..how to make changes to the slingshot direction in my old VP9..

:BDH:

oh really, your a funny guy...har har...

we all worked very hard back then to get to where its at.

at that time in 09 we needed more computer savvy programmers

to move forward and script writers.  you werent here.

at that time VP9FS was a big deal.     :moon:

ok, vp9 is dead. soo, maybe i want to make my own personel tweaks in old VP9 and the new programs for the slings and how the slings kick the ball. There were alot of things i could change. The sling kick was one of the things i could not change.

So how will it work to make changes to my old VP9 and the new programs for the slingshot kick direction if i want to change it a little?

for one, use the vp9 that comes with the vpx install, and see if they even need work

if so, 1st thing i would consider is converting table to vpx, if it does not already exist.

if that is not possible for some reason (maybe pc cant run vpx)

try adjusting the physics some

try what i have in the pictures

etc

i thiink my PC will work.

***try what in the pics??

***what gfx card is recommended?

back then i think a Navidia GEForce was what the forum recommended.

i looked around in getting started, tutorials and essential hardware for the recommended gfxcard.

where is the forum link 4 recommended software and hardware for the card?

VPX installer - VPForums.org

hardware requirements will vary depending on the stuff i asked that you did not answer

I can run VPX at 720p (1280x720) with all graphics maxed out, on a system consisting of:
AMD Athlon X2 250
ATI HD4850 GPU
12GB DDR3 RAM

and maintain 60fps

but that is at 1280 x 720, any higher and forget it
but when the 26" tv that machine is attached to does not go any higher than 720p it sort of does not matter

on the other hand, my desktop runs VPX between 225 and 325 fps, depending on table
at 2560 x 1440

As for the slingshots in older VP you can try what wiesshund explained a few posts ago, just dividing the main slingshot in different parts and making the wall curved instead of a straight line.

or using several pieces, just tie them all to the same function in the script

and having different physics for the different sections

what....JP....how about you go into the program and fix it.

then it will be done and another problem solved.

im not interested in tweaking every table that might need some change.

i have hundreds and maybe much more after i start DL of the newer VPX tables.

just fix it and it will be done.

i still need to load the PC. ill load and play then get back to you and let you know if there is still a problem with slingshot direction.

not sure what u r talking about. i have no script experience.

that's too much work to do every table.

it wont take long to fix it in the program.

drop it for now.

ill load the program and play.  ill get back to you if i feel its not right.

watch some PB on you tube.

Really, dude?

What I see is a group of long time, GREAT members of this community trying to help a new member with an excessive preoccupation with [his] own needs, often at the expense of others. AKA ... they're not the narcissists.

Give it a rest or up your game with a healthy helping of respect for these guys.

Thank you.

I have several reports and my own eyes telling me otherwise.

Rule #1: Don't be a dick.

When in doubt: See rule #1

It's that simple.

It doesn't matter how much pinball you've played. Doesn't matter at all who you are when you're a member for a matter of SIX days and you're already disrespecting guys and getting your posts reported. That's reserved for members who've been around for years. Heh
