync on: FPS = 60

so i get less than 10% performance drop with BAM

2. Another computer: AMD Phenom 960, Motherboard ASUS Sabretooth 990 (SLI capable), two gfx cards, first GT 650, second GTX 660, no SLI, two monitors with res = 1280x1024, One monitor connected to GT650, one to GTX660, Monitor connected to GT 650 as main.

- one monitor (GT650), FP, VSync off => FPS ~200

- two monitors, FP, playfield on monitor connected to GT650 => FPS ~200

- two monitors, FP, playfield on monitor connected to GTX660 (but main monitor is still on GT650) => FPS ~200

- two monitors, BAM, playfield on GT650 => FPS ~200

- two monitors, BAM, playfield on GTX660 => FPS ~200

So there is no performance drop.

When i press F9, FP will report used gfx card. When in windows main monitor is one connected to GT650, FP reports GT650 as used graphic card. No matter on whitch monitor is playfield.

I switch in Windows main monitor to one connected to GTX660.

FPS rise ~ 260 (with and without BAM). FP reports me that GTX 660 is used to render.

I also try to enable all "candy" options in BAM: postprocessing to modifi gamm, postFX to add bloom effect, stereo 3D mode (anaglyph), new render path... FPS drops to ~110

My conclusions:
When You use 2 graphics cards (without SLI) only one renders 3D graphics. When You connect second monitor to second graphics card, all data have to be moved to second gfx card before it will be displayed. There is no benefits to use 2 graphics cards in FP. Only in SLI it will increase perfomance.
BAM decrease only littebit FPS (if You don't use extra graphics effects).

If You use monitor with Full HD res (1920x1080), want to get 60 FPS  and that data have to be transfered over PCI-Express, it is ~500MB/s. Thru PCI-Ex v2.0 4x You can transfer up to 2000MB/s. Maybe You here have problem.

I have only 4 advices:
1. Make sure, that playfield monitor is set as main monitor in windows.
2. If You can, try to use one graphics card (or connect two monitors to one gfx)
3. Disable Vertical Sync (atleast for tests).
4. In FP menu, Video/Rendering Options You can set threading to one CPU. Please don't do that. This options should be unchecked.

Love this program! I have a passive 3D Monitor, and I enabled 3D interlace mode and adjusted the settings. Default 3D seems to have the table angled in a way where the back is low and the front where the flippers are is high (should be reversed). In addition all the X/Y table settings then have to be adjusted so everything fits into view. The problem is, I have to adjust all the settings each time I load in a new table for stereo 3D play. Is there a way to have my 3D settings carry over to each new table loaded?

Happy New Year

[...] Is there a way to have my 3D settings carry over to each new table loaded? [...]

Yes. It is very simple.

Let say You have set table: "MyFavoriteTable.fpt".

In folder: c:\games\Future Pinball\BAM\cfg You will find file "MyFavoriteTable.cfg"

Now copy it outside cfg dir (to c:\games\Future Pinball\BAM)

Rename file to "default.cfg".

Now settings for MyFavoritTable is now default settings and will be used for every table without own .cfg file

Oh fantastic - thank you! This program is just mind boggling great and in stereo 3D  is stunning. The only problem is the ball itself... when in 3D mode it gets kind of blurry, but that may be a result from using passive 3D.

G'day to everyone,

I've been trying to get bam to work with my tv using the ps3 eye camera in windows 7.

But in bam, and future pinball, and being a noob,

how do you set it up to look like it does in the videos of it running,

or do I need something else to go with it.

or is it better to go out and buy a 360 kinect and then try and set it up.

please help I'd love to get this running. :8):

PS3 is best option! you will need driver for ps3 and once that is installed set your reality settings in bam menu then "calibrate system" with 3 point cal using your face!

ok I tried that,

in reality settings I did all that and the face calibration, and all it does in the game when done,

is look like 2d still, and the camera wobbles side to side, when I move my face,

but no depth and no 3d looking like in the videos of it running.

so not sure what to do next. :hmm:

Just found out about BAM and am pretty amazed.

I tried 3 tables and for some reason all of them are a lot darker than usual.

Am I missing something?

10x times better, but now, the small boxes on the table surface that lit (lenses they are called?) look washed out.
