Lowest "Max texture" i can set is 4096 and this already is set. But anyways you did helped a lot! I still will upgrade my hardware for sure, but now it won't be needed within the next few days so I can save up some more money for a better upgrade. Big THANKS to all of you who were giving some very useful hints and tips! :dblthumb:

EDIT: Damn I am getting old, just found that I can scroll up the "Max-Res" settings and yes it even goes lower than 2048.

Textures are a good thing to skimp on, (as a work-around to get you by).

But Intel C2q Q8400 is very old (like before 2010). There were already some Intel-i3 a few years later that were faster.

Yea you can take it all the way down to 1024 (if you really want table to play well on older pc), but images start getting real blurry below 2048.

Yes my boss always liked it cheap, you only can wonder about where he was able to get a brand new computer with such outdated CPU. I also remember he got an scan-print-fax combo for 35€ incl. delivery, new in box right from spain coming with some stickers in english language for the spanish labled operating keys. :pokey:

Ah i see, if the CPU is from 2010 that could be the problem, because VPX was made 5 years later and so the 2010 CPU is probably not able to run all the VPX features

So if you can't play on VP9 (that should be running well on a CPU from 2010 as it was made in 2008 ) and must play on VPX turning off the backglass on the 2nd monitor and any additional process to only play the table on the main monitor would very likely be helpful in reserving more CPU to VPX itself

That along  obviously turning off all the VPX graphic options that can be turned off and lowering all the VPX settings that can be lowered, as all may use CPU more than the GPU.

In summary, make it so your CPU only run VPX itself and no additional stuff so it can at least use more power for running the table.

With the new settings the tables run all good, even with backglass on. I know it's still not 100% perfect but i can deal with it knowing better hardware will come sooner or later..

One thing I did notice recently is that the bolt model on the default VPX project table is absurdly high poly, it's 8592 tris and has all the threads (which you're basically never going to see) fully modeled in super high detail. Depending on how many bolts a table has that could really add up, especially if they have reflections enabled, so it's another thing worth checking. I edited the mesh to only have the bolt head which brought it down to 656, I could share it here if anyone wants but there are probably already loads of screw/bolt head models going around to swap them out with.

May not work for everyone, but within in vpx in the user tab i set vsync to 0 instead of the default 1.  I spent countless hours trying to get about a dozen higher end tables to not stutter and at least for me it turned out to be a simple miracle solution.  worth a try.  I have a two screen setup plus a pindmd

To be fair, I do think all the stuff is very welcome for everyone with 4K 40''+  playfields and supreme high end hardware. But for everyone else it's absolutely over kill. I have disabled and lowered so many graphics settings and it still looks pretty great on my 22'' playfield in fullHD. Can't say I even noticed any difference at most settings. But yes on a much bigger 4K screen it will make a difference for sure. Biggest problem is as a beginner you just don't know what settings you need to change and it's so complex you don't know where to start. I started in january, have learned a lot about all this and still be a total noob to most of this. I can't thank you all enough for all the support here!
