I assume you have a model you are trying to import that you have set the properties to toy on.

Nope. Wrong assumption. I have model and texture imported but I don'y have object to apply that on.

QUOTE (Glxb @ Oct 26 2010, 10:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Can you import the model into the toy factory and then change the model to your new one?
If you can't get that far then there may be a problem.

Guys, maybe I speak Chinese smile.gif I will try later to record movie or make some screenshots to describe what I have problem with.

What I mean is on the toy factory table can you click on a TOY and then change the model to your imported one?
You should find it in the drop down menu with spinning disk etc.
Are you using the FPModel editor to set the properties of your model to TOY?

Just trying to make sure what you have works on the toy factory table first.

No problem with that. When I open toy factory table I can apply my model to any toy object present on the table.

I also can apply (to my table) any custom model (my own) to any kind of object instead of toy - because I don't have any toy object on my table and I cannot create one.

Yes.. but there are only 2 options.. spinning disk and hologram. I cannot apply my model to any of that.

Sure. No problem with object creation if FPmodel editor. I've craeted custom trigger matrix for WildWest so far.

Yes I have it.
The problem is that I don't want to build my table using Toy Factory table as the start, because I already have a different table (almost completed with hundrets of other objects) and I wanna to but toy object into it.

Ok so now with toy maker table open and your table open you should be able to copy the toy over and then import the model into your table.

Just copy a model from the Toy factory table and paste it on your table. You have now an object with this particular red circle and a diagonal red bar.
Now, import your model. Then select your object and choose in the left pannel your model in the list. Same for the texture.

I've do that a lot of time without problem...

God bless you. Finally someone understood my words wink.gif

Popotte.. the problem is that what you described simple doesn't work. I've tried it on 3 machines. I can copy & paste any object to the same table, but it doesn't work when I'm trying to paste it to another one.
It looks like both instances of FP have the separate clipboards.

I am pretty sure I understood your problem as well. But I don't know why it won't work for you.

If you copy and paste a model into a table that does not have the model already imported, you will get the red diagonal line as Popotte stated. THEN import your model and texture to it.

OR...

Import the model and texture to your new table, then copy and paste your model from one table to the other..

It has worked for me before!

Can you make a screenshot of what happens to you?

Hold on are you running FP twice?
Just load up both tables in one FP.

Yes, just once. When you launch FP twice, you can have unpredicable results even if you just play tables... And you can't cut/paste...

That's it! It works when I copy toy, close the table (without closing FP itself) , open the new one and paste the object.
Thank you guys. It's a shame that I didn't figure it out on my own :/

You don't have to close the table before loading a new one, more than one can be open at the same time.
Very handy some times.

Indeed. I didn't realize that FP is an MDI model application and several document windows (I mean tables) can be opened at the same time with one instance. Thanks!

Hello All,

I'm sorry to disturb you all. But I'm very new to future pinball. I found this toy thread and it's been helpful. But, I wanted to know if it it was possible to create objects (toys) on my own and then have those objects interact with the pinball. So far I have tired using blender to create an object which is basically a spinner that is a like a ninja throwing star on it's side. After using Milkshape 3D to edit and put in the animation, I use FPM editor to export it as an FPM model. But the object does not appear and it does not seem to be in any of the categories no matter which category I put it in (pegs for example is a category I used)

I feel like it is 100% possible to create your own objects and have them animated and interact with the ball looking at some of these amazing tables.

Thank you,

-Eric

Spinner models in FP were not animated via keyframe.

From what I remember the spinner models were centered around the origin (like most models for FP) and in FP they used a simple box collision shape which was added via the internal .fpm editor (and the object was set to be of the "spinner" class).

However I never used the "3rd party" tools for this and can only describe how it worked when using FPs built in fpm editor which was never public.
