PQ4 is short for Pourquoi (French for Why) and 4 - Put it together to get Why for ? - Just a little play on words. The real reason is every other E-mail address ( we tried about 80) was taken. By the way, another alter-ego I had on VP-Forums when I was hiding from nasty posters was BigWind with an avatar of a japanese god of wind with a mean red face.

Gloria, my wife ( the most forgiving creature in existence ) was LadyGPz and still drives a 1981 550 GPz tup.gif

AFAIK Bob - and I'm only familiar with the pulp stories - Walter Gibson never revealed The Shadow's true identity. Lamont Cranston was certainly the most prolific alter ego, although The Shadow Unmasks (1937) reveals him as an aviator called Kent Allard. Many pulp historians claim that Allard is not the real identity and, to my knowledge, Walter Gibson has never
offered a definitive answer to the question.

I have an old Vinyl LP stashed away somewhere with many of the radio shows . . .alas, no way to play it . . . think.gif

Shadow,, You have brought back some Very Early life memories. The year was around 1964 and I was 10 years old.

On Saturday afternoon around 1PM My Dad used to like to take a nap on the living room couch. He wanted me
to listen to his old radio shows with him. One show was something about "The Shadow". During the show a very deep
voice would often say something like, "ONLY THE SHADOW KNOWS!!!!" Is this what you have on your Vinyl LP????

Hi all happy.gif

Not much to mine. I've been using this username in various places since I first started using the 'net in 1996. I was majoring in history and had recently finished a basic medieval history class and I really dig the Knights Templar. The jh is my initials. I guess it's been convenient since I've never seen this username already taken anywhere I registered for all those years.

And btw this is like the best site ever O_O

Indeedy do . . .but we never got the radio shows here in the UK. I was lucky enough to have had quite a few of the pulp magazines in the 70s but unlucky enough to have flogged them in the 80s. Go for about 300 bucks each on ebay now . . .thmbdn.gif

Bugger !!

The radio shows weren't as faithful to the character as the original pulp stories and, fortunately, quite a few of those have been reprinted in paperback. Strangely enough the guy who I sold my mags to actually used them to produce cheap reprints in the UK.

“But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked. “Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here."

Should be pretty obvious from my icon what the "cello" part is about. The rest is my initials.
And don't call me for gigs just yet sad.gif I'm not good enough. Teach me to start a new instrument from the other side of the orchestra after 30 years.

Edit: this site may rate me a neophyte, but I've been a pin addict since maybe 1970, and bought & rebuilt my first machine in '84.

When he was very young, my son called me "Popotte" (in stead of Papa: dad in french).

my surname is "savage" because of an article i once read.

my real name is not "joe polyp", "chocolate johnson" nor "meteor loofah". (hi rob smile.gif)

This is a very interesting thread. Thanks for starting it!

My name came from a suggestion from my wife. She is Chinese and came up with the tiger character. I'm have pretty fair skin. Put the two together and you have White Tiger. I decided to shorten it to just wtiger. biggrin.gif

There is a B-Rated movie from the 1980s called "The Dungeon Master".

In this film, a computer technician named Paul has a computer.
Both were involved in an experiment, the result of which allows Paul & the computer to "link up".
The computer has a key, marked "X-Calbr8".

Paul gets transported to Hades, where he meets Mestima (a.k.a. Beelzebub, Belial, & Satan).
Deeming Paul to be "a worthy opponent", Mestima dubs him 'Excalibrate'.

That sums up where mine comes from.
If all the world's a stage, and all the players merely actors, then who keeps changing the script?!?!?
