Why can't you make a new model?
You have, or can get all the tools to do so for free.

I was relating to Rawd's post:

QUOTE
I can never seem to make a new model. I always have to open up the sample 'peg' and then import my model to it.

I have the tools and can make models but just like Rawd they can only be used if i use another model as parent.

And Milkshape is'nt free sad.gif

Really? I could have sworn it was free. How much do they want for it?

The parent object if true, is a bummer. So where does the parent come from? And where the hell does it go?

$35 dollars. Well worth the price if it is actually used. I used Imagine on the Amiga. I have no idea what the price was though, for the same reason I don't know the actual retail price of PhotoShop. I never got very good at it either, but I did make a couple of cool animations, one was two lamps playing catch with a light bulb, and one was a crystal goblet in orbit around a clay urn, I think that might have been the tutorial, I remember I tried to make a Galaxy class starship and the nacelles looked great and the rest of the ship never came together. These took almost 30 hours to render. It takes a lot of learning. If I needed a model, I would hire someone else to do it. If I needed a bunch of models and they would have cash value, I would learn MS or something better. Otherwise, no thank you. I'd rather learn another language, like German, or Spanish.

That does'nt really explain why we can't make a new model.
Are we completely missing something here?

What the heck are you talking about? why can't you? Everyone can make their own object...just take the time to learn the software, thats all.

I'm having trouble saving my Cannon model from FPM-Editor. Every time I save the model, it is only 2.5 K and when I reopen it, the Cannon is gone. The screenshot below is right before I save, can you tell me if anything is wrong here?

Rascal. I think that is the same thing that light66 and I were talking about.

Try opening up the sample PEG in the editor, and change it to your cannon model, instead of starting a new model.

Ah, I thought you were talking about in FP.

EDIT: Yep that worked!

If that is the problem, then you will be the third person to have this issue. I am not sure how to report it to LvR, other than what we are saying.

Well it is BIG.

It will be fun.

It's not what I was hoping for, But it will help keep FP going. And as long as FP is going, it will SURLY get what I am hoping for eventually.

I'm not even convinced yet that it needs the physics overhaul I desire. It might just need settings beyond
'soft, medium, or hard(elasticity)',
or slow, medium, or fast',
or 'shallowest, shallower, or shallow (slope)'
Etc. Etc. Etc.

It's not finished yet Chas -- soon, soon it will be available!!! smile.gif I'm curious what music it will be using, from the first game, second game, third game, or all three? I really like the music.

>>>>.....the music is always good.....ill be w8ing.....really like the 5.0, vp9 1.0 and FS tables.....there is 1 star wars table with no music and the table view is too low.....is it possible to change the angle so the view is a little higher in the vp9 desktop exec using table or backdrop option?....i think it is the v1.1 original.....

I'm not sure - Empire Strikes Back doesn't have much, if any music - you can change the backdrop fov/inclination for that.

Sorry for the off topic but.. One of the songs I am using is a rendition by Pascal Van Stekelenburg. smile.gif He was nice enough to give me permission to use it and sent me a different copy.

here...

Then I am using the Combustible Edison version..

And finally I decided to go with a Moby remix of Mission Impossible.. (I know it is not Spy vs Spy.. but semi-related, and kinda cool)....

Great choices. If this don't turn me on to FP nothing will ever.

What is the chance of a VP port, now that you mentioned it.

Sounds good. But I still think their music is from the PAL versions of the game, or it's just a little too slow. These youtube videos are also PAL. It needs to be 1.2 times faster.

2 =

3 =

That's an issue when you get used to NTSC and someone in europe plays the game. slight different tempo. Not to mention the ports to consoles and other systems where they massacre whatever music it had.

The chances are about 90%. I have never used VP9 editor, but I am willing to give it a shot when I am done with the FP version. I think I might ask UncleWilly if he would like to help me get started (when he is finished his other 8 projects.)

Back on topic: smile.gif

... I downloaded a free street lamp model tonight, scaled it, imported it and have made some good use of it with some 3 part lighting effects. smile.gif

Now I just need to figure out how to export textures from Milkshape?
