got my pacdrive controller (USB Output Driver Board) today dblthumb.gif

I hope we can realize such things as

- 12v contactors for bumper, slingshots, replay-knocker and game specific-events (like medieval madness trolls when they pop out, when you hit/destroy the castle or the attack from mars ufo, addams familiy when the flipperfingers pushes itself to the rythm of the music....)

- led light color-changing for flipper buttons (flipperbuttons in the original color of the dedicated pincab via rgb-led and color.ini file), blinky start-, extra- or launchball-buttons...

- real flasher / strobes (e.g. for backbox, like the addams family topper)...

- we could use bass-shaker/butt-kicker/body-pumpers for emulating pinball-shaker (earthshaker, roadshow, tales from crypt...) or for game-specific-events, like the MM castle or the AFM ufo...

Guys, this would be so awesome biggrin.gif

cheers
Chris

May I ask where you ordered the switches from? I haven't found anything like these while searching online. Most are enclosed in plastic or have no mount on them.

There are many kind of mercury switches , with or without mounting bracket. The cheapest ones are for soldering directly to a PCB.

These ones are by AssemTech , are cheap . easy to mount , you have various types and sensibilities available.

Please correct my English if it is necessary.

Any funny words or sentences you can teach me are welcome too !!!

This way I'll learn about pinball but English as well.

ledwiz board (32 outputs!) arrived and works like a champ!

brainstormed the previous days with ext2k (thx roger!)... here are some new ideas, hope everything will work.

- 3 rgb-led flasher (left, center, right) to emulate every color and viewing angle
- 2 coldwhite U-strobes / stroboscope (e.g. for afm strobe multiball)
- some more siemens contactors biggrin.gif

pace car 12v u-strobes

idea for selfmade rgb-flasher with 13 / 7 rgbleds

ledwiz works perfect so far + you need only 1 board (32 outputs)... I think I will go with ledwiz

rgbw high-power leds for real pinball flasher (can emulate every flasher color) and a pinball shaker motor (e.g. ) for shaker tables like talescrypt, roadshow, eartshaker... and for custom events (activate shaker on medieval madness castle, trollhit, attack from mars ufo hit, addams family grreeeeed bookshelf...). everything is 1:1 rom controlled.

rawd, with these toys your virtual pin is coming more real as you can imagine dblthumb.gif

here are 2 preview vids of ATTACK FROM MARS. ledwiz outputs are not optimized yet, just a first test.

==> during gameplay ( )
3 rgbw topper flasher, 8 force feedback solenoids/contactors for flippers, slingshots, bumpers and special effects, 1 pinball shaker, 1 original replay knocker, rgb button leds for the right button color... the 3 topper lights are mainly for pinball flasher. every pinball has flasher, so you can emulate each color and viewing angle. they are so bright that it reflect to the playfield glass and to the whole room. amazing effect.

you have to see this in real.

==> inside pinmame menu to test the ledwiz outputs ( )

there are many possibilites to optimize the ledwiz output or to generate awesome custom output. you have to look in the pinball manuals for solenoid, lamp and switch matrix.

It is really time consuming, but when it's done - it's mind blowing biggrin.gif

When the software is released, we should open an "ledwiz output" thread to share our configs.

cheers
Chris

looking fantastic Chris, you are going to take us to another level. can't wait to get time to start trying this once you get finished.

On the additional relays. do you really think we need to have a relay for each item, or could we put several items onto a single relay? i guess for most items the chances are you won't have a slingshot going at the same time a pop bumber does. but then again there is always multi ball where that could happen. I would not be perfect but could reduce cost slightly for some.

Hurry up and finish it you mad man smile.gif

thanks dude smile.gif

the "problem" with the relays is, that you can hear and feel the position (left/right/front/back). for bumpers you should use at least 2 relays, because 1 relay is too slow for the fast bumper movements. check out second hand contactors on ebay...
